- A family says they were the targets of racial profiling by a West County police department while in the parking lot of the Academy Sports on Manchester Road Monday.
LaTiffiany Carter started recording cell phone video when a Manchester police officer blocked their car in with his patrol cruiser.

When taken in totality, the badge is an absolute symbol of their membership in the most dangerous criminal gang on the streets. I have less to fear from the meanest, most vicious, violent gang-banger member of the public than I ever will from a LEO. The banger won't lie to me and insist he's trying to "help" me. Translate the word "help" to "fuck" and it will be accurate, for example, "I'm just trying to help you," is actually, "I'm just trying to fuck you."

Somebody from the store was not on the scene, so they were not suspected of shoplifting. The cop should mind his own business.

And we are going thru bias training. Completely unrelated to us targeting minorities.
Or they will commit to giving the officer refresher Sensitivity Classes at 4 hour after shift for 2 weeks at quadruple overtime pay. This training will be an all you can eat and haul away coffee and donut smorgasbord, which the officer will mostly be asleep. The officer also qualifies for 2 weeks off with pay.
Next time Im in trouble Ill let the DA know that Ill investigate myself just in case I did something wrong and Ill present all the evidence in a timely manner to the DA!

Exactly and the bad part about it all, the store never called and it's no record stating that this teenage boy shoplifted inside of that store. The officer was across the street and saw a black family together and he couldn't stand to see it. He was trying to have this family arrested or killed over a made up lie. He got caught and called out on this for his malicious conduct on national TV. Do your job and go after the real criminals and leave innocent people alone who just out enjoying life.

The mother was articulate and the family was polite in expressing their fear and outrage at being profiled. The son showed that he hadn't stolen anything and they had receipts...YET even though the store hadn't notified the officer of any suspicion towards this family, the officer still harassed and humiliated this lovely family. No wonder black people are angry and suing for discrimination. I don't blame them one bit. This is outrageous!!!

I worried and still worry so much for my black friends. If I was harassed like I was the shit they must've gone through had to have been even more traumatic. It's sickening. Minorities don't get to be "kids who make a mistake" because at the ages of 15 to 16 we are men and thus threats.

LMAO 😂 I used to work next to Academy Sports at Pan-Asia. There are ALWAYS cops sitting in Academy's parking lot, everyday, morning afternoon evening. You'd think Academy was selling donuts.
@Joshua Patton The cops are there early in the morning, hours before the store opens, and they are there at night, hours after the store closes. The cops pull up next to each other in opposite directions, talking, at the far end of the parking lot. They pull up at all hours of the day, and just stay in their vehicles, talking or doing paperwork. It's a convenient location across from the police station, minimal traffic, easy to access Manchester Rd and MO-141.

That's what police is sometimes doing to get lower setalment. Department takes lower setalment and then takes away qualified immunity from officer so that we can sue them for more money. That's one way how good police chiefs get rid of really bad cops.

There was a lawsuit won by a family that went through this kind of false circumstances in the hands of Police and that family won their $102,970 dollar lawsuit against that police department in 2011. I hope this family gets justice with their lawsuit.

He could have just recorded their license plate and went inside to look at the store cameras. Which would have revealed a waste of time. Never even had to make contact even if he had actual authentic suspicions. But that would have been too much like actual authentic police work. He had a donut calling his name back in the patrol car. He had to hurry.

@Illunworth I called 911 a couple of years ago because a man was bamming on my door after midnight. Screaming, yelling, cussing carrying on about how he's about to kill everyone around here. The 911 lady asked if he had a weapon I said idk. She informed me he wasn't a threat if he didn't have a weapon and asked me why I called because it's not an emergency. I asked her to send someone to the house. She told me no because me being a scared isn't a police matter and hung up on me.
