I have been a fan of Tabs from the first time I heard his voice. He is one of the top blues singers around IMO he emotes with the best of 'em. I have enjoyed his guitarplaying, though he's not a burner like some of the others I listen to for inpiration, he was on fire this evening though, even his "clams" worked themselves out. One of the thing he does have is incredible tone; his live sound - captured prefectly here - is something to be envied.
Great rhythm playing while singing. If you had listened to the original by Lil' Bob & The Lollipops, you'd know what I'm talking about. He played all those horn parts in an interesting way on the rhythm guitar
one of my favorite songs ever... the live version he did with Jimmy Thackery is friggin amazing. you cant sit still and listen to this shit. lol go ahead and try it! lol
actaully its a song by Camille Bob who recorded as L’il Bob and the Lollipops released on the La Louisianne records label, warren storm was also on that label at one point, but its a Lil Bob tune, check it out is amazing, anywhoo thats not the point of my original post, i was making the point that anyone can play anyones somng and its not a "riff off" just a song, anyone is free to cover whatever they want,
Jack Maurice Thanks for the reference. I'll check it out. First time I heard this tune was on a Los Lobos album in the 80's. Great tune and I dig both versions.
@devildog62able It's called a cover and soo many blues artists cover eachothers songs.. and tab always gives a nice happy twist to the songs he covers.. he makes them even better then the original ones..
fuxgood I think drummer is just playing open handed. Entire kit is set up right handed. Open hand builds up your weak left hand, if you're a right handed drummer. Or maybe he's a Ringo Starr wannabe. Solid drummer nonetheless.
i'll even go a step further then calling the tune a cover, i just call all blues tunes, "songs" , anyone is free to play any of them they want, imitation is the sincerest form of flattery anyway
The more I watch Cory play , the more I understand what it is to love what you do and do it night after night.
Far as I'm concerned, Mr Benoit and his crew are among the best I've ever heard, them boys can rock it out!! Cajun Power Brother! lol.
Love Tab & the Band... The awesome power of three.

Original song by Los Lobos. Good cover.

Tab is just a good looking talented version of me.🎸
It appears that the camera man was loaded as well.
Sun Cajun Blues ya'll
I got loaded and me to...
Who would down-vote this, unless Tab stole his girl away from him!
coarselyground I might, because the audio and the video are so out of sync.
Is he married or have a girl friend.
Left handed drummer with the drums set up for right handed drummer. Hmmmm...pretty cool.
Tab is more than cool.
