You are right about the risk of Nestorianism. When I truly appreciated the hypostatic union biblically as a Protestant It was only then I realised the legitimacy of Mary being the Theotokos and so began my exploration of Orthodoxy. Indeed she is the Mother of the Logos!!! Pray for me please.
I've, honestly, never understood what this particular argument was about. Both sides agree that Jesus is God but disagree on some kind of combination of the two? I even tried looking it up and still don't understand the point either side is trying to make that makes themselves so radically different to the point of calling each other heretics and satanic.

Christ is the only one who saves us but the the Theotokos is counted as the highest of the saints and the Mother of God, whom Christ honors as his Mother (as you can see when she inspires His first miracle at the Wedding at Cana, with the water being turned to wine. Mary requested something be done about the wine being gone)

Hello Jacob, the rosary is not something I have ever used or been taught about simply because it doesn't belong to Orthodox tradition. As an Orthodox I believe the Church has everything needed to attain salvation and so I do not investigate practices out side of it like the rosary.
There are some rosary-like traditions in Orthodoxy too (one being from Dimitri of Rostov, "Devotion to the Five Sorrows of the Theotokos", and one possibly from St Seraphim of Sarov), but these are very late practices and I don't know whether these are independent traditions or deeply originated and shaped by Western influences. But I'd say (as a simple layperson) that doing the Rosary as it is known from Catholicism does not belong to Holy Orthodoxy.

Certain protestant translations were changed by Jewish printers to remove references the to divinity of Christ. This has led to all kinds of heretical thinking in the West. The King James version and the orthodox Study bible are very reliable.

If we are to honour the Theotokos, should we not embrace the Holy Rosary that was given by the mother of God to the Catholic church?
We would not use the term "church" to describe any body outside Orthodoxy.

As for your claims of those outside the Church having feelings - as any orthodox monk would know, the Church fathers warn us again and again not to trust in feelings of any kind, but most especially so-called spiritual feelings. The demons work to comfort those outside of God's grace in order that they don't seek salvation. Similarly they give nice feelings to those who practice yoga and meditation.

Hello Jacob, the rosary is not something I have ever used or been taught about simply because it doesn't belong to Orthodox tradition. As an Orthodox I believe the Church has everything needed to attain salvation and so I do not investigate practices out side of it like the rosary.

There are some rosary-like traditions in Orthodoxy too (one being from Dimitri of Rostov, "Devotion to the Five Sorrows of the Theotokos", and one possibly from St Seraphim of Sarov), but these are very late practices and I don't know whether these are independent traditions or deeply originated and shaped by Western influences. But I'd say (as a simple layperson) that doing the Rosary as it is known from Catholicism does not belong to Holy Orthodoxy.

im really drawn to orthodoxy but matthew 1:25 makes me struggle with her VIRGINITY, she is truly the mother of God but i cant read matthew 1:25 and trust church fathers over scripture

Father may i ask if orthodox churches have an issue with accepting westerners in, i have been trying to start a conversion path for me my wife and little girl but churches here (i'm from Italy) have been painfully indifferent pretending we don't exist.

The so called brother of Jesus, first problem with this, we agree all, if Jesus had real brothers and sister, they should be younger than him, but for their behaviour we understand, they did not have any respect of Jesus, and not so much love about Mary at all, because very simple, in the crucifixion of Jesus, Jesus let the protection of his mother to John, and not to anyone of the so called brothers or sisters. Also the word brother and sister, back then was meaning the cousins also, or the half brother, from one father. In the book of exodus, we read also that first born, it does not mean, first-born of the other child, but generally the first-born of a woman, even if the woman does not have any other kids after the first born, the one kids still is called first born. Also Jesus said you are my brothers and sisters, so this shows more general use of the term, in the first place. Another thing you need to be careful from this is that Jesus was not cold at all to his mother, the reason he answered like this was only to protect her from the people as Saint John the Crysostom tells us.
Well...yes and no.....the human Christ I think was more of a recepticle (or a vessel) of the Christ Himself so Mary is more the mother of the body of G-d on earth but not of G-d Himself, who is immortal and has neither beginning nor end. So much error has sprang up about her limited role because when people look at the Gospel they say "Seriously? She was just a servant of God with no other role?" They want MORE and thus the erroneous theology of the cult of Mary which G-d has condemned as a MAJOR HUGE SIN!!!!! In fact there is a direct connection between the Cult of Mary and the Cannaanite Queen of Heaven cult. This protestant may well have a genuine longing for God but has been led astray by the western heretics. having encountered and heard the truth of orthodoxy, they have no excuse but to answer to god for their rejection of His Son - for he who rejects the Mother of God cannot know her Son.
