This worked on our Igloo Ice Maker. I cleaned off the little filter screen. So when I turned it on to make Ice it filled up completely and made ice like it did before it stopped.
I have watched easily 20 to 25 videos over the last year trying to not throw away my brand new ice maker and yours was the first one who actually mentioned the suction from the bottom of the tank🤦🏽♀️ there is a tiny screen under that u shaped cap that gets dusty and clogged
Mine started doing this. Added a couple of cups of vinegar & some table salt to the water. Water level in the freeze tray is returning to normal after letting in cycle a few hours.
Clean the silver filter disc out clean isoapy bleach water gently scrub the disc with a clean toothbrush to get the gunk out. Thorough rinse and place back in machine.
what if our thing doesn't come off? we got the same brand but black. and its not working anymore we don't know why. we've been trying to fix it. this is our second one that has stopped working in the same way.

Turns out the little filter screen got clogged with some of my cat's hair lol

This fixed our ice maker. Never knew that little inlet was under there and the filter going into it would need cleaning.

Thanks...I didn't know that was there, everything works, except, add water light stays on.. I think if I clean that, I'll be good 👍

Any ideas about where i can get a replacement for the plastic piece that fills up water to be turned into ice cubes?
