@@joesmellsgood i also recommend in and out of freezer maceration process (below 0º celsius), its something that can be done even with brand new fragrances, cause maceration process takes 1-3 months for its full effect, so to cut expenses they dont go all the time in. Thats why theres huge difference in strength in some fragrances, like Dior elixir to other fragrances, ofc they use super refined ingredients so its gonna be a nother step, but doing at least 1 month maceration in and out of freezer proved very successiful for me. Mostly with the very weak oil based fragrances (eau de toilette or eau de parfum) On the stronger oil based its not a huge gain tho, but i got time on skin improved a bit, with azzaro wanted by night for example XD stuff was already pretty strong but improved like 5% so its a win. Ofc this same thing goes to mixed fragrances, if you start already by doing it in 10 days you have an idea how the fragrance will be like if you leave it alone in a month, its all about the temperature chock, some say that 5 days inside freezer and 1 out its better, some say that in and out its better, but in the theory which says chock its the main factor, i tend to go in and out, it seems to work better for most fragrances. @@p1nkboy984 I've heard people talk about this method before. I'm curious how/why that would work. Wouldn't lowering the temperature make the blending of materials more challenging? Heat is obviously bad, but I've always wondered how they can macerate in the cold. Thanks for the tip!

@@brandi5730 depends on the fragrance. I'd wear cloud, sure. I probably wouldn't wear sweet like candy out and about even though I like it, but if I am just hanging out at home, I'll give my wrist a spritz to enjoy!

@@Michaelmorris25997 I get the comparisons, it doesn't smell exactly like Haltane/OFG OR Savauge Elixer, but has characteristics of both. It has the body of Haltane without as much of the Oud and some of the spiciness of Elixer. If you're looking for a more pure version of Haltane, the new Detour Noire Eco might be more in line with what you want. If you're into the idea of a twist that has shared DNA from both, then this may work. Though I didn't see Solon on Athena's website anymore. Just in the premium discovery set

@@joesmellsgood I don’t mind the twist but I’m not sure how people will take it, I want to make sure what I’m wearing is palatable for people since I live in the US and am 21 years old. I was contemplating between Solon and ABHA. I heard ABHA has a funk to it and but I’m not sure if it’d be too much for western noses. I like how both of their notes are looking and this will be a complete blind buy, but I trust your taste in fragrances 🙏🏼 if you had to go with one being my age and for complement factor and uniqueness, which would you go for? (I reached out to them I can still get a bottle of Solon even with it not being on the website)

@@Michaelmorris25997 I am 38, but between the two you stated, I personally prefer Abha and don't find it too funky myself. That being said, this is actually an insane value cause it's like 14 3ml bottles, which means you get like 5 wearings or more per sample. You may find that one of the 14 you like WAY better. Edit: Solon is probably the safer choice for you, but I'd still recommend the discovery set because it gives you so many options and enough juice to wear for a couple months probably

@@Michaelmorris25997 I'd also say that Solon will not be taken poorly at all by western audiences. It dials down the Oud that COULD be challenging and amps up the spiciness, so it's broadly appealing imo.

@@joesmellsgood Hmm… In that case, I think I’ll risk it with ABHA. I think it terms of uniqueness it’s more unique since it’s a twist on a more expensive discontinued product. @@shuku09 this is all I have been thinking about since recording. I'll talk about it more in the next video, but the short version is that I don't think it's redundant to Club Black, probably a decent alternative to the PDM because it is very similar and half the price

@@joesmellsgood I have not yet given it a full wear. But my first impressions are positive. I do not get the original, at all. This is in my opinion a stand alone fragrance hinging on a pleasant nutmeg/saffron/leather combo with a sandalwood baseline. Not challenging at all. Nevertheless a nice addition to my collection

What is Brown a clone of? I was pretty middling on the Tygar DNA at first, but it grew on my aggressively and I don't quite know why. "this smells awesome, I'm not gonna wear it" is a 50 times better than the one I came up with!

@@joesmellsgood I've read Brown is supposed to be a clone of YSL Tuxedo, I"ve never smelled Tux so I can't say how close it is but Brown really is awesome.

@@Sum1Stoopid I haven't smelled tux either but I have Kismet and Rochas is on the way as well. That is absolutely one of my favorite DNAs. Wore that to my brother in laws wedding. Was perfect. Think Imma wear it today.

I still need to get a bottle but just moved so haven't been able to spend as much as my heart desires 😢. Great scent though, I'd say I get 4ish hours or so which is pretty standard for ADP for me. Maybe a bit longer as a skin scent if I get warmed up. Thanks for watching!
