I was looking for this comment, thank you 😂
Joker
"I spent my days drinking, clowning." The noun "clown" didn't enter the English language until 1560 (nearly 200 years after Henry V), and the verb form of the word, "clowning," didn't appear until 1848. A more accurate phrase would have been "I spent my days drinking, and in harlotry."
Underrated comment 😭
Robert Pattinson was amazingly hillarious in this. Wildly outrageous, but in the most fun way possible
Why I wasn’t convinced of his French trying to speak English accent
Big balls small penis
His part was small and he was in this boring and historically messed up flick only for a little comic relief. Btw, the French Dauphin was not even at the Battle of Agincourt.
@@jabom99 You seem to fail to understand the movie you were watching. This was not meant to be an historical account but rather fictional entertainment based on Shakespeare's Henriad which incidentally is also fiction meant for entertainment purposes. As true with any movie, filmmakers take creative liberties with stories and characters. So to argue whether the Dauphin was at the battler of Agincourt is an effort in futility.
@@mcbc5189 I understand that. I just think that basing a film on a fiction and adding more fiction is an effort in futility. And, it was also boring AF. The battle scenes were especially bad.

I like the way the movie didn’t focus so much on the romance like if this was a typical film Henry and the girl (idk her name lily rose depp plays her) would’ve met and like fallen in love and it would have been this big fantasy thing but it focused on him and his struggles which I really really liked.
The girls gets him to question all his motives and morals, I'd say she induced one of the most important scenes in the whole movie.
Its based on Henry V by Shakespeare. It actually injects more romance (as the play had none) but as you say, it's still very reserved and lends to the film brilliantly.
I didn’t see that scene coming with Catherine. It hit me like a ton of bricks.
Same! Although, her presence in this movie was deeply resounding. As few of words as there was between them, you could sense this unbreakable bond they had for each other and the part they were to play in their future, and how greatly her words influenced him as he quickly saw and respected the wisdom she had to offer him (rather than belittling her and believing his every decision was right and just). This, I felt was more romantic than any of the "romanticized" films I've seen of King Henry.
@@bloedjohan7602 no, his friend Sir John did. He asked Henry before, “do you know why we’re fighting them? If not, better come up with a good damn lie.” The girl was the one who bought the thought back into his head, but Sir John introduced it.

This film is absolutely brilliant with another career defining performance from Chalamet. Netflix is finally in the game!
Matthew of Bristol used as Henry's flagship. Very proud to have been a crew member on the day.
I watched this movie for 6 times now and every single scene is so full of power and impressions, i just cant get enough from it
Roberts character literally will have people bring a chair wherever he goes-in his kingdom-in the forest-insert funny place where a chair isn't normally found
The soundtrack was the best part. Especially the song when the trebuchet was in action!
agreed, my favourite part was when they were landing in france though
Exactly. I’ve been listening to the soundtrack constantly. It’s really is one of the best
Agreed! The soundtrack fits the times. You feel transported to 1415.
@@brendakipkemoi2738 Actual music from those times sounded very different from what we hear in movies. Music is added to films to dramatise things. Most music at this time was strictly acclesiastical and even when it wasn't, it was very rustic - flutes, horn pipes and lap fiddles etc. Historical films have damaged peoples' perception of what these times were actually like. There are things that I did like about this film being the painted interiors although very dim and when in some of the rooms it is as if the filming was done in the evening.
And when have we ever seen what feels like such realistic trebuchet use in movies? Hardly any music playing, just the eeriness of these beautiful deadly fireworks flying through the sky! Or the rolling around in mud during battles, for that matter? This movie communicates differently!
I keep watching this movie over and over.
I love this type of movies no CGI s.
