Re-watching this after the Lions clinched the NFC North in Minneapolis on Christmas Eve. What an incredible journey this team has been on under Dan Campbell.
To their own peril. Meathead Dan Campbell is going to cost them a lot of games the next few years. I mean JFC, going for it from your own 20 with 4 minutes to go, sitting on a 2 point lead lol.
@@reignman30 it was the right call. Think of it this way, the Lions had only one time out. If they kick the ball away, that gives the Vikings the opportunity to methodically move the ball down field, burn the clock, and win on a last second field goal. If you go for it on fourth down and make the first, you keep burning the clock. If you don't make it or your opponent gets the ball, there is no possible way they can burn all the time off the clock and you try to hold them to a field goal attempt. If they miss, you win, if they don't you get the ball back with time on the clock. Sure, it was a risk, but take the point of view from the coach with the number of last minute scores by their opponents - including these same Vikings - where they didn't get an opportunity to possess the ball again this entire year. Something had to be done differently and that was it.
I'll keep coming back to this. Not just for their first win in 2021. But, I feel, that this is the moment where the first solid building block of this team was layed into the foundation of what has come since. One Pride!!!

I feel so good for the Lions. But only for them but for the thousands of fans who will get through their hopelessness to fight another day. Sports truly save lives. Nobody in life should go winless.

I love what this team has become. If any Panthers fans come across this comment, never give up like us Lions fans never have.
So proud of my Lions we never quit. we kept fighting and the football gods awarded us. long overdue and great for the Oxford victims to give them something to cheer about after tragedy.
This game showed me how much those players love and respect Coach Dan Campbell. They have bought into what he's selling. Congratulations Lions Nation. You earned and deserved that win.#OnePride
Lions fan here in Detroit. Damn this feels like a damn NFC Conference Final win or something lmao Had me smiling ear to ear. I say this all the time, if the Lions ever win the super bowl it might go down as the greatest Super Bowl of all time up to that point. That’s something we at least got as hope for Lions fans. Dude the whole league would be in tears if that happens.
Favorite video to come back to. It was a lot of silly mistakes (fumbling a snap in the rain, phantom holding calls, blown coverages, etc) that year, but this win was everything. And soon after, we destroyed the top seed cardinals (who’ve never recovered)
watching this after we beat the bucs to go to the NFCCG. Man I love this team. And truly, it started with this win. The following season helped cause it showed that if we believed we could do it. But this win will always be one of my favorites as a Lions fan.
Interesting the officials didn't miss calling delay of game on the Lions. They mysteriously missed calling delay of game on the Ravens, six weeks ago. The Lions really beat the Ravens. There should of been a 5 yard delay of game call on the Ravens. The field goal attempt would of been 73 yards. The Ravens would of went for a last gasp hail Mary.
Bro i was thinking the exact same thing. Not to mention the ravens delay of game was very obvious and they hiked the ball a whole second late. Not like here where it almost shouldnt of even been called
@@ravensfan1016 it doesn't change the fact the fg attempt should of been 73 yard attempt. The officials knew it. The league couldn't have the Ravens losing to the Lions, especially when all corporate sports pundits and Las Vegas picked Baltimore to blow out the Lions.
I feel for the Lions. All these years and few playoff trips. I watched them play back in the Greg Landry days. A long time ago. Not really a fan, but they always played on Thanksgiving. Didn't think then they would be any different than most teams, at least one trip to the big game. Now it would honestly make me happy to see them get there once before I punch the final clock!
Any one else got this Jem on their feed. Just to watch and have tears welt up to see a winless team finally get that W. don’t matter what NFL team you go for. We all Celebrated That W with the Lions!
I know with 10 losses there's no chance to get into the playoffs nowadays, but damn.... I know they felt like they just won the NFC Championship!! Kudos to Goff for knowing they had 'em beat on those post runs down the middle. That's the only reason they made it as far as they did. That area behind the defensive line was open for days!! 😊🤘🤘
Damn I don't think that I've ever been as hyped for a team that wasn't my own 😂. And I think it's because of the heart that this team has week in and week out. Plus with me being a Rams fan, it's nice to see Jared Goff leading his new team to victory
As a Pats fan I love to see this. I've always admired Lions fans for sticking by their team. The Patriots had their period of sucking badly so you never know how things will play out
The truth is the Ford Family is the problem. There might be a chance if we could get them to sell the team to someone competent. It's not like the fan base doesn't support the team, and despite the narratives, there is some money in Metro Detroit. The Ford Family just doesn't know what they're doing in running this organization.
@Agent Itz Ninjamaster I mean Kendrick’s was injured so was cook, thielen, hunter, everson, so how is that fair. We beat the packers when we had a full squad and the packers are the best team in the nfl
So, I'm at a bar in Atlanta with a bunch of other people watching our Falcons lose again. And then they switch to this game. EVERYONE in the bar instantly became Lions Fans😂🦁Congrats!
I cried after the win. It was such a emotional day to start with due to the fact in a suburban high school in Oxford Twp just 5 days earlier suffered a mass shooting there killing students and a town heartbroken. Coach Campbell and the Lions had already dedicated this game to Oxford Twp and high school and he had a few of the parents of the victims at the game with him. Then for the Lions to win like this on the last play of the game for their first win and I cried my eyes out and for atleast a quick moment the people of Oxford could have a smile on their face and I don't think there were to many dry eyes in Detroit that day.
Cousins: 30/40 for 340 yards and 2 TDS / 0 ints. Also drove 70 yards snd scored a go ahead touchdown with 1:20 left in the game but yeah Kirk isn’t good, moron.

I'm an Eagles fans, but today am also a Lions fan - so happy for their fans, they needed this win today. And what a way to get that 1st dub too...

Your Eagles got a much needed win today as well.
@@RYMAN1321 Yes indeed! Still alive going into the bye...
The moment I stopped thinking of football in terms of playoffs and started watching it for the individual game was the moment I started to love it. The roar from the crowd at the end... that's what it's about.
I feel so good for the Lions. But only for them but for the thousands of fans who will get through their hopelessness to fight another day. Sports truly save lives. Nobody in life should go winless.
I cried and I'm a Titans fan
If you didn’t tear up for MCDC, you’re not human 😀
Why...
Lol.
I hope they get a super Bowl win sometime soon, but Henry getting injured I feel derailed it :(
@@RYMAN1321 He comes back for the playoffs
Im not even gonna lie. I was almost in tears watching this live and Im a Ravens fan 😂Detroit deserves this more than anything
Bears fan here. I can feel your pain when you're losing and I know the feeling to win a game like this one. I'm very happy for the team and the fans! I hope there are more wins to come for the Lions.
It's amazing watching this now and all the emotion, and seeing how far they've come since then. Now the Lions are NFC North champions and won their first playoff game in 33 years. I love what this team has become. If any Panthers fans come across this comment, never give up like us Lions fans never have.
To me, a 52 year old man, watching Goff hug his coach says it all. It's not premeditated...it's what you feel and believe. This was a joy to watch.
Only the Vikings could beat the packers and lose to the lions
One of the most volatile and unreliable franchises this year.
Mike Zimmer.

@@c_games5665 That zany Mike Zimmer...
I know this year is rough for the lions (new coach and qb), but I hope they do better next year after regrouping and ideally doing a solid draft.
So proud of my Lions we never quit. we kept fighting and the football gods awarded us. long overdue and great for the Oxford victims to give them something to cheer about after tragedy.
The reaction after that pass for the win was like they won the SUPER BOWL! I'm not a Lions fan, but you've got to give it to them. Nice win Detriot!
This game showed me how much those players love and respect Coach Dan Campbell. They have bought into what he's selling. Congratulations Lions Nation. You earned and deserved that win.#OnePride
Man the way Geoff hugged his head coach. 😭 you got one coach. Keep fighting every game
I think you meant to say Goff.
Rip Viking's kneecaps.

Bears fan here! Congrats to the Lions, y’all deserved this one.
i love the Lions' effort here. on the final drive after every play the receivers would run back to the line to preserve clock. Hustling on every play.
I’m From Chicago but Tears was Streaming Down My Face To See Detroit Finally WIN
The Lions winning the super bowl would be the biggest celebration in American sports history. I’m not even sure Metro Detroit would survive it
That crowd erupting when he caught it and won the game was fkn epic
They got a Christmas miracle 🎄
Gave me chills watching it live. Great weekend for the state of Michigan. We needed it after the Oxford HS incident.
For the entire game that stadium sounded like a crypt. I thought maybe it was 2020 again and the stadium was empty.
@@silverking8742 👍
@@stephensdygert7600 Hollywood really “beat” the Ravens. You mention the delay of game but not the 3 touchdowns he dropped.
@@stephensdygert7600 and you blame it on the Delay of game like Detroit didnt give up a 4th and 19 💀
@@ravensfan1016 it doesn't change the fact the fg attempt should of been 73 yard attempt. The officials knew it. The league couldn't have the Ravens losing to the Lions, especially when all corporate sports pundits and Las Vegas picked Baltimore to blow out the Lions.
"And in other new today, it was reported that Hell froze over". Been a Lions fan all of my life. It was nice to see them win a damn game.
As a Packer fan congrats lions that right there was what #ONEPRIDE LOOKS LIKE
Any one else got this Jem on their feed. Just to watch and have tears welt up to see a winless team finally get that W. don’t matter what NFL team you go for. We all Celebrated That W with the Lions!
Gotta love the crowd’s reaction 16:57
I know with 10 losses there's no chance to get into the playoffs nowadays, but damn....
I know they felt like they just won the NFC Championship!!
Kudos to Goff for knowing they had 'em beat on those post runs down the middle.
That's the only reason they made it as far as they did. That area behind the defensive line was open for days!! 😊🤘🤘
congrats lions, As a jet fan I feel your pain, but your loyalty to your team is commended, I always root for you guys
Came to look back at this now gives me goosebumps ain’t gonna lie
Should check out the Sights And Sounds of Week 13 posted on the Lions YT Channel. Tear-jerker
Damn I don't think that I've ever been as hyped for a team that wasn't my own 😂. And I think it's because of the heart that this team has week in and week out. Plus with me being a Rams fan, it's nice to see Jared Goff leading his new team to victory
Lions has that affect on people. This is what the Lions culture is like. It’s a humble culture.
So happy for them even though I'm not a Lions fan, it's nice to see them win a game.
Greatest moment in Detroit Lions history
This could be the game that pushes them into a playoff team next year. I can see the documentary now....

Maybe a Super Bowl win 40-50 years from now.
Great moment but with lions I think of Barry Sanders moments.
Everyone roots for the underdog, glad to see them pull of a final seconds win
Detroit fought for that touchdown as if they were in the Superbowl. Congrats for a hard-won walk-off victory.
@@scratchpenny c'mon man Sheila is doing good so far as the owner she got rid of Patricia Quinn that was a great start lol
The Lions have had the ability to score all season. They have/had trouble keeping the other teams from scoring and trouble closing out games.
So happy for the Lions and their fans. Congratulations Lions!! What a great ending!
I know right. They are celebrating like they just won the superbowl
The crowd erupting was so awesome!
2 years later they won the division and got 12 wins 🥳
Congrats to you Lions fans! From Los Angeles.
I'm a huge Packers fan but even I had a tear in my eye watching them celebrate. They were close in a number of games and finally pulled out the win!
Im so hyped for Detroit 😂 And I'm a bucs fan by the way, yall deserved this one💪🔥

Bears fan here but glad to see they finally got a win.
When we win the Super Bowl, they will say “This is where it all began”.
A very happy Packers fan here. The Lions have heart. No doubt. Congrats Detroit.
I teared up and actually shouted out loud with joy when I watched this by myself
If I'm the Vikings I'm saying these 4 words: Mike Zimmer.....YOU'RE FIRED!!!
*Vince McMahon Enters The Chat*
I will say kirky you are weak. Kirky run some plays under center that are kinda like high school footballs 🤣
Cousins: 30/40 for 340 yards and 2 TDS / 0 ints. Also drove 70 yards snd scored a go ahead touchdown with 1:20 left in the game but yeah Kirk isn’t good, moron.
@@lukasb4497 in my opinion, Kirk Cousins isn't a bad QB.
the defensive coordinator made the mistake here. Why the corners gave that big of cushion is beyond me.
