- John Wick Chapter 4 is the final movie in the John Wick Franchise. Keanu Reeves and Chad Stahelski have decided to leave the John Wick Franchise and conclude John Wick's story with John Wick Chapter 4.
Now that we have reached the end of the John Wick Franchise, which of the four John Wick movies has the better, Story, Action and Characters, and which John Wick Chapter is the overall superior movie?

I’ll be honest Eric, when I initially saw that this was a 4 way vs video that was only 16 mins, I expected it to be underwhelming but BOY was I wrong, this is easily in my opinion, one of your best vs videos!

RIP Lance Reddick. He was fantastic as Charon the concierge and absolutely deserved to be one of the few characters to appear in every film alongside Winston and the Bowery King.

John Wick is probably the only modern movie franchise that actually stayed great from beginning all the way to the end
Same can be said about Mission Impossible.

Going in, I was really scared that the film would end on another cliffhanger especially given how the third film ended. So good that they decided to end it here.
There’s going to be a Chapter 5 eventually.

John wick 2- He Raged
John wick 3- He bargained
John wick 4- He accepted
John wick 5- He Resurrected
Yes chapter 3 doesn’t progress the story much, but it’s not really supposed to. It’s John self identity story. Does he want to be the assassin in history, or does he want to be the loving husband. It’s why he knew the answer to what he wanted written on his grave stone. Loving husband.
I think revees’s acting was really good in chapter 4. Sure, he doesn’t sound as menacing, but that’s the point. John is tired. He is completely done at that point. In chapter 3 he said he’s angry. Now he’s feeling no emotion. Just wants out.
I've never seen the movies-just clips here and there because they're a little too violent for me, but I hear the John Wick franchise is great. From what I got from some spoilers, I saw the protagonist as someone who wanted out of a dangerous job but old habits die hard. And then, now that he's back, he can't get out, even though he wants out.
Well, technically he had a sympathetic reason for why he got back in the game in the first place-his beloved dog was murdered which was a gift from his wife and was his way to grieve but also having hope he can still change.
3 was my favourite for the action, pacing, characters, visuals and dialogue to be honest. The plot was simple as it was about John's survival, but I remember first watching it thinking "where can he realistically go, how can he get out of this, can he pull it off in one movie, will he even live by the end of this chapter?" and that was enough for me. Since it followed on from JW2 which had the best ending in my opinion, that made it all the better
Fully agree with the ranking and general sentiments.
Chapter 2 is also my favorite as I think it gives the best overall package.
I would love to watch the Continental TV show, and have it act as a prequel with an ensemble cast of old characters.
When I first saw John Wick Chapter 4 in theaters, when we got to the last hour of the film, the movie went from an 8/10 to a 10/10! It legitimately was one of the best things I’ve seen in a long time!

This is probably the first battle between movies that I have no idea who will win. I love not knowing which will win each category. All the movies are a fun ride and worth a watch. It's great to watch good movies Fighting each other.
When the climax was happening I wasn’t ready for the movie to end I honestly thought there was still another climax that was coming and I wasn’t ready for this saga to be over. I refuse to accept that this is the end. I need at least one more

John Wick 4 is no joke one of my favourite movies ever already.
I'm not 100% certain that this is the final chapter though, seeing as they set up the ending in a way that they could either leave it there and it would be a fantastic ending, but they can also decide to make a sequel and say that he faked his death.
And seeing how much money JW4 is making Lionsgate are without doubt pressing both Chad and Keanu for a 5th one.

John Wick goes down for a great cause. His death lifted his character to a new height. One of the best death of a Hero.
Yeah. This is an awesome action franchise and one of the best examples of how you do R rated action. This alongside the Mission Impossible movies I would consider as the best action movie franchises in recent years.

Amazing video as always man. I was waiting for you to talk about John Wick 4 since I saw it and it did not disappoint. I absolutely love the fourth film as while I liked the movies okay I was never a massive fan. The fourth film however, was so much fun and has my favorite characters in the series. Caine and Mr. Nobody are now some of my favorite anti-heroes in any movie. Bill Skarsgard is also my favorite villain in the series for how much of an all talk kind of character he is. I always love to hate characters who have so much power yet are just cowards behind it all. His death was easily the most satisfying death in the entire series for me. Also, the scene with Scott Atkins as the German crime boss Killa was also fantastic. Not only was a he a super entertaining villain but the fact that the actor was able to go toe to toe with Keanu and do his own stunts even in that heavy fat suit was so impressive and amazing.
You should watch the punisher, Im sure he will be in your top 5 anti hero list, start with daredevil before punisher, my favourite john wick death was santino from the end of the 2nd movie
On a side note, I just recently watched the Mario movie. All I got to say is, personally, Sonic has a better movie career with his 2 films than Mario with his 3 films

I saw Chapter 4 on the release date and when Paint it Black the french version came on i immeditaly had a smile on my face and never ended until the song was over. Even though the story of John Wick is over. The John Wick Universe still moves on with the side stories coming up. Plus I believe they have confirm that there are 2 new side stories. 1 is base of the history of the continental and the High Table. Another is in the past about the ballerinas dancer I think. But John will return in those.
As for sequel stuff well anyone watch the ending will know what its gonna be about.
A series focusing on Winston in the 70s called The Continental is coming out soon
A spinoff movie called The Ballerina will come out next year and it will be set in between Chapters 3 and 4
But John Wick Chapter 5 is still possibly happening so John Wick probably isn’t dead…
unless it’s a prequel

Just recently saw John Wick 1-3, waiting until streaming to watch the 4th one. I love this franchise! I get your criticism of Chapter 3 and maybe if I rewarch it, I'll feel it, myself. My favorite scene is when John Wick refuses to shoot Winston even though it would've guaranteed his pardon and allow him to remember and mourn his wife but also make him serve under The High Table and have to be back as an Assassin. The fact John was willing to fight with Winston to protect him and basically give it to the High Table was awesome only for it to be tragic when that weasel backstabbed John 😔😡. However, I haven't seen Wick 4 and the actor of Winston said something in regards to John falling from the their act that makes me think it wasn't a betrayal but John doesn't know that but I'll see when it gets on streaming.

Honestly i thought the fact that they never said it would be tye end of his story worked even better for me, i never saw his death coming. And i personally never saw anything wrong with Keanu's acting in this movie, But Donnie Yen was my favorite aspect of the movie

Aurelio and Sophia and Cassian didn't need to come back and Keanu Reeves didn't have his worst performance wrong there and he gave a great final performance

I disagree with the Keanu acting bit, or him being the least intriguing but I understand your points, Yens character was the most interesting, but the events for whatever was gonna happen to john is the only thing I really cared about, While yen was an interesting character, the movie told us so much about him, that we wouldn`t need a spinoff but rather "want" one, He reminded me of Wei Shen from the game called Sleeping dogs, anyways I like this video, it`s not the cheesy clickbait john wick 4 is bad video, but it`s not blind love either, it`s your personal critics which I understand
Edit: Actually after comparing them, here are my thoughts, he sounds more at peace in the 4th with his lighter tone, which is a downside, in the ending of the 4th he sounded like the John we seen in the previous films, so I understand the critic, one thing I will point out tho, is for your John wick 2 example, That was early John with even more rage, and he had a bloody face, and in my opinion the way his hair looked in the second had a more mature serious look, anyways Im glad that you pointed out the acting thing, I just dont agree its as bad as you say but overall I agree
I'm not sure why Keanu's line delivery has gotten progressively worse with each sequel. His acting was actually great in the first film especially when he's ranting.

@@rugerred8659 I see and I really don't get why some like Eric here act like it's the black sheep I enjoyed the movie and thought it definitely brought in the war that John Wick was going to be an acting towards the high table pretty well though I do feel like chapter 4 did a better job of really establishing the stakes and I'm glad the movie ended with John Wick having a clear arc and he didn't end the movie in the same spot he began it in like in Chapter 3

Honestly I'm disappointed if they continue it. But in the words of the Producer, "if Keanu and Chad have figured out something cool, if they’ve an organic way back in that doesn’t feel like bullshit, then there will be a John Wick 5."
I feel that the next story they tell could be that John Wick and Donnie Yen go after the entire world of Assassins and try to take them down. That would be a cool next level threat.
But we'll see what happens. How do you feel about a fifth movie?
@@EricCarter12 honestly I’m kind of on the same page as you. Personally I think John Wick 4 was the perfect ending and it does feel a little cheap if he’s just gonna come back in the fifth film, but like you said if they can make it work then I’ll give it a chance. I do agree that a team up between John and Caine would be great. Seeing them take down the High Table completely once and for all would actually be a great and exciting story. So we’ll see. But after 5, that needs to be it. That would be more than enough John Wick movies no matter how good all of them are.
had an idea for chapter 5: another criminal organization so underground, even the table doesn't know about it... and they are dangerous.

@Courtlin Sellers well I do know the director wants to do a 5th movie I'm just not exactly sure how. A prequel would be cool or at the very least a spinoff but we'll see I suppose

I really liked him. Although he definitely felt like an outsider when compared to the rest of the assassin's after John Wick.
That being said, the scene where John saves his Dog was really funny and was a great way for the two characters to get along.

@@adamgrunther1367 Cool. What really has me interested is that the show is a 3 episode mini series. So they can get in, tell their story and get out.
As opposed to most shows which keep going on for more episodes than their stories can accommodate.
@@EricCarter12 I agree. I also think what interests me most is how they’re continuing this franchise without just bringing John Wick back to life. There are so many characters in this series who are ripe for a spin-off and I think starting with Winston is actually really fitting.
i don't get the complaint about keanu's acting in 4, john is tired and worn out by part 4, he has been on the run and just wants it to be over with. i think keanu does a great job playing john in part 4 as a "let's just get this over with." guy instead of the "i can take you all on." guy like in parts 1 - 3
