Well, Dan you did tell me to keep trying to win the trip with Matt and Heiko. I just wrote a book on Captain Matt's channel. I might have told you that my husband has never caught an ocean fish off a charter. So here is my challenge...If my husband, Mike, had the opportunity to catch one fish, Heiko has better luck catching the targeted fish. This would be a trip of our lifetime. Enjoy and been binge watching Elizabeth's and your videos for months now. I found you from Heikos channels. But to meet all of you, with Heiko's Swordfish and Mike's one fish would literally make memories. Thank you for all your time spent making videos for us to enjoy, because I'm here and you're having fun fishing. I don't think Elizabeth really liked the fried rice tuna bites. At least when it first hit her mouth. Careful on how fried the rice is, it can be as hard as a rock. Keep on, keep on fishing.
We are headed out today and hoping to find the fish. Been really windy lately and had a small tropical storm blow through last week. Hoping the fish aren’t too scattered!

Hi Captain Dan another great video educational I can't wait to get down there and try this myself I was curious today is the 15th of November and I have not seen heiko in about 2 weeks is he okay is everything going well with him thanks for everything you give show us
He’s fine. We had lunch together yesterday. He has a lot of great projects in the works for his subscribers and should be posting again very soon. I will let him know you were asking about him. 👍

I’m happy you upgraded your reel, there are also better rods and line that will give you a much better experience, look for PE line it’s thinner than regular braid🤙🏼
Truth is I still really like the Gomexus reel. It has hassled everything from Muttons to sharks to big red grouper without a hitch. The price point is great and the reel never quits. I think I like it better than the Shimano. 🤷♂️
@@FloridaFishingCouple I have the gomexus reel too, and I have both the older model and newer ocea jiggers, they don’t compare 🤷♂️ the smoothness of the jigger and not to mention the auto engage🔥 the performance matches the price 👌🏽
Captain Dan. Great to see ya. We are enjoying our beautiful south Florida weather. And wanted to say Thank you for your service and happy veteran day. Now let's rip some lips.
I absolutely LOVE SPJ! I caught a 59lb Black Drum on a 220gr Johnny Jigs Pink Wahoo Slayer 3 days ago... I'm still tired from the fight - but my PB period, slow pitch excitement!
Shimano Ocea Jigger 3000, Star Plasma Jigging Rod, 220gr Pink Wahoo Slayer from Johnny Jigs - 30lb braid/50lb mono leader, JJ assist hooks (I spend a lot of time trying to explain this set up to my hubs, lol)@@FloridaFishingCouple
Your right about that, I have been addicted since I was three. My family would go to the local lake for a cook-out and I would go to the dock and find string and a hook and some kind of bait and catch blue gills all day.@@FloridaFishingCouple
Nice video with some great information Cpt Dan! Appreciate you taking the time to explain things that will definitely help many anglers! Keep up the good work!
Oh man, every time we upgrade to something (just put in 2 new transducers) there is always something else (radar, electric motor, second full screen Simrad). I’m gonna be working forever!!🤣😂🤣
Thank you for your service. Captain Dan. 1st time ever commenting but i love your channel sir. Land locked here in Wichita Kansas so we don't get to see this type of life.
Welcome aboard and thanks for the great comment. I remember being landlocked several years whenever I was stationed in Germany and Texas. Could not get back home to “taste” the salt water again. Thanks for subbing the channel! 👍
its a PE 3-6. same specs as the blue. they also make a 2-4 same as green. like you have. there are not many reviews on the black rods that I can find. but supposedly same blanks as the colored rods. although the reel sits 1 inch closer to the but end. i wish it was just like the originals but what are ya gonna do. i probably wont notice when fishing. I fish west of tampa. wanted to try one power up from the green I already have. for a little more wood to fight amberjacks. I have seen you fish the blue rod alot . seems like you like it. entertaining videos thank you for making them. I have a saltiga LD10 on the green rod and a Saltiga spj 15 star drag on the Black rod.
aha thanks. i was curious. I have a green rid and I just got a black rod in the power weight of the blue rod. I havent used the black in heavy weight yet. Im happy with the green rod. I have a daiwa spj rod and an oceans legacy rod. both I ordered too light and i regret spending money on. The goofish rods are at least as good as the other 2 if not better. the green rod fishes great and ha boated lots of fish for me. I cant wait to fish the heavy black one.
Great video like always Dan! I particularly like the down scan videos. I cant learn enough about down scan images. Be safe, and happy veterans day weekend! Cheers 🍻
Thanks, you too! We just upgraded to a through hull transducer. Been out only once so far but the pictures are crisp! More vids like that to come. Stay tuned!
Captain Dan, I also hate losing lures. After losing $120 in lures (4 vintage Rapala and YoZuri lures) in a single day, i had to fight back. Purchased 100 foot of 1/16 inch stranded vinyl coated steel cable and a bag of aluminum crimps. instead of running 50-80 lb mono to the lure, I use 6-8 foot of steel cable. flexible and unless you get a BIG shark won't disappear if a barracuda snags your lure. The sound of the reel clicker gets old fast. The only thing I use the clicker for it to act as a drag to store the reel.
@@FloridaFishingCouple Dan, I've seen a lot of people using the cable. This is the same cable used for lanyards, so it's quite flexible. It's not like wire line used for shark fishing or inside a surgical tube lure that needs to be straightened after storage.
