People are so damn awful at doing the most basic thing of clicking the auto whisper button, having the currency ready, clicking accept on the invite to party, joining hideout and WAITING FOR ME to trade. You rarely get someone who actually does all those basic steps right. If they do all of the first ones then they get to your hideout and spam the trade on you for the item. The game feels like it was made for PC, and the controls are challenging for first-timers on console. I'm Sorry to everyone I've traded slowly with ✋😭
In Diablo, trading is straightforward and requires just a single button click. In contrast, Path of Exile (POE) has a more complicated process. To trade in POE, you first need to hold the X button to separate the items. Then, press Square to add them to the trade tab. After that, you have to press either X or Square again to confirm the trade. Be careful, though-if you accidentally press Square at the wrong moment, you could remove the item from the trade menu and return it to your inventory. If that happens, you'll need to hold down X again to separate those items for trade.

@@boneheadno What do you mean "worst take ever"? You complained about not being able to stand trading and swapping to SSF. Telling you, you do not have to do that and simply do not trade is not a "take" but simply advice (maybe sarcastic, maybe not). He explained his point poorly labeling my problems being with the market. It has nothing to do with the market. The market isn't as bad as the idiots. That's the point I was making. I, also, don't agree with the point of just ignoring trade. You're in a trade league. That's like telling people in an mmorpg that if they are getting griefed (legitimately equivalent to dealing with PoE 2 trade) that they can just ignore them. That isn't a good alternative and after reaching a breaking point of dealing with that in an inadequate manner I'll make the decision to play something else or play a private server alone. 8:30 im on an sdd and loading screens are long af too, its a major issue for me, loading screens, especially across realms when trading, can take up to 2 to 3 minutes, or straight up lock me in load jail forever.. For some reason, changing the upscaling method to the amd one shortens that significantly, and putting on a lower upscaling within that even more so.
POE 1 weeded out a lot of the morons. POE 2 has opened the door for everyone, including the morons. Best solution make in game "Bazaar" very much like the currency trader that takes gold to use. No scamming if it's automated.
I haven't done much trading in PoE 2 (I restarted 3 characters at this point for reasons) but this game AND PoE 1 badly need an in-game trading system like an auction house/market place. I personally love how FF14 does it which really isn't anything crazy or innovative. You just have to physically go to any city with a market board and search for an item and buy it. If someone lists the item, it is purchasable. Simple and fair. You put up an item, you have to sell it if I see it and buy it. You can't just sit on the item because you're too lazy to leave your map to trade it or be a filthy price fixer and force people to have to spam msg 15 people because the first 5-10 are price fixers.
First of all, I think it should be paid, like a stash. Plus make a limit on the number of sales per day, as it is done in Warframe. This will weaken attempts to manipulate the market.
Some of the mechanical issues and wrongly numbered stacks can probably be chalked up to people attempting to trade on controller. They really need to allow seamless switching back and forth.
I think we should all be happy that this is the standard of trading currently. We can force GGG's hand in changing or developing a fully fletched auction house trading thing where this kind of stuff is simply the past. I don't get why they still don't do it. The tech is already there. We can put stuff in our premium stash tabs, the site automatically registers it for the listed price. Now all that is missing is that if someone buys it, you automatically get the currency you asked for and the item goes to the buyer. Thats all they need to add here. They don't need to create the 'website' inside the game (though they could opt in to do that as well), intregrate the website in the game as the auction house. And directly buy from there. Either way, I think all these bad trades and experiences will ultimately force GGG's hand.
i tried to buy maps today and someone filled the whole trade window with headhunter belts that had exactly the same stats, something really weird is going on in the game
and their reasoning for not doing it and some of the players defending their reasoning is braindead. "but there will be bots". Well, there's bots here and timewasters anyway. Just put the goddam auto store in already
I would really love to get a auction house in the game because it fk up when people sell things for 1 exalt and then they write you "oh sorry I meant 1 divine" for an useless item or they never answer you.
Lily finally at the opinion I've been at for automated trading for the last 10 years. It's always been immersion breaking going to an external website and a waste of time where we could be actually playing that I'm pretty sure it has been kept around because it inflates recorded play hours. Anyone that knows anything about programming knows it's not hard to develop it. Especially with the currency exchange system already covering all the functionality except searching for non-currency items. If GGG would let me, I'd personally pay for a developer to make it happen.
Appreciate the detailed breakdown! A bit off-topic, but I wanted to ask: I have a SafePal wallet with USDT, and I have the seed phrase. (alarm fetch churn bridge exercise tape speak race clerk couch crater letter). How should I go about transferring them to Binance?
It's terrible. I wish that they would automate the process. Make an AH or market or something just don't make me have to manually trade. Also don't tell me to play SSF because I want the ability to trade, I just want it to be better.
0:18 come on man, you just had to remove the ten stack, thats the kind of person that will argue that cashier is scamming him, when he has to pay 12 dollars and can't understand why he is asked for 2 extra dollars after giving 20 bill
As someone who barely touched PoE1 and is just getting into PoE2 I have to say that I KINDA understand the whole people trading exalts instead of divines thing because that entire trading website UI FUCKING SUCKS dude. As a brand new player with zero experience I felt like I had to learn a whole ass new game mechanic just to understand that nightmare of a trading site. Thankfully I went searching for a guide and the person, I forget whose guide it was, pointed out the currency filter, and that made me realize that there were the two currencies, because at an initial glance it all just looked like the same to me.
People fall for those scams, that's why they do it. In PoE1 it didn't happen as often as there were less new players, but since there's so many new players, the scams do work. Not to mention our brains aren't yet used to the look of the new currency. We just need to get rid of the human interaction all together. PoE1 consoles already have this function, why isn't it on PoE2 by default?
You missing those people that list a item (usually its a expensive item that cost a couple div) and on the moment of the trade they put a simillar cheap item to scam you
If they aren't going to do an actual item auction house, then at least when someone initiates a trade with someone else via the website, just notify the other person of a trade and they can click on the notification to bring up a window, and force put the buy out currency and the item in the damn trade window. Then both parties either accept to do the trade or cancel. Hell that might even make it so someone can do a trade without having to abandon what they're currently doing, no need for the party joining nonsense. If you don't have the currency, the site shouldn't let you send the whisper. If it's a bid, then you put your bid into the site and it sends the bid to the seller, they either accept the bid to start the trade, or don't. I really don't get it, they let you list items from your stash and search across all people's stashes with advanced filters to find the perfect item, and then turn around and hit you with a late 1990's party manual trade window to finalize the trade.
They should just make auction house for items part of the endgame mechanic: maybe a special type of endgame maps like towers to allow you access to an auction house for items or endgame unique currency's to limit number of listing, figure it out and try something different. Maybe rework atlas tree or add options for people like me who hate trading as unique jewels you slot in atlas tree to make loot drops more deterministic or just new passive tree that gives X% for int gear to drop for example
Game is entirely unplayable on hard drive. That was the only space I had available so I tried it. 1 min+ loading screens and I’ve had several trades fall through because of it. Currently wiping my computer
For generic trades, I quite like the trade market in POE1 on consoles (don't believe it's a thing on PC). It can be quite clunky if there's too much of something for sale, especially if it can't be filtered by, say, the specific name of the item, and also the way the filter works is a bit dumb, but the tradeoff is quite nice: no interaction with people like in the video, you just get an offer and it waits for you to either accept or reject it. No need to get out of map, the two people don't even have to be online at the same time, the offer literally just waits there, it's quite convenient. Worst thing that can happen (aside from people trying to undercut or scam) is someone sending a dummy offer (like one wisdom scroll) on an unpriced item (yes, unpriced items are on the TM) hoping that you'll name your price, instead of making an actual offer. It could totally be improved but having both trading options is infinitely better than having to only rely on the trade site IMO.
I think the problem is for new players you have not felt the weight of the currency. It's just 1 random orb out of 10 and you have no concept of the difference between them.
Buyers sending party invites are super annoying too. Even if they are asking for an item I listed a while ago I i insta block the moment they party invite.
For people wondering why some trade behaviours seem weird - it's possible they are on console and still figuring out how to interact with the UI. Just splitting exalt orbs from a stack can be tedious. Also replying on console - that means 10-20 sec or even longer to open up the chat n type.
I haven't gotten even one trade like this, that's odd, they've nearly all been Koreans who do the trade instantaneously, or if they aren't Korean it takes about 10 seconds, but pretty much 100% of trades have gone smoothly
this is why we need ingame trading. no more scamming/false pricing/price fixing. and it's so annoying when you pm to buy items and they keep ignoring or ask for higher price
tbh this is normal SC trade behaviour. I haven't noticed anything unusual in my time and I've got 4 lv 80-90 characters and traded a bunch. It's pretty standard and I'm used to it but I can see how someone who usually plays HC can get a bit shellshocked over it That said I'd really love to see a proper auction house with buyout prices on items and see how the market reacts to that. The currency exchange test in PoE1 had no negative impact on economy and was a massive QoL boost for all players, universally loved. I really don't see how extending that to include all items could introduce any downsides. It would be nice to be able to accurately tell the price of an item, as right now lots of people dump tab items for 5ex or 1 div or whatever and won't actually do the trade. Only downside with auction house might be continuing with the dump tab meta and accidently underpricing very expensive items for 1div, so you have to think a little more instread of dumping, so a slight inconvience but the upsides is worth it
I wish they would just bite the bullet and implement a better trade system, why they would want to keep the current antiquated system is beyond me. I get that they're probably way behind schedule at this point but this is a problem that should have been addressed years ago.

5:05 its not just softcore traders sadly, its poe 2 traders, half of the people are braindead the other half is bots, like out of 10 trades only like 2 goes smoothly its insane, in poe 1 you would get 1 troglodyte in 20-25 trades but here its every 2nd trade. I had a guy whisper me for an item like 5 times times, each time I invited him he either didn't accept it or straight declined it only to whisper me again a few seconds/minute later I tried to chat him up but he didn't say anything, I put him on ignore after the 5th time
You waited until the 5th time? I block people after twice in a row.
@OmniscientlyMe I gave them the benefit of the doubt, thinking they are on console or have shitty connection or something
@@OmniscientlyMe That's what I was gonna ask lmao. Fuck waiting for people. I used to have patience and try to be a nice and friendly trader, actually type "tyty gl!:D" after each trade (not using a macro) now I just invite, if they don't accept MAYBE I invite a 2nd time and if they take a million years to get to my hideout I kick and block them. It used to not bother me and I would be super patient but eventually it's just annoying as hell. What really broke my patience was I had tons of people this last league in PoE 1 try to legitimately scam me out of currency for items. I'd be selling an item for 3.5 divs for example and they'd put in the window 3 divs and like 30c and then click accept and I'll check the chat log, no msg offering a different price that I missed, so I just type "??? It's 3.5divs, that's 3 div 70c" or w/e 0.5x the price of divs was at the time.
5 times is craaazy man Im done after the second time with them at this point, if you decline and invite me randomly after like 5 minutes just stfu man xD

PoE1 consoles already have this function, why isn't it on PoE2 by default?
also the market itself is unstable and people dont know the actual prices, so they will try to squeeze all the possible juice out of prices.
This is the vision krilson wants
What made the everlasting gaze worth divines? I checked trade, filtered by exalt, and they're only like, 30 ex.

I said the same thing about trade....so crazy right now. Everyone moonlights at a call center apparently.
That's the most American thing I've read here thus far.

That said I'd really love to see a proper auction house with buyout prices on items and see how the market reacts to that.
