Thats smart of LV! I’ve said it before no clone is 100% to what it’s cloning. Just gotta be good with what comes the closest. Most ppl out here not gonna know the difference of the smell in the air coming off your skin
well said…maybe we should call them inspirations because it’s damn near impossible to clone 100%
Yeah, there are a couple which I think are nearly 100%, but I think you're pretty much dead on
@@sealedindictmentyep
@@joesmellsgood👌🏾
As you said, most people will not know the difference and nobody is going to come up to you to analyze your fragrance for authenticity 😂
I like your reviews.....and your backgrounds are calming...goes with the overall aesthetic...hope you continue irrespective of high or low response to them. Support from India 🙏
Thank you so much! I figured if I don't have the massive collection, I can at least try to make the videos pleasant to watch! Glad you enjoy them. Where in India? I spent about a month in Hyderabad. Absolutely loved your country.
@@joesmellsgood I'm from a relatively smaller town. Hyderabad's hell tbh. 😂 It's the smaller lesser crowded towns that's not all attack on senses all the time...next time you decide you are ready to return, maybe choose the mountains up north or islands and coasts down south. Have a great day.😄✌️
Interesting video dude. I think I agree with you so far.
Great video! Looking forward to more your your upcoming content
Thank you so much!
You are spot on, sometimes clones let you realize that you like the idea of the fragrance more than the actual scent. For instance, I have Millisime Imperial and got the Milestone clone. Now I don’t like either scent, but not because Milestones is a bad clone. I realized that salty watermelon just isn’t me and the idea of Creed and their history made me like it more than it deserves (IMO). I have thought a lot about this recently and have become much less brand oriented than before.
I totally get what you're saying. There are lots of scents that I can appreciate the quality of, but don't really smell me wearing it, but I can absolutely picture the person who would wear it. Creed's history is... Hilarious. Gotta appreciate the hustle 😂
This is actually 100% true. They're called captive ingredients/aroma chemicals. I don't know whether LV uses them, but I'd be willing to put down a hefty bet that they are. That being said, very skilled perfumers can fake those captive ingredients with available aroma chemicals, but it's hard and can get expensive. That's why I I'm not exactly a fan of pure clones. Instead of attempting to recreate a specific scent, some "twists" look at what they have and ask "How do we create an amazing fragrance using the backbone of this specific fragrance?" That's art.
That's the term I couldn't recall! Thank you!
And I'm with you about clones. That may be why I generally like Paris Corner. It feels like they to twists a lot
Great one Joe, I get the same vibe with a lot of creed scents,I just seem to know that it's creed , the best and closest afternoon swim I've smelled is duas gone swimming.
Thanks for the tip!
I think that “sweatiness” is coming from one of the spice notes. Maybe the caraway or coriander or possibly an unlisted cumin note. Tobacco oud has that same damp, humid, kind of sweatiness and it shares a lot of the same spices as the Cartiers. Great vid and I agree with your theory here.
Thanks! I always thought it was cumin as well, but they list coriander often so maybe that's what it is.
I’ve bought several clones, maybe 5 or 6, I never wear them. They smell fine, but why would I choose to wear them when I have many high end fragrances in my collection that are just better products?
Hey Joe....Try Lattafa Musamam White Intense if you are looking for a LV Stellar Times clone. Cheers!
Thanks for the tip!
This interests me as I've thought this for a while, but most people don't really care or aren't interested. For me it was Penhaligons. They all smell different but there's something in them all that let's you know it's one of their fragrances. They also pump out a fragrance into the shop which has it too. Very clever really. Addicted without realising it. For Penhaligons it's something which is slightly soapy and very old English.
I really need to get a discovery set from them. I have perpetually had their website open in a tab on my phone
@@joesmellsgood I'm a big fan. They definitely have a distinction. Although I hate to say it but longevity is lacking. My favourites are the Trade Routes series. My wife loves Solaris, which is like very expensive sun cream. 👍
@@stuartcross9293 I'm not really bothered by performance that much, I care much more about the quality of the scent (Acqua di Parma is a good example). The sun screen smell sounds enticing for summer, and is one of the only DNAs that my wife seems to not actively dislike! Thanks for the recommendations!
I dont know about brands selling incomplete perfumes for layering, but I know that even before I heard of the concept I was doing it on my own with the fragrances that I had. in fact, when I am going to office and have to work late I almost always layer 2-3 perfumes
I don't have a problem with the concept, it really just comes down to me being sceptical when the brands start pushing it
U missed with the F*** ing Fab. It’s amazing the whole line was a hit
It's been a while since I cracked into it. When I put em side by side, it was wildly different to me. Maybe I got a bad batch?
I brought TM bitter peach for a “out the shower” scent for myself and the mrs , I didn’t love it but it was fresh and nice to smell . After a few wears and started to pick out the other notes , I quickly became addicted and I mean ADDICTED!!
Within 2 months I brought the full 100ml and then started on the clones .
Just from where I’m sat now I can see 3 clone and 2 OGs .
It’s actually one of a handful of fragrance’s that I keep in a mini fridge 😕
Funnily enough tho I very rarely wear it out but that’s probably because it’ll just frustrate me .
It’s definitely not “just” peach tho … you don’t pick up on the potpourri vibe ? Potpourri has tons of different notes
Not really with Bright Peach, but maybe that's where I went wrong and didn't spend enough time with the dry down. Like I said, it's not a bad scent, I just don't pick up a lot else
Hello friend great review ❤
Layering for Tom Ford? That sounds crazy
I thought so too, but the actual Tom Ford reps were teaching a class about layering at Nordstroms. I have no clue lol
I have smelled many Louis Vuitton clones , and imo. closest ones with the best quality come from Montagne Fragrances . Problem is many are sold out most of the time . I recommend their L.V. Imagination clone called Imaginary , their L.V. L'immensite clone called Immensity , and their L.V. Pacific Chill clone called Chilly Pacific as a few of their best . 50 ml. bottles are $45 which is very reasonable considering the quality blend you are getting
They have been on my radar. I'm keeping my eye out for the Chilly Pacific. Hoping this video is made irrelevant
@@joesmellsgood That one as of today is back in stock
Look at Demeter Fragrance Library. Very linear. Smells EXACTLY what they're labelled as. They just don't cost a buttload of money.
Because I dont eat sugary food, I find myself sometimes spraying my big bottle of Bananas Flambe from demeter before going to bed because it's so comforting. Demeter is great
The big brands definitely use "captured molecule" fragrance ingredients other competitors and clone brands don't have access to. As for layering, I agree with you, I don't like it but I think there is a place for it if you want to smell totally unique by combining 2 or more frags. But I am also suspicious of TF suggesting layering Bitter Peach with something else. Perhaps they are aware that Bitter Peach smells incomplete and boring and using the layering excuse to pass the bug as a feature.
New sub
Thanks! Hope you enjoy the content!
Hey man just watched your vid and decided to sub coz the content woz awsome i collect lot higher end niche and designer fragrances and always on the lookout for any realy good dupes but found there are just a few that get realy close to the way the perfume wears on your skin and in the air a lot that remind you of said frag but missing that magic note right alexander fragrances have a few awsome dupes mfk amyris extrait
Roja oligarch
And lv afternoon swim
Theres a great clone of lv imagination called essence de blanc for the price is great
Aoud emerald super close clone of creed erolfa
turathi blue spot on tyger clone and detour noir layton on the cheap i find they tend to be more synthetic than og but not too much and still enjoyable to wear as most of the others can be anoying i usualy look for sumthing thats good enough to stop me blasting through my pricey bottles keep up the interesting topics peace out from the uk
Wow! It would sorta make sense that they would market TF private blends that way. I mean $200 -$300 is unreasonable to begin with. The audacity yo! Lol. That said I do like my MH clones
Dude, I’m from Spain and you’re the only english channel I follow because I can understand your accent, plus you do some really interesting content. About the Arab clones... I definitely give up on them, everything I’ve tried has been bad.
It's very hit for miss for me. I'm finding more and more that it really is a case by case basis. I wonder why that is. I'm glad you enjoy the content! Anything from Spain that I should check out? Scents or houses?
@@joesmellsgood Try Carner Barcelona, I’m sure you can find a discovery set. It’s one of my favorites houses.
I get some type of liquor note from the bright Peach and I really like it I don't wear it often but I did grab a couple bottles it also last on me for over 9 hours easily
Hey that's great! I'm glad it works better for you than me!
Bright peach smells great on females and also intense peach,I wouldn't consider waring bright peach its comes off like a lively feminine scent and a few pumps goes well here in Sc ..Lol I layer Carlisle with Ani
I think you bring up an excellent point that I didn't cover. I would absolutely love to smell Bitter/Bright Peach on my wife. I think I'd enjoy it, but I'd also mistake it for a bath and body works lotion, ya know? It's not BAD, it's just too simple and straightforward to be a Tom Ford fragrance imo
I am relatively new to the fragrance game....what would you recommend to someone who wants a realistic orange smelling fragrance maybe combined with salty ocean water smell. I like the salty nature of Creed's millesime imperial and the overall dna.
I mean, the Paris Corner in this ain't half bad but the Armaf clone of Millisime is pretty outstanding as well if you're looking for a clone. If you're looking for something original, Acqua di Parma is the king of citrus fragrances in my experience and fairly affordable on discounter sites.
The name of the Armaf is Club De Nuit Milestone. It's pretty spot on to the creed original if you are after that exact DNA
@@joesmellsgood Already have Milestone. I really like it. Was looking for something a bit unique and fresh. Will try Aqua di Parma once I am done with what all I've got. Thanks 😊👍
@@yrs6086 ADP has a discovery set, that's a good place to start. But they have a ton of fragrances that would be in the vein of what you're after in their Blu Mediterraneo line (blue bottles) Bergamotto di Calibri is not orange, it's bergamot, but it's really really gorgeous imo.
@@joesmellsgood As soon as cash comes in, I'm gonna try a few I think are more in line with my preferences. Thanks for the suggestion mate!
Ha! Haribo is the cheap-o’s! Black Forest Gummies over ALL!!
Heresy! Listen, I love me some black forest gummys, but the black forest gummy peaches are not in the same class as trolli peach-os. But I would also say Haribo is number 1 by a long shot if for no other reason than the gummy coke bottles.
@@joesmellsgood Idk if Black Forest even makes peach rings. But I know one thing for certain, Haribo is inferior in every way to Black Forest. Haribo is what I call “tooth snatchers”. They are too hard. Like chewing on a juicy boot sole
@@kingyeti6336 I guess they do make peach rings. Dunno if I've had those ones. I was mistaking them for the Haribo peaches. As to the toothsomeness, I think it may be a freshness issue. Fresher gummies are softer for sure. My personal preference is the opposite of yours though and I like a boot sole gummy. This is perfect, that means more of our own personal preferences for us. We never have to share with each other, King!
@@joesmellsgood great outlook! you could leave me with your Haribo and you know they’ll be safe
@@kingyeti6336 unfortunately, they'll never make it to you. But if I win a sweepstakes and need storage, you will be my first call 😂
That’s awesome so I only have to buy 2 400 dollar fragrances to get an awesome scent
Just think of the scent though!! 😂😂
In all fairness, they probably should fail, it IS intellectual property theft in the first place. With that being said, the only time perhaps a clone company can be seen as innocuous is when they're cloning discontinued fragrances that aren't available anymore.
I generally agree with you in principle, though clearly not in practice.
Oh, fucking please! "intellectual property theft" my ass! Stop acting like these big houses, designer brand don't copy one another. There are tons of perfumes/fragrances that are the same or very similar from many big houses/brands.
And there are perfumes/fragrances from Middle Eastern brands that people think are dupes of stuff from big houses/brands, YET when you actually take the time to check when they came out, the one from Middle Eastern brands might have come out before the stuff from big houses/brands. SO who is the "intellectual property theft" then?
Dupes/Clones are good for keep the market healthy. The ones from big houses/brands are just getting more and more overrated and overpriced.
And what are you actually paying for? Just a brand name at this point!
How the fcuk can anyone own a smell 😂😂😂😂😂😂
@@sir_prize_ma_the_farcar4547 companies like Givaudan and Frimenich literally create and synthesize new molecules and then have patent rights on them so if you want a specific smell they created, you have to buy it from them. I thought it was a weird concept as well, but pretty much matches other industries when it comes to IP protection. Givaudan claims to invent around 5 molecules a year for flavoring or scent, for instance. Gotta do something to offer protection to the companies investing in the R&D to make this stuff
@@sir_prize_ma_the_farcar4547 So with that logic no one owns any intellectual property, low IQ take.
I smelled Ebene Fume and Billie illish #2 very close to my nose
Reaaaaaaaaaally. I better pop down to ulta and check it out!
@@joesmellsgood I'm not a pro bit I've been intonfrags since the 80s I'm an old frag head and to my nose it's close and surprised me how long #2 lasted on my skin
@@richardspurgeon8954 I had that sort of experience with Tuscan Leather VS Tuscano Leather and was shocked that the Lattaffa seemed to actually do better and last longer on my skin than the TF original.

Yeah, I think so
