I have an os27. Maybe a little older than this one.
No adjustable blade guide and pull start on mine. Have had it for 3yrs now.
Pretty accurate review. I agree with all that. Mines on the trailer w 7" extension.
I get my blades from Cooks sawmills fairly cheap for 10 pack of them. They work well.
    Stay outta the metal!
    Good vid.

Just received my OS27 couiple days ago and really appreciate the tips, I have one arm from a mining accident 30 yr ago but I've been slabbing lumber with a chainsaw mill for 10 years and getting too old for that. My question would be, why are you sawing so slowly, I've seen other demo's and know that 13 1/2 hp briggs will zip through a log much quicker? (sorry, I just reached the part where you explained why) thanks

sorry to hear you lost an arm in an accident. but it happens. i think that is was so long ago that you had a mixed blessing. negative the loss of arm and no way to reattach. you probably maybe have residual nerve damage or ghost nerve feeling. and i might be wrong an arm severation can be a hand and any length of arm bone and up through the elbow and shoulder bone. and your are alive and kicking had it happened as near ago to the civil war period some where around 1863 you probably would have been a gone to the promised land off of planet earth. things have changed in times.
i know a man named peter raymond. he lost his arm in a prop plane accident. i am not sure the details. he lost a hand and part of his arm maybe a propeller. he was fitted with a prosthetic clamp of a hand on his arm stump and he is not bitter about the lost of a hand that can feel cold in the winter or get burnt holding hot steel aggies like jerry of the clower family in his story of marcel lead-better or was that bed-wetter in the story of hot steel balls and the red rider gloves that his daddy brung.
back to the trees in woods. j.(ay) browning of j.browning timber operations. he got caught in a logging accident and lost his arm from fingers to his shoulder. he too is a survivor and a go getter and get it done kinda guy.
me, i am a tad slower. i slipped on ice on a small incline uphill and crashed on my shoulder bone. and broke it clean. i guess if the bone break was not clean it could have more serious. i got damn lucky and only a bone break and no broken blood vessels and no broken skin. only a bruised ego and a broken wing. anyways i kiss my wife jane good night and crashed on the day bed bunk bed converted into a futon couch bed. and took a long winter's nap. i survived the night. had breakfast with my life wife. i try to stop yaking like a duck and flapping like a duck with a broken wing. and we went to the new Britain hospital for special care a skip and a jump and a ride up walnut hill. and a place knows well it is in walking distance of jane's place of employ at new Britain public library and and adjacent to the children's museum of natural history and natural sciences that momma Phyllis, functioning autistic future brother in law clayton, and my janey wearing an outstretched body cast of Frankenstein with outstretched arms to help correct a scoliosis back problem she had all her life. i saw a picture of janey in front of the capital building in her body cast and she had the same smile we shared together on june 26, 1999 when we got married and the same smile when she could see heaven 12 hours before god called her home to heaven on 9-11-2019 at 8:10 am. eastern standard time.
sorry i digress. i must have thought about my life on earth family who now art in heaven.
with chainsaw milling i had a 24 inch cut sperber saw attachment. and added up to the two person 36 inch configuration and have 2 Stihl av7e (?) monster saw powerheads and 404 chain. i bought it early 1980s. and in 1999 helped a neighbor ron dunham slab out a 12 foot long 6 inch thick and 12 inch wide fireplace mantle from a solid dead ash tree that he had planed and installed above the old colonial deep fire place. in his building of the 1999 addition to his 1900 built house that his jaju (sp?) polish uncle from his mother's side. it looks that ron and ron's brother glen and momma wendy lived with uncle after the break up of wendy and jack dunham of province town homestead on the end of old cape cod. ron was a man of the world yeah. he went to play in the sea. down the street. i was invited for a visit jack was there and i was a guest at the dunham guest house. ron showed me his daddy's house and family homestead. if the walls could talk about things in p town that would be cool. or maybe i was not listening then and hearing has changed chronic ringing in my ears or brain cells like peter raymond jane's friend and co-worker of the old new Britain institute for the living and the new Britain public library. (nbpl).
sorry another tangential true story. and the high school geometry class with golf team coach mr beaudry from windsor locks high school home of the pirates called raiders sailors. my daddy told me that water in our last name was for river boat pirates. and the schoot was for the school days we missed for sailing down the river on log raft of number 2. but was it a wooden number 2 pencil or stuff shot out of the number 2 port side torpedo poop chute hole.
or was it a spin off of the pirates of the mississippi of rolling on a river or was it just a plain rolling on or feed jake he is a good dog.
friend look at how much money you want to spend comfortably or invest in. see what works for you and stick with unless you find something better. since you are still looking i might suggest the wider off shore 37. os37 from norwood sawmills the norwood mills and woodmizers may be better and at a much higher price point. the reviewer liked woodmizer blades. nate from out back woods likes a small supplier for his blades. consider to sharpe or not or just toss away or recycle.
i bought a wood mizer lt40 manual with power feed 33 years ago. it was the hobby entry portable non hydraulic. i only used it occasionally for myself. i am still learn relearning. i have done more watching other people mill than what i did in a timber harvest about 10 to 15 years ago ago. i was younger dumber and more trusting. but i am in a hell hole i call prison at age 66. a forced retirement against my wishes. my ex sister yvonne maria geradus waterschoot-loudis and her fake news flunky monkey husband michael Joseph mechanical less electrical dummy and want a be general electric refrigeration installer and hvac air conditioning specialist. he lives in a house built in 1970 with broken central air after purchase in about 1990. it took mickey smouse over 20 years to fix the upstairs master bathroom and it still leaks water in the first floor kitchen and the air conditioner is still broken and the house has a black roof. extremely hot in the summer daylight and by winter they cannot afford the natural gas to heat. so they turn it down to less than the double nickel (55) speed limit temperature. which is below the 68 degree. recommendation of moisture condensation prevention. his fire place on the first floor drags up warm air but smokes him out of the house if he burns wood or the wall street journal rolled upped newspaper logs his wife and my ex sister use as heat. and a tax write off her tax and cpa hustle. now she is the controller at the wild cat college in cazenovia a nearly 200 year old college with the anniversary in 2024. and why some one or other fake news financial flying flunkey monkees wearing bell cap leisure monkee lays an tales/tails as big as a kite in a christmas song about star with a tail as big as a kite . was it the christmas song do you see what i see? do you hear what i hear? was that a white christmas with the Kroner bing crosby and the dane of denmark and hans christen anderson and mr danny kaye on a train from new york to stowe vermont and a general down on his luck. he was a good general but he retired to rock falls vermont ( a poetic license of bellows falls and steam town vermont later moved steam town usa. in historic scranton Pennsylvania and the blast iron coke (cooked coal) furnaces near by. there is an electric trolley museum. and not that far is the Lackawanna rail line and coal mine. with a sightseeing tour inside a preserved coal mine. artifacts include a historic coal tipple and other big boy toys. near myerstown pa is an historic iron ore furnace that used burnt wood called charcoal the carbon left over from burning wood incompletely or by baking it in special
      k kilns.
      good night ladies and gents.

At 12:04 looking at your log at the end of it does it not appear to be outta square?. The top has a slight angle upwards from left to right. Is this a leveling issue?

Do the os27s come with adjustable blade guides now? I read their spec sheet and itnsays fixed guide system. I only ask because yours has an adjustment on it to suite log diameter

Damn you actually talked to norwood? Cause i cant even get a call back or anything. I want to buy one but only get elevator music and a computer voice that keeps telling me to wait. Poor sales team for sure.

That’s probably a COVID-19 problem. They had pretty good communication multiple times and the refund me for a veteran discount after one conversation.
