The US pint is 16 fluid ounces where as the UK pint is 20 fluid ounces so our gallon is 32 fluid ounces bigger than the US . Have fun on the Hntr it is a great little bike .
And more importantly, there are 96 imperial teaspoons in an imperial pint. Every little helps!

@@Jim-nm1en much like their spelling of words like colour and through they simplified things like 16 oz to the pound and pint . Though why they didn’t adopt the metric system and centigrade is beyond me.
1000ml = 1litre.....1litre coincidentally = 1kg.....1000kg = 1ton......1ton = 1000litres.....I could go on but won't....ah, metric, it works so well and it's so simple no conversation is ever required 😂😅😊

I must admit,after trading in my 1050 vstrom for an RE interceptor I've become a enfield fan boy,great bikes.
US gallon is about 3.5l and a UK gallon is about 4.5l.
I was about to comment that. I found that out when I moved to the US from the UK and a urinal in a public toilet said ‘1 US Gallon (3.7 liters) flush’. 😅
I've had my Royal Enfield classic 500 since 2015 from brand new, and I love it! I know its not the Hunter, but thumping along 'old school style' I hope puts a smile on your face and flies on your teeth! 😁

The mileage difference is because the UK gallon is close to 5 litres and a US gallon is close on 4 litres :)
Hehe, love the colour sympathy with you coat, trainers and the bike! Such a charming put-put noise too! The Matt blue is so nice also! Cute bike. Oh and US gallons are smaller than UK gallons, hence the difference in stats.

I've owned one of these for over a year. I love it. Great daily city commuter. Fun to ride. I replaced the harsh rear shocks with YSS ones and have the DNA air filter kit. Interested to see what you think.
Lovely bike to ride, looks and sounds great and very well priced.....but I just found it too slow. Fine for commuting and the odd B road but absolutely flat out just to keep up on dual carriageways and on the limits of the tyres, felt unsafe.

Saffy, there is the Imperial gallon (or UK gallon) which you use in the UK, and then there is the US gallon which they use over there. 106 miles pr Imperial gallon equal only 88 miles pr US gallon since US gallons are smaller than imperial gallons. But since the tank holds only 2.86 Imperial gallons, but whopping 3.43 US gallons, the total range on the bike will stay the same in UK and US, i.e. just above 300 miles on a tank, or 480 km, which actually is quite impressive i think. My VN 900 runs about 55 mpg, my VN 2000 just above 40 mpg (that is with me riding them, others range may vary wildly, especially for the VN 2000), and with their 21 liters tank I usually get about 400 km (250 miles) on the VN 900 and about 300 km (190 miles) on my VN 2000. On long journeys at a more easy pace, they drink less though. Lucky you that can ride a bike at this time of year! I can only hope for all the snow from this winter will melt away before the next winter starts.🙏

Blue's my favourite too. However had to get an Austrian 🍊 being a digital aficionado. The hunter feels like a vibrator on steroids once it crosses 60 kmph. Just rode the Speed 400 a few days ago. The refinement and suspensions are next level. Overall experience, It's a KTM under Triumph skin.

The indian gallon is also the same as u.s. Which i found out so as to work out the new himi,s mpg.
Well I've owned mine for 10 months, didn't know it had a usb, I will go looking tomorrow 😮... I test rode the triumph speed 400 today, although I liked the engine, the feel isn't half as good as the hunter ❤

I loaned a Hunter while the usb on my Himayan got fixed. The Hunter was fun, like riding a Staffordshire terrier. Small, tough, built. The small front wheel made the bike agile but twitchy.
Hi Saffy. I feel your pain after the Nordkapp trip. Please keep us informed if we could help in some way. If possible my solution would be to wait until the spring and travel from Honningsvåg southbound. Or get the bike on the Hurtigruten to Bergen and go home from there. Anyway,I admire your travels. Saffy, are you restricted to mileage on a demo bike and what happens if you damage it?
No mileage restriction. If you rent a demo bike from a dealership and damage it, you're liable for the excess charge, if you loan it from the companies specific press fleet, it has special reporter insurance which they would claim on :-) this is why I don't loan demo bikes from shops and have them dropped off at my house

Interesting that you find analog confusing, I'm generation X and it's said that we were analog as children and digital as Adults, I also grew up with Imperial measurment system as a child but am much more comfortable with metric as an adult, a litre is the same in the UK as it is in Timbuktu, it's only Imperial where it gets confusing when a Gallon is different, in different countries and don't get me started on thread pitches, there are tons of differnt types in the Imperial system BA,BSC,BSF,BSP,BSTP,BSW,CEI,UNC,UNF,ME,BSB etc. there's only one to worry about in metric.

What happened to your reviews of the Hunter
Americans are trying to confuse you. US gallons are smaller, so they would report a lower mpg, but their miles are identical, so the tank should take you the same distance, give or take. as we have better petrol higher octane you may get a little more range.
US gallons are smaller than our Imperial gallon, so there is your difference.
I have the meteor 350. the same motor. I get 83 to 90 Mpg
As if all the wonky non-metric measures weren't bad enough already, gallons are not gallons and miles not miles. One Imperial Gallon is 4.54 litre, one U.S. Gallon is 3.78 litres. So the volume of the imperial Gallons is bigger than the wimpy U.S. Gallon (as if there weren't enough room for bigger gallons there…), so you get both more statute miles and nautical miles from an Imperial gallon.
In both measures the economy of that bike is quite impressing, better than many 50cc scooters!

Try to keep the bike clean Saffy. Enjoy the ride and scrub those tyres in before going off road.
No LED headlight. Also, I really don't like the tank, as there seems to be a large gap from the tank to the fork head, making the tank look like it as come from a smaller bike.

would soon get used to having to use a real clock lol and yes you are missing something US gallons are smaller than real British gallons, another thing Yankified for the worse lol, and that is a good looking bike, wish they would make an old skool Trail bike based on the Hunter, wouldn't need many changes to look authentic and work as needed

1 uk gallon is 1.20 US gallons.
