300 - 400 HP is more than enough for the Mr2. I have the Gen3 Mr2 3sgte with 300hp and this is so much fun. You can go fast straight and into corners. The 3sgte is such a great engine. I love it 😊🤗

That's a really nice MR2. Suits the colour really well. Sort of car that would be fine as is or would be great for some small upgrades. Hope you enjoy it. Also buying a clean car to begin with is sometimes better. Works out cheaper in the long run. Because from experience. Rebuilding a snotter is more work, stress and expense too.

They actually don't really Snap Oversteer, ya just gotta know how to drive mid mount cars - once mastered & it's not that hard to be honest - they'll astound you in their cornering ability. Plus very good to excellent grade tyres are an absolute requirement....

@@ArtVandelayOfficial I didn't say you couldn't spin one, that happens because you've past the limits of physics, tyre adhesion..., or sudden changes of weight transferral from sudden braking or steering input.... I have owned one for some years now & i drift it in the dry but absolutely leave wet weather alone. You can't be scared of their handling - you have to master them through excellent driving skills & time behind the wheel.... If your coming in to a corner & feel that you've "over cooked it", i.e. too much speed on board, you have to scrub it off very very quickly in a straight line before cornering... Mid mount cars are exceptional ONCE mastered. The only driver aids my MR2 has, is me. True purist driving at it's best.... NSX & Ferrari yet to added to the collection....
This was a very nice car back in the day and its still nice now. I got an n14 sss pulsar for 24k in 1994 when these were like 45k. great colour too congrats

Loved the video, very clean SW20. I am more in love with the AW11 but the SW20 is a close second, literally lol. You are spot on about the price though as well. Here in America they are overpriced for N/A and a stock Turbo with80-140k miles is over $18k USD
I used to service these when they were new. You're right about AC. It was dealer fitted. The 3SGTE is a good engine sad we only got them in the mega heavy GT4. They do very well. We used to highflow the CT26 years ago.
Mad cars Sdub's. Yours is smicks as. I drove a GT turbo targa for many years, loved every second of it. IMO 3SGTE is an underrated engine. Dont see why PPL dont go 5S 2.2 3SGTE head hybird option over K swap, more than capable...but maybe thats just me... Word to the wise, you probabley already realise, but go easy on clutch's, they a real pain in the proverbial to change out! And when it does come time, throw something at it with a bit more girth, its not something you ever want to do anytime soon.
SW20 is a very slept on chasis now a days. And you're right it's sad that the only reason these young kids buys one is to swap it with a K series. I've owned acouple of SW20 and still owns one and I love it to bits...
I do like the Mister 2 over in Aus that has a turbo Honda swap and sequential box that runs 8's on the 1/4. and Sarah n Tuned is currently resto modding her red "Mister dos" on her channel too.
Nice to see such a clean example.Not every car is destined to be a Boosted Boiz style 1000hp MR2.Immaculate, tastefully modified examples have a place in the car scene too.Just a nice drivers car as it was intended..without being a puck-clutch equipped pig with no street manners.👌
@@fullboost if you do turn it up... Let it be known that the reason the engines blow up most of the time is because of knock. Best is to stick an aftermarket ecu In there with proper knock control. You'll be able to squeeze loads more out of it as long as your easy on the det. Transmission is bullet proof as you probably have heard
Nice car. The only issue is spare parts. If you have even a minor accident it will probably be written off. I had two of these sw20's years ago and even then parts were close to impossible to find.
If you want see another awesome MR 2 watch UA-camrs Sarah n tune, she has kept it fairly standard but just tweaked a little bit and she's easy on the eye to. After watching her, I like you have thought about one myself
Nice car mate! Highly recommend checking out Sarah 'n Tuned here on UA-cam. She did a restore and fixed electrical gremlins and other issues properly and documented it as she went.. Could be of help to you as time goes by.. Cheers..
Big fan of those series MR2, especially from the High Octane DVD's. Also, no where near the world's worst or longest lockdowns for covid in Melbourne. Just sayin'.
Do you think you might modernize the engine and engine management like Marty did on MCM? Regarding purity and K swap, I’ve seen some nice Camry swaps - that’d give a nice kick in power and they can be supercharged as well 😎

Nice car, good buy. Needs a 2GR-FE. Apparently there are kits to put them in MRs. Bolt on a supercharger too. Lotus use them.

350whp is the sweet spot for a road going mr2. You will love it.
Sweet spot is a 2GR swap.

10l per hundred is great economy for a 90s turbo. Mazda 6 gets 9l, Prius gets 7l
