Keep it up austin. I replaced a carrier bearing on an e36 i had. Not too hard and that rubber around the bearing just falls apart after so many years. E36's have a warm place in my heart for some reason lol. I have a 325i I want to sound like yours.
rockman547 The flex disk is not that bad. It's just 6 bolts sliding it out and replacing it. The center support bearing is worse. he should probably get that changed out while he's down there anyway.
+Jesus Lopez allot of purple on the forums are saying that i need to replace all the nuts and bolts with new ones. i just need someone to confirm that i have to replace all the nuts and bolts.
Hehe. I was drifting my e36 with cut springs, then I bought cheap rear coils. Hard schock absorber and coil spring. I put my spring without hight adjuster collar and it sitted excactly same like with cut ones. But my spine does not hurt anymore and it dramaticaly increased inslide control.
Thanks and it's a bit of an oddball setup. I replaced the catyltic converters with glasspacks and relocated the tiny stock resonators to the rear (where a muffler would normally go). +Jacob Sidorov
Glad to see an update Austin. Quick question, when you moved to the low offset wheels did you notice a loss in performance? I have a set of forged ET12 BBS 18x8.5s along with my stock set of BMW 16x7 ET38 wheels. With the BBS the car handles great (and rubs naturally), but feels much slower, would the low offset be a factor? I mean moving the rotating weight away from the hub? Love the fenders on the Sharkcar, my fenders need a repaint now so I might have to get a set!
Chris McCartney Your 18's are probably a bigger rolling circumstances to the 16's which would effectively make it slower, it abit like over gearing it. If you had 15's with a low profile tyre's it would accelerate quicker, but loose top end speed. It's more to do with the size as apposed to the offset, offsetting the wheels usually makes them handle abit better giving the car a wider track.
Thanks but running the same rolling diameter, went for low profile tyres. 18s seem to weigh a good bit more than 16s though. Got 3 sets of wheels, lightest being the 16s, 17s being the heaviest. All have same circumference. Funny thing is the low offset 18s feel slower than the heavier 17s, but it may just be much much grippier tyres giving the illusion.
I'd recommend putting the car on jackstands and leaving plenty of room for you to work. Also, it's easiest to undo the mounts and use 2 jacks (one for the engine, one for the trans) to adjust everything into position. I'm not going to lie to you though, it can be a pretty frustrating experience. +Jesus Lopez
Does your car have reinforcement plates welded in? I want to do suspension mods to my 93 325i but I’m concerned with the subframe and strut tower issues some people have had
It doesn't but I feel it's not something to worry too much over. I've gone by the philosophy of if something breaks I'll fix it and worry about it then +Curly Fry
Austin Ferguson alright haha if your car can handle all the drifting I’m sure mine will handle the occasional donut and what not without the reinforcement plates.
Just FYI my well looked after 318i ripped the subframe out. You won't have issues until you do and it is something that should be reinforced because it will eventually become an issue.
Hi Austin, i hope you have reinforced rear beam of your car....i have 325i too and it just snap my beam from chassis, now i work on making reinfocement plates and weld them there....so if you dont have it, please reinforce it before it breaks :D its common on e36
Keep the shark teeth dude! I wish my wife would let me rattle can my e36 lol, did you change the gearbox mounts? Could be those banging or the stupid rubber thing on the prop shaft
I'm definitely keeping the teeth forever and I'm pretty sure it's rubber carrier bearing. I believe shifting the engine/trans around so much broke the rubber surroud on the bearing. +Rob Baker
Austin Ferguson My e36 is also vibrating alot around 3k rpm. I changed out my motor mounts and trans mount which improved the shake. Could the causes be the flex and carrier bearing making the vibrations. They still look good. I can feel it all the way to the shifter knob. Any opinion would help.
Hi bro, need your advice please, I have a 1jz e36 (originally 325i) and I already welded the differential, some people say that I should get a 320i differential and weld it for a better drift,is that right? or what do you recommend ? the car is awesome one the 01st gear but on the 02nd it doesn't spin like it should!
I have some nice style 42s bbs rims squared set up if you’re interested🤙🏽 The build is coming along nicely. I have a 97 M3 coupe and have a good amount of knowledge about them. Let me know if you need any help!
My friend, Hello! When will be the release about the installation of the turbo kit? Can describe in detail about the installation? That is what will be done with the motor. What piston and the like. Super channel, thank you, it's cool, though, and do not understand English:))) keep it up! Like ;)))
Hey, nice content you got there. My advice - give that engine a cold air intake, you need to restrict air filter, go google then you will understand me...

How come my exhaust sounds like total ass. It’s 2.5 inch from the o2 sensor back. Single pipe with a 2.5 inch cherry bomb in it. Sounds like a damn Honda .(ps DAT O’REILLY SHIRT DOE!)
Can’t wait to see this thing with a turbo. Love all the E36 content
Austin can't wait to see you at the track next weekend. Keep up the good work
Wow man, you're being hard on that bimmer...🔥

Love your videos! Want to get a E36 myself 😍 it sounds pretty good now 🏎💨
please do a video on the flex disc when you decide to replace it

It's not 100% necessary to replace the bolts. Just use a bit of locktite so they don't back loosen up over time. +rockman547
+Austin Ferguson Awesome thank you Austin

start making videos again man. your vids are actually enjoyable
Yay for Austin Porn. Always love you content.
Considering getting one of these...you got any tips and or preferred mods for drifting
How did you correct the frame rubbing from installing the driftworks angle kit?
whats your current exhaust setup? it sounds really good
Thanks and it's a bit of an oddball setup. I replaced the catyltic converters with glasspacks and relocated the tiny stock resonators to the rear (where a muffler would normally go). +Jacob Sidorov
Austin Ferguson thanks :) hyped for this event. i might go

How did you do the rear bumper
What happened to the turbo kit
I have to change my motor/trans mounts. I bought the Megan racing kit. Do you have any pointers for the install?
I'd recommend putting the car on jackstands and leaving plenty of room for you to work. Curly Fry my 325i had to get the reinforcements at 230k miles. Cuz they broke lol. you just have to do a little bit of welding.
Just FYI my well looked after 318i ripped the subframe out. You won't have issues until you do and it is something that should be reinforced because it will eventually become an issue.
Hello sir. I recently subscribed to your channel. Question: is this spoiler compatible with the 1995 325i BMW convertible?
Hey, do you use 16 inch rims?
Do a video on installing the flex joint and support bearing! I'm doing mine soon to that's why haha
why did the car break down? i thought m50s were reliable
New place?
Dude I am loving this build man, It is awesome to see this thing progress. Whats the exact color of the e36?
Hi Austin, i hope you have reinforced rear beam of your car....i have 325i too and it just snap my beam from chassis, now i work on making reinfocement plates and weld them there....so if you dont have it, please reinforce it before it breaks :D its common on e36

Husni Almasri yes 320 diff is shorter than a 325.
Thank you bro! will it fit easy or it will require some work??!!
Husni Almasri should just bolt in, though replacing a diff takes some time
Thank you !!

How have the seats held up?
They've held up great and essentially still look brand new (other than being a bit dirty here and there). I'd definitely recommend them +Steve Sanchez
what seats are they exactly? im sure you've mentioned it before

I think you should just get rid of the shark teeth get a hood and get matching black wheels after you turbo it
Dillon Taylor how dare you
Unco Casey it would just look way cleaner
So 5 months and you still haven't turboed it
