This is interesting considering the fact that I'm currently looking for the solution to my mother's Janome jamming problem.

    great video thank you
I have a janome MC 10000 the top rod is really stuck fast very hard to turn , I looked at everything and it seems as the top is jammed or something, could you tell me is there a consistent problem with these machines something to steer me in the right direction to repair it, also the repair manual lacks any info on this problem?

Sounds like the "floating bobbin" might be about the best invention ever. Earlier this year, I thought of some things I would like to make. I tried to learn to make a few things on the sewing machine and using the Singer Classic I bought was hell on earth. I spent 90% of the time unjamming it and cursing the machine. Just looking at the design, the bobbin case has this metal hook, which is suppose to allow the thread to make it through, while keeping that black thing that holds the bobbin from spinning. It was always jamming up as the threads got caught on the hook and piled up, till the twisted the black tray.
"Jamproof" seems like a big claim, but would you say the chance of a jam up is very small? I need a sewing machine which is a lot more reliable than the Singer.

Jamproof, yeah right. I've done everything short of becoming an engineer to figure out why my Janome keeps jamming. I've done all the obvious things and more.

Did you try taking it to an authorized Janome dealer? When timed properly, the your machine should not jam up. Try taking it in for a tune-up, and let them know what it's doing. They should be able to figure it out for you!

I've been sewing for more than 10 years and I've never experienced a more horrible sewing machine. I've had my Janome for 9 months only but it keeps jamming. I've tried everything!

Mine is jammed for the 3rd time. Every time I try to sew sheer fabric, or quilt too heavy duty (its a quilters dream model) i get a bird nest going and then have to take it to the shop. Doesnt matter if i get all of the thread out of the jam, it is out of adjustment and errors out. Im kinda done with it.

I have a memory craft 11000. I have had trouble with a jamming bobbin from the start. I have lost count of the number of floating bobbins I have bought. I have now decided to throw it in the bin. The machine cost me £4,000 9 years ago. Never will I buy a Janome again
