honestly, for all that people talk about the shiny new components like rx 7000 or rtx 40 series, it doesn’t really mean much. last-gen cards will often have much better value with the same performance, and even though the rx 580 is multiple generations old at this point it can still pull its weight in modern games. (long live the rx 580/570!)
Recently snagged a HP Envy on Ebay for $360 with a 13400. Came factory with the same PSU (400W Platinum, 8 Pin PCI-e) Slapped a 5700xt from Aliexpress (paid around $150 for it), used a Sata to PCI-E adaptor, and it games at 1080P all day at high/ultra settings. So all said, about $500 for a solid gaming PC.
The $300 PC that I got from OfferUp came with everything except the power supply and storage. I got an MSI Z370-A PRO Motherboard, i7 8700k, 16GB of DDR4 RAM, an ASUS GTX 1060 6GB, a Corsair H100i 240mm AIO cooler, and a KEDIERS C570 open air case with 7 RGB fans. Not too bad I suppose.
@@pupfriend I don't think so, I've opened it to give it a cleaning and it pretty much is just meant for the case it's in, has an internal battery that holds 30mins of charge and the fans and grounding screws would be an issue.
I'd also like to comment that your videos like this highlight that you don't have to have bleeding edge stuff to have a good time. I think outsiders are often scared off seeing $1,200 often listed as an "entry level" system on many custom build sites. Thanks to you guys (among others) for showing that with some patience and know-how, you can have a great time on a budget. Example, found a 9th gen i7 Optiplex for my daughter ($150ish) slapped a 5500xt into it for around $100 and it runs most everything at med/high settings.
I picked up one with a i5 8400 GTX 1050 16 GB ram 256 nvme, 1tb hhd for only 140 bucks. Works perfect. I upgraded the PSU to 500 watts, replaced the HHD with a Kingston SSD, and added a 1660 super. It’s a great machine for the money I got into it.
Can’t wait till I get it. This will be my first gaming pc so I’m glad I got to see it running some games although I got it basically just for helldivers

I dropped an offer of £150 to pick up the same day, and he accepted. Once i got it home i found it had an i5 9400f, GTX 1650, 256gb m.2, and a 1tb hdd, so i really wasn't gonna grumble at that.

I bet son overclocked the piss out of it too. The problem for me as an honest online seller is that honesty can often be confused for complete BS thanks to sketch listing mom here. I bet the mom had nothing to do with the sale and the son just used his mom's eBay account to list it. Regardless, you got a gaming PC that works for what is essentially the component value.

I'd rather hunt local instead scored an Asus z390P motherboad and a i7 9700k for $100 locally 2 days ago, both of them are tested working scored one of those common GTX 1650 laptops 3 weeks ago for $125 I was an HP Gaming one and had a i5 10300h, 16gb ram, 256GB NVME and the 50 watt version of the GTX 1650 I've personally found much better deals locally compared to what channels show off, I know that isn't the case for everyone. But not everyone is lucky enough to score the same/similar deals that channels show off either.

I found a Acer Aspire TC-885 MT with a Intel core i5 8th Gen 8gb of ram and found a GTX 1650 4gb for my partner. I'm planning on helping him upgrade it in the future so he can start gaming on it. I think it was a good buy.

A better option is to look out for an 8th or 9th gen i5 Prodesk and slap a 1660super in it. $200.
1660 super is weaker than the 1660ti. Might as well just get a gtx 1070 which is still better than both the 1660 super and ti variant
