Just picked up a 1600 hydro for $225, seller said it starts smoking and quits after 30-40 mins. I replaced the air filter, cleaned the plugs, and fresh gas...it ran for nearly 2 hours without a hitch...then it stalled...filled the tank with more gas...and she roared back to life! Mower doesn’t cut grass worth a darn, but I didn’t buy it for mowing. Just gonna use it to move trailers around my farm. She purrs like a champ! Oil change is next, then she’ll be a good girl.
yes they must have one, I can not stress enough that if it isn't on it anymore that the hydro pump can over heat and fail. Rebuilt ones if you can find one is $2000. last time I looked into it

What is the difference between a 1600 eliminator and a 1669?
did your 1600 have a hydo cooling fan . i just bought one and it does not and just want to know if it should have one
