as a lions fan, i have nothing but respect for Jefferson. dude did an incredible job.
Dan Campbell is by far the biggest acquisition any Detroit sports team has made since the Tigers traded for Miguel Cabrera in 2007.
I'm not sure this gets done without Sheila bring in Chris Spielman to set a plan. I think that was the move that triggered the success that is happening now.

Weird choice by the Vikings to spike the ball on 4th and 1 and turn the ball over on downs but I'm glad the Lions were able to get it done.

Two things have happened more recently then the Model T that are more important:
1. Berry Gordy Jr. founding Motown Records
2. The 1968 Tigers virtually saving the city right after the 12th Street Riots of the previous year

But at the end of the day, it wouldn't make sense for it to happen any other way. The offense stalls, the defense is looking like they're going to blow every chance they can to seal it, here we go: same ol Lions.....
and then they hit us with the "gotcha" moment that let us know those days are finally over. They gave us one last taste of that SOL heartbreak that we've grown all too familiar with, before they showed us why these are the brand new Lions

@@dylanjolet5996 still and all..... Usually when you see 3rd and 27, that doesn't get converted against good teams.
And also, usually good teams recover that fumble as well, and the 3rd and 27 doesn't even happen.
I'm not saying the Lions aren't good, I'm saying USUALLY that doesn't happen to good teams. But it's something that always seemed to happen to the Lions. No matter what. They found the most insane, heart wrenching ways to lose time and time again, and it was looking like this was going to be no different.
Except it was.
This is a different team, and a different franchise. The SOL narrative is dead. Whatever misfortunes they experience from this point on will not be a part of the SOL narrative anymore. It will simply be a bump in the road that all good teams face. These new Lions are for real.
Shout-out to Chris Speilman, Brad Holmes and MCDC on delivering the division in the time frame that they set out to do from day one. #OnePride

It might not have happened last season but this team is something special owner gm and head coach have built a fantastic roster that has only gotten better this team is ready to gun for the superbowl lions i hope its you vs my eagles in the NFC championship game next year

I fully blame him for being lost out there like he has been all year. How do you not realize the situation there? U fall on the ball the game is over. Guess his football instinct is shit because the play is to fall on it all day. He was being selfish there thinking he was going to scoop and score it. As bad as a play as you'll see, iffy bailed him out big time

As I was watching this, I had the sinking feeling that it was going to be the SOL losing this in the closing seconds of the game. Nope, there are new sheriffs in town - Hamp, Holmes, and Campbell..
Cominsky trying to scoop the fumble only to lose it to then give up 3 & 27 was as SOL as it gets. But then Iffy buried it once and for all. Sheila Brad and Dan have built a legit organization and this really is only the beginning. Hard to believe how many good players they have now just 3 short years from Bob Quinns roster. The best position I've ever seen the lions in in my almost 3 decades of fandom.
@@joshlewis575 - I'm 56. I was born there. I don't ever remember them being this good. Dan Campbell is the real deal, and so is this team. Every time they've suffered a loss that would have thrown them into Loser Mode, Campbell has known how to keep them on track, overcoming errors, solving problems and moving forward.

At 2:06 when the official spots the ball, the ball is at the 43 yard line. The camera moves away and then when it comes back at 2:11, the ball is half a yard farther forward. Possibly rendering the spot fairly moot, at 0:28, you can see the first down marker at the top of the screen, just short of the 43, which means regardless of the spot, it was likely a first down. However, at 3:27 you can see that the opposite side of the field is actually the stick side, meaning what we saw at 0:28 is the flop side; we would hope it would be accurate with the stick side, but sometimes it is not.
Iffy is going to keep getting better. Probowl starter next year

I was so annoyed, the commishs regression has been frustrating all year and then that bone headed play. Fall on the ball and take 2 knees its over. But hes trying to scoop and run. Wtf was he doing?!?! He's lucky they got the pick because that play would be talked about relentlessly for how dumb it was.

lol makes me laugh. Saying Justin Jefferson went up over 2 defenders. Considering both defenders were behind him. all he had to do was catch the ball. Calvin Johnson, iv watched him being surrounded by 3 players, jump up and get thr ball. that's impressive. JJ was just a normal catch.

I suffer from Post Traumatic LIONS SYNDROME! PTLS--- When they were 3rd and 27, I was like well a throw to Jefferson for a completion was coming and it did. I literally lost my mind. I have to watch the games by myself as I'm a 55-year-old having a 4-year-old temper tantrum. When Iffy made the interception, I was still livid as he was running around and all I could envision was that ball getting knocked out before he would just sit the heck down. I couldn't even enjoy the win. At this point glad they got the W and I don't care anymore as we made the playoffs. They could lose out rest of the season and lose the playoff game and I'm just happy they made it this far. Maybe I'm on the road to recovery?

It's like the football gods thought we were the same old Lions again with the bumbled fumble & then the Vikings coming up half a yard short, it clearly being 4th down & 1, them spiking it but the officials just acting like it was a first down already anyways. Then, in a villian-esque turn of events, the Brand New Lions reminded the football gods that we run this now.

I don't understand by him being a head coach. How come he can't set down with Jared golf and explain to him? He must get rid of that ball within 3 seconds. He holds the ball too long. And that's what's causing all the problems with him. Getting Sack getting intercepted missing his players with the ball because he hangs onto it too long. He did the same thing with the rams. He's doing the same thing here. 3 seconds the ball should be gone.
