Depends what you’re using your car for and what kind of driving you do if you have really windy roads then I think that the civic SI should be at the top of your list but if you are casually just drive around the city and are looking for a little bit of pep to get you on the highway or to get the sticky situation the hatchback will do that

@@DANIELHERNANDEZ-cp2ym power is subjective. What I mean by that is if you’re driving in the city you’ll need that low end grunt to get you up and going briskly.
If you do highways mostly, then maybe top end power is needed for passing power and merging.
The hatch will be powerful enough and will be negligible power difference between the Si. The hatch is tuned different so the power delivery will feel different.
Honestly it mostly depends on what transmission you’re going with.
      If stick - Go Si
If CVT- go hatch and enjoy the comforts.

I know this is a review of the car, but the elephant in the room is that this car can and will be marked up to death. This is a great car "for the price" not many thousands more! I'm not cheap and have no problem paying for whatever a car is worth, but giving thousands extra to lying salesmen? Hard to swallow. For most people 5 thousand extra (or much more?) can buy a couple vacations, a lot of toys for kids, etc. My point is wait for the 2023 or 24.
It's not Honda's fault but all the car makers should have some power over the price, they'd sell more! Or does Honda get a cut of the total marked-up price?
I know I know we have the power by not buying... but there has to be another way.

dealerships buy cars from the manufacturers and any markups are theirs to keep - this can be seen with other vehicles like the bronco. with the pandemic, they are charging even more due to limited supply. as long as people are paying with the markups, they'll keep doing it - apparently, consumers have a lot of extra money to burn right now...

The first thing I would do to this baby if I got one is unplug that ridiculous "Active Sound Control" module, which by the way is located behind/below the glove box.
That digitally-enhanced engine noise that you hear in the cabin through the speakers may be good for people who drive automatic and want to feel like they drive stick with those paddle shifters, not for us real stick shifters.
Second thing I would do to it is, hmmm...wait, I can't afford this baby since the stealerships are gonna blame the pandemic for marking the hell out of it 😟
Stick to MSRP, friends. That's the only way this beauty will be accessible to most of us.

When I read the phrase "this isn't a numbers car" in a recent review, I was suspicious. Now, even more so - slower than its predecessor, considerably slower than cars costing not a whole lot more (GTI, for example). I've little doubt it's chassis is well sorted but I'm given no option of a proper dual-clutch set-up which would make the car quicker, still. And with a new Elantra N lurking right around the corner . . . . spend wisely on your next fun-mobile, especially if you drive in daily commuter traffic. Not convinced this is the best bang for the buck.
