Made “WD 40 Brand” a drinking game and now I’m well lubed. Great work. In our disposable culture, it’s rare to see older equipment still serving its purpose.
Awesome restoration. My grandpa had one when I was growing up. Loved riding on it and driving it around. Chris awesome job. Hopefully you get great use out of it for many years to come my friend. Keep up the great craftsmanship and hard work my friend. Forge On. Fab On. Weld On. Keep Making don't die. God bless.
Loved the old simplicity. I have a smaller version of this tractor and need to get it up and running. U put some effort into the restore and it shows, should be productive for u for many years to come
Oh wow, I used to mow the yard with this exact mower when I was a kid in the 80's. It was awesome. Yours is in much better shape than ours was, we beat the heck out of it, pretty much used it like a tractor. Eventually, we did actually get a tractor to replace it lol.
Funny, I noticed that air cleaner looked a little more modern, now I know why. The thing looks great and it’s impressive the weight it has behind it. The one I used to have was only a little smaller and I could easily lift the back end to shift it over if I needed to. Great to see it live on and it will be really interesting to see you make that snowblower attachment work. 👍🏻
Great to see it brought back to life, and it looks like there are some different implements for it, to expand it's use. We have Howard 2000s over here, they are more primitive, running v-belt-based equipment, but the range of attachments you could/can buy or build is fantastic. Every thing needed to run a market garden or small farm back in the day.
They're great all around machines, I adapted an old Bolens plow to mine and it can push a lot until it loses traction, and I only have a worn out 10hp. Rear lift is great also to have for grader and for counterweight for the manual lift, makes lifting effortless.
Very nice job wished you had cleaned up that front wheel and painted it. I have a 7117H and a 3415H that are bullet proof tractors. You’ll enjoy this one too.
When I was in diesel mechanic classes, we were taught: never trust gas from the stations. This is a good example as to why. Too much junk for the carb. Most mechanics will peak the tank, say "yup, that's your tank dissolving into the gas" Not sure what process our teacher meant by what he taught us. From the trunk to the tank? Or sediment from the station's tank? 9/10 times it's from the tank I'd assume
I had the EXACT same tractor, but I think it was a 14 horse. Was pretty worn out when I bought it about 15 years ago for $400. Used it for about 5 years then it got replaced. It actually cut pretty well and I liked the hydro, but it was a pig on fuel compared to all the newer stuff out... I feel like Simplicity was ahead of the game back then though...
Hydrostatic drive is not going to give the tractor more torque. That’s why people prefer gear drives for pulling bottom plows, etc. Hydro’s are great for mowing and finish box blade work.
This ain’t restoration, this is getting it running and operational again, I’m definitely one for keeping it original so I’d say a good polish and “detail” will do er right...
you put a bolt through the rim where the spindle goes and nut washer and then clamp it in the vise and that will hold the rim for you. So you can take the tire off
I’m getting a 70’s craftsman riding mower. It my brother in laws and he would let me ride it and cut grass. I’d love to ship it somewhere to have it restored. Do you know where I can do that?
EXACTLY!! This is NOT a restoration, go over to “taryl fixes all” now there you’ll find some real videos on regular and vintage lawn/garden tractors not this crap....
Have a 7016 Simplicity Sovereign 1970. Been sitting about 10 years. You have inspired me to rebuild it.
That’s what I like to see!!
How’d it go?
@@Noblereach36it went good
@@csaszargyula1949 you ain’t even the same guy!

I have a system 3008 I bought as A kid in 1976. Brings back memories!
Ok. This video gives me the motivation to get my old simplicity running.
Brings back memories. Awesome rider.
So many attachments we had.

That will be a good unit to use with a pull behind mowing deck.
Great Video. Thank you for sharing it with us all.
Great mower so glad you put some life back into it.
Always love watching these restorations, you make the process feel much less daunting.
DUDEZILLA!!! I cannot wait to see the mower deck after you 'modify' it!!
GREAT WORK I JUST SIMPLY LOVE THAT KINDA OF STUFF
Very Nice! Enjoy this type of content. Hits close to home for me. THANK YOU CHRIS⭐️😇🙏

Great info and looks like a really useful machine. Definitely more robust than some newer ones.
Awesome yard tractor. it looks Great. :)
Huge fan of your restoration vids!
That is exactly the mower I had for 28 years! It is a workhorse. I am sorry I got rid of it.
Great refurbishment job, looks great 👍 well done 👏

Great video. Nice rebuild. You could have driven it to your place, ala "A Straight Story" 🙂 Mahalo for sharing! 👍
Very cool show brother 😎
I’m pretty sure that is NOT a lawn tractor. It’s a garden tractor. Made for working.
Great project!
Nice tractor 👍
What a beaut!!!

I wonder what kind of lubricant you use
Dude, you forgot to lubricate the brake band.
IHCC guy here... near plattsburgh... what part of upstate?
East durham!
fuel filter is backwards i think
How much weight can it push/pull?
Well, we didn't show it working 😅😂

it was not necessary to change the oils?
I saw a drain pan there, Im guessing it happened but was not mentioned
Maintenance... not a restoration, you DONT need clickbait bro, first video of this channel that i disliked

A WD40 ad...
No offence dude but if your property isn't north of I-88 and Albany, its not upstate.
This is not a restoration video. This is a fix video. The title is deceptive. Otherwise…..meh
not a restoration and what a shame this great machine is in your hands
Could be rotting in someone’s yard…
