In the video I use a cordless drill with a backing pad and adaptor to make it into a mini sander for quick results. I use sandpaper and scotch to repair and key up the area. I use a degreaser and paper towel for cleaning the area. Playing cards, brown roll (or newspaper) and masking tape are used to section off the area. I use some black paint and lacquer in rattle can form from a local motor factors to create an excellent repair.

Can this be done with diamond cut wheels too?
THANK YOU !!!
No problem
Great video, thanks for sharing your technique.
Question, doesn't the bare aluminium need to have an etch primer as the first coat?
In a perfect world yes. In this instant it would over complicate matters
Great content mate keep it up! I’ve got a VW CC with the turbine wheels. Would this technique be ok for these? Also, do I need spray paint or just lacquer?
Cheers. Paint and lacquer mate.
I love too much your contents
Thank you
any chance of doing a van set up video showing how you have done your van please.
As next year I am doing my smart repair and wheel refurb training and then will be doing my van build and it would be good to see what I need to do and get for my van set up.
Its something I have in mind yes 👍🏼

Great video 👍
Just wondering will 2 cans cover 1 wheel? I got same black gloss whell and about the same curbed as yours can I go over hole wheel following your instructions or it won't look good ?
2 cans is more than plenty
Great vid . As someone mentioned would a primer be better or does just spraying with black paint and lacquer ok . I’m worried about overspray from primer
Mostly I dont use a primer and find its ok
Hi bud wondering if you could give a little advice, I’m wanting to spray my wheels gun metal grey but there seems to be a lot of spray cans to choose from. You got a favourable one if you have used a can is this colour 👍👍👍
I did a set the other day on my insta gram profile if you have it, its cvr_uk they were sirocco wheels
I used landrover Stornoway grey but it was on the lighter scale for gunmetql
Keep it up!
Just a question...
How do you find original rim colors ?
Thanks
i often mix my own colours. gloss black is always the same, ford moondust is a good silver all rounder
@@cvrpov do you use a spectrometer to find someone?
Hi mate - you scotched the areas close to the repairs (the inner lips) but then covered them with tape before applying paint and lacquer...wouldn’t these areas need to have the lacquer blended in after the base coat was applied? I’m about to try a repair on my own mags so info would be helpful. Also, when applying paint with a spray gun do you normally use a different gun for your primer, base and lacquer?
Any areas that might have been slightly scotched over the edges may benefit from a little polish once the paint is completely dry
Looks nice. I know you scotched beyond damage but no primer on the bare metal ? Doesn’t it need it ? Recently found you and subscribed
Little blow ins seem to hold up pretty well without primer
@@cvrpov cheers
Hi,
I have used the same products as you to repair my alloy wheel but after I have applied lacquer the finish looks grey ish. I have bought the lacquer last year if not longer than that. Will that cause the issue ?
It shouldn't of gone off. Are u sure it was black basecoat you used? Did u give the can a good shake?
Well ✔ 👍
👍🏼
nice
Cheers
How would remove the line of paint where the tape is at?
By rolling the tape back it makes a soft edge and remove immediately after application of lacquer. Polish the next day it necessary
Hi mate fantastic informed videos well done 👍. Would you be willing to teach on a one to one basis. I'm from Sheffield south Yorkshire
I dont offer training unfortunately but will keep providing video content
0:57 with butter and cheese? 😉😊
Ha
Not being a key board warrior, but would it not be easier to jack the car and remove the wheel.
Lot of time playing cards and time masking the wheel/car.
Tidy finish mind 👍🏼
Yes probably mate. I kept this one as quick and as diy as possible though
Great video, but take the wheel off next time plz
That would be diy tho
@@cvrpov what do you mean?
@@cvrpov i meant wheel off the car, not tyre off the rim.
Thanks for sharing.
Imo, maybe take the wheel off next time.
Yes. I kept the video as diy as possible
