Kevin is on fire this track. The right voicings in exactly the right place. This is how you keyboard.
KG is so unassuming, but often unleashes 🔥
yeaa! the board has been keyed correctly :D
how much DMB can a guy listen to and then make an instrumental band?
Yes! This totally (and immediately) reminded me of intros they’ve done for Pantala Naga Pampa / Rapunzel.
😂
Under the Table and Dreaming on Repeat. Thanks for sharing 🎉❤
Didn’t see this comment but always heard the heartbeat jam in here. Love it
The beginning of “Say Goodbye”
One thing I see here is mastery of instruments, and more importantly, joy on every musician's face. The whole scene (of joy and mastery) reminds me of the live performances captured on UA-cam of the George Duke trio, circa 2010. Cory Wong can do no wrong!
Wow, this really shows a different side of Kenni's playing! So sweet and lyrical.
yeah - so this sounds amazing...
I didn't understand the title of this song......then I closed my eyes and listened......felt like I was HOME
I'm rarely at a loss for words, but you can stop me at One more
WOWZAH!!!
@Cory_Wong If you can tell me who started Patreon, you are not a bot and I''d be glad to talk to you
Beautiful. I grew up seeing bands here. Many bands. Bowie when he made his live lp was here all week. Wishbone Ash with Laurie Wisefield. He was a guy who got the best tone out of each guitar and it sounded wonderful there! I saw Satriani. I saw Randy Hansendo the best Hendrix tribute ever in 1979 at the Tower. Eric Johnson. Al Dimeola Some of his tracks on his live record where from the Tower. Zappa was great here. Rush. UFO With Schenker. And Chapman. I saw the incredible Tommy Bolin here! Saw Frampton ,Schon. And many others. What a venue! Holy Smokes!
Really gives me Takanaka vibes, Very vibrant, very melodic, very relaxing.
Reminds me so much of some Flecktones, but on VHS. Thanks for sharing.
LOL
When you take an already great song and let the musicians interpret it in a new way.
It's unique but still has the reminiscence of the original recording.
I'm loving this!
First couple minutes with just drums, keyboard, bass, and soprano - shades of first Weather Report Album with Miroslav Vitus. Morphed into a completely different tune after that!
What is the song I need to listen to from that album?
Absolutely beautiful. Great musicianship as always, but breathtaking and mesmerising. Thanks Cory. You’re an inspiration. 🥁🤗🥁
That snare / spring sounds amazing.
the spring reverb on those toms is a very pleasant touch i didn't catch live.
i put it on last minute when mixing this in the studio the other day. just put some more vibe on it
@@CoryWongMusic Really nice! Thought it was set from the stage! I'm learning precious stuff about production watching your videos where you break down some of your tunes, opening their pro tools sessions. I've discovered your art since almost 2 months I think, listened almost everything and I must say that your sense of rhythm and composition skills are absolutely off the scales. This song - and the improvised part you delivered in it - prooves that! If I could, I'd certainly be in the G4 Experience just to have the honor to shake your hands and learn more from you.
@@CoryWongMusic would love a live sesh breakdown
@@neonrecording if a sesh is an hour, that's a LOT of editing.
@@neonrecording their show is three hours, and Cory kinda calls it on the fly.
Jeez Kenni... what a talented musician
Tower "Theatre" brings back those memories when I was here to see the show. Thanks, for the great work Cory and bringing my younger years back home to me from PA.
sending you text Cory
The vibes here are truly immaculate
THIS is a brilliant melodic masterpiece. It just transports me somewhere really wonderful. THANK YOU!
Love the keys
cory's solo goes crazyy
Said in with several vids of Cory and his band, but the musical versatility of this band is REALLY brilliant!
The whole thing is just spectacular, but Cory’s playing from ~ 6:03 until the end… man oh man. Just absolutely synced with his instrument. Don’t even know what else to say.
I thought the solo was quite underwhelming. It's technically sound but lacking in expression
Very reminiscent of the Paul Winter Consort.
Can't wait to see you guys in Feb in DC!!
Woow! A very Toto-ish drums' groove
I'm getting some heavy Dave Matthews Band vibes from this. Kinda reminds me of something they used to do like with LeRoi back in the day during the intro before they play into something chill. Still one of my favourite songs you've written, Cory.
I got a Weather Report vibe too for a moment.
@@darylching Sonny was definitely channeling Jaco for a little bit
Wow. This was next level
Reminds me of Bob james with Earl klug 80's jazz(spelling on klug?) Lovely album thou..I'm now off to put the album on..
I'm definitely a Petar fan 👊
Love this ! I can't wait to see you in Brussels!
4:3 is a simpler polyrhythm than 16:9
Nah!!…really!
Holy shit this guys a genius
Can't wait to see yall play live again. This is, imo, one of the most GOATED groups on the planet!
Wow...reminds me a bit of the bands Oregon / Yellowjackets / Bob James. Sweet!!
So good to have you guys in this crazy world and on the interweb for us to follow! Wonderful piece of music again.
Have yourself a smooth XMas holiday!!!
Even BETTER at second listen.
Cory’s playing here really reminds me of Trey Anastasio. Awesome stuff
One of my favorite Wong Songs's
9+ minutes and all can think is I wish it lasted longer!
Wow that actually made me tear up
this song is magic ! each time you ear, !
really fine and inventive solo. Superb!
Wow, great soprano solo!
Fantastic, down that road please.
Kenni Holmen is an enigma. What's going on under that hat? Something is going on with that dude
Goddamnit I was supposed to go to this show
Wonderful.
sooooo..... live album in the future????????? that takes the album version to another level and then some
Wow
That opening could've come right out of the Cowboy Bebop soundtrack.
Yeah Space Lion
Awesome rendition of an amazing song!
AWESOME!!!!!!!!
Cory Wong big band!!
Love the hot mix 🔥
Spring reverb on drums? Nice!
Big ol DMB vibes
Lighting makes Sonny, Petar, and Kevin look like ghosts.
... is that a flugabone that i see Michael Nelson playing back there?
Kenni was channeling his inner Kenny g there for a minute
Nice!
Hey Cory, do you plan on making a studio version of Brooklyn Bop and maiking it avaiable on spotify? It's a great song and I would love to see it on spotify
working on it!
@@CoryWongMusic omg can't wait! I presume it'll be on a new album...
@@thmsrttg if I had to guess, probably the best takes from the whole last tour.
@@CoryWongMusic Hey, awsome looking forward to it!
That's Great 🙌🔥
I can see myself haha great show
Would love to see Cory Wong tour with Dirty Loops.
OMG yes. I was considering flying from Wisconsin to Stockholm on the off chance that Dirty Loops might be a surprise guest on that stop of his European tour.
@@johngalvin4271 Gonna see them both this fall and I'm so stoked. FYI Dirty Loops is playing two shows in Stockholm on the 21-22th Sep so you could catch both Cory and the Loops if you time it right :)
@@MrKage5 I'm jealous. The Cory Wong show in Stockholm is now sold out. Both shows should be insane! I'm very curious if one band is going to show up as special guests at the other band's show. If so, I hope it is recorded for the rest of us to see...
Great old video!
If you step out of line, Cory Wong is "band leader" and he will fire you!
Cory, can we be friends? 😂 that would be awesome
The intro gives me Space lion(cowboy bebop OST) vibes.
Is it possible to have this version on spotify or somewhere where It can be purchased ?
👍👍👍👌
ARGENTINA CAMPEÓN WACHO
@corywonusic is Sonny T going to be on your spring tour in addition to Victor Wooten?
yes!
@@CoryWongMusic its too good to be true! I'm driving my family 700 miles to go see your show at the Ryman in Feb!
This one reminds me Sixun univers!Louis Winsberg, Paco Serry, Michel Allibo.....Listen the Lunatic Assylum LP, you all agreed with me!🥂🙏💐🎅🍆
Dang
When you get so deep/advanced in your own style that the stuff you play sounds melodic to you and dissonant to mainstream society, but you continue anyway because progress is just what you do.
That fretless bass is insane. Is that Victor?
Edit: it is not
Sunny T, he is indeed a fantastic bassist.
@@thegrahammer Sunny D(elight) is an orange drink. Sonny T. is bass royalty 😉
Oh ok, some Spyro Gyra influences ...
Yo WHAT is that chord at 1:02 ?!?!?!?
Db+ I think
Great stuff, I just miss Jon Batiste!
What happened to the percussionist?
Nêgah Santos was probably back at her other gig, percussionist on the Late Show with Stephen Colbert.
First
I never really enjoyed going to shows like this with “easy listening” style of music unless it was a show at a festival and was able to get all doped up and watch…. Othrwise its all just standing looking and the few that dance are all awkward n stuff.. and end up on youtube in a video.. lol.
I see someone has been listening to Metheny & The yellowjackets!!!
@@alcraig1 I’m talking about the vibe of this tune!…Who mentioned anything about the solo??
