    This being an older video, I am wondering if I could use the clear overhead panels for a chicken coup? Or if you think solid roof would be better.

      During the hottest part of summer, the panels could overheat your chickens if they were clear.

    Thank you for the close-ups that show the thickness of the cut well. I've been watching these types of videos for instructional purposes as I intend to build my own home soon. Be blessed and i love your videos!

    I almost cried when you said you were selling it but quickly realized you're upgrading. You have me extremely intrigued on what sawmill you're getting. I'm guessing 031. We are doing the same thing for my daughters house...board and batton. Great video

    The mill you have is a great way to get started in the hobby. I have milled lots of logs with my OS27. Interested to see what you may end up with? Maybe a Norwood? I love your little mill. You can really do a lot with that. Since I do not have a tractor, that size is about all I want anyway. Excellent Video!

    Can't wait to see what you got OS31 ? Or maybe went with a lumber pro 36 ? That's the one I wanted but just couldn't swing that kind of budget. Looking forward to seeing it ... Scott..

    Curious to see how much bigger you go, how much total bed length, and what kind of lead time you had to deal with. Will you need to build a bigger saw mill shed? 🙂

    How long will that blade last cutting only red oak?

    • @TonysTractorAdventure
      @TonysTractorAdventure  10 місяців тому +1

      As good as any. No one can answer the question. Each log is different. If the log is dirty then your blades dull quicker. It all depends on the size, density of the log, and whether the log is clean or not? Blades last longer if you sharpen them as soon as you find them to be dulling. You can get up to 10 sharpenings out of one blade if you don't abuse your blades. One nail in the blade is ruined.

      We've ran a contracting company for 20 years there abouts an have all kinds of saws. One thing you can be sure of is that you have no way of knowing how long any blade will last. pushing it hard vs taking it easy, cooling the blade, what kind of material you're cutting, ALL effect the life of the blade. And as it been said, hit a nail or an embedded metal piece and it's done. Blades are one of them things you just bite the bullet, buy in bulk and keep a few spares around because WE always need on at the worst time. 😁

    We are clearing our newly purchased land to re-fence some of our pastures to combine with my families established pastures. That means we are clearing a fence line
    and roadway 20 ft wide by hundreds long. A lot of it is scrub but there is a LOT of good prospective lumber being set aside to dry and find a purpose.
    So my question is, do y'all think having a sawmill the way to go? I guess it can always be sold off IF we find we no longer need it after this project is done,
    but when have we ever parted with a piece of equipment. It always seems to become a member of the family.
    Well, maybe after some numbers crunchin'
