Ghazzy is right. Gear will only get more expensive due to inflation. You are also right, MF makes more gear drop...it also makes more currency drop. More currency = inflation = higher cost of everything. So if you aren't on the MF train, you're fucked.
Ok but it's like that in PoE1 and I've never made a MF character and had no issues affording mageblood and similar gear. The thing that's separating MF characters from the rest is that the people who take time to invest into MF, also understand how the atlas works and properly invest into their maps. 80% of the loot is from rolling maps and towers properly, the other 20% is rarity on gear. Maps can go over 100%+ rarity easily, and rarity scales down the more you stack so going from 100% to 400% is a small increase compared to 0 to 100%. You only need that first 100-200% mostly through rolling maps properly and 1 or 2 pieces of gear. Going all out on rarity on every gear slot doesn't actually make a difference So don't blame rarity when the bulk of the gains is mapping properly. You're poor because you're not mapping efficiently. That has always been true for PoE. That said, mapping efficiently is complete cock and ball torture so I'd rather be poor Also yes inflation exists and some items will continue to inflate away. These are chase items. If you can't beat the inflation then you don't deserve to earn a chase item. There's a thousand builds you can play that don't use chase items, play 1 of them, don't play stat stacking monk and complain astramentis is too expensive when for the price of 1 astramentis you can make 10 builds capable of clearing all content in the game. But at the same time, deflation exists, if enough of an item enter the market to saturate demand then it doesn't matter how many extra exalts and divines are generated, that item will always crash in price to nothing. You saw this in affliction league where lots of t0 uniques that usually go for 10d+ ended up costing so little that people stopped picking them up, and that's the league where the most possible divines were generated ever. More divines being generates does not mean prices inflate upwards. Demand matters way more than supply. Affliction league was the easiest league to destroy the game on, people were doing 10d build guides to make somethign capable of 1 shotting ubers across several builds. Those same builds usually costed 50d+. So a top-end heavy league where people generate shit tons of unique items and rares means gear is significantly more affordable for the average player, even if more currency is being generated at the same time.
@@chrislastname1994 Incorrect, though not incorrect. The normal amount of currency may drop but that currency has a huge chance to be of a higher tier ie Ex and Div's vice Aug/Transmute's thereby increasing the amount of Ex/Div's in the market. That's what, in my backwards way of putting it, meant by "more currency drop" - more of the higher currency than the lower.
Yep, same. I was doing kinda half-ssf, where I was only selling not buying and trying to craft with the extra currency, but soooo many exalts were wasted on slamming I realised I could have geared up 3 characters with it
@@stefanvihura she picked helmet and only 4 common stats. do same with gloves/rings/neck , but with stats you actually need in order to do any damage. shit costs 70+ exalts. rings with elemental damage/chaos damage, chaos res/elemental res and magic find cost few divines.
@@Finis.Terrae no it does not unless you are picking sort by relative or divine only. I have 2 24% cast speed rings with 10% all ele res implicit+14 to 15% all ele res with 20%+ lightning damage AND over 100 mana for 20-40 exalts. The market is flooded with overpriced gear sure but there are just as many underpriced pieces if you know how to sort and look for more than 5 minutes.
There's a second level issue people are not considering. There are less currency sinks, you cannot drop divines into making gear and exalts oversustain easily. The only sink for divines is GG uniques, this leads to inflation which increases the perception of magic find being necessary for staying on the curve.
@@CoalCoalJames Ah wooshed so much that streamers like Ghazzy, DM, and Ziz has just been proven wrong by Slipperyjim, Midir, and others who just outed the ones fanning the flames of rarity hysteria which have been proven to be wrong.
@@PKcrash Because when excessive currency or items are produced, it results in currency values going down, not up. Moreover the current prices of the market are the result of most players rerunning campaign on new chars or in lower tier non investment maps who are creating a large demand, but not contributing to the market supply of goods. Rarity has recently been proven to not even remotely be the culprit because it actually has a negligible effect on loot.
It's worth noting that while magic find does make more rares drop, they aren't sold as often by those using it because the increase in currency drops. Magic find right now is causing the market to shift on items that can't randomly drop, and NOT increase the rare drops (that much) due to the rares not being worth the effort to sell.
Magic find is what it is, sometimes you gotta risk it to get the biscuits. I think the market’s gonna level out sooner rather than later, only so many folks are gonna pay those prices for so long.
Hi I don't remember if this was the video or not but you said once that you were thinking about making a video where you build up a character for endgame with gear that was like 1 ex per slot or something among those lines and I think that would be interesting to see the process.
last epoch already solved the MF problem for years, the stronger your character the higher the rarity in yourt maps, and you get more rarity as a reward from building a stronger/better character
@@slimob5928 by the corruption level of the world/map they are doing. you go too high and you get deleted. moving up in corruption is a notable jump each time. The player sets the corruption level they want with a bit of effort as long as they've already cleared that level of difficulty. Basically choosing your greater rift in Diablo 3 but on a much larger scale that sets your next 45min - 3 hours of gameplay in that world's timeline. But there are 10 of these timelines open at the same time so you can set each one separately as your are target farming certain things or pushing others. It's a solid system.
They had it solved in poe1 imo as well with affliction league, more wisps harder map more rewards, perfect. The formula should always be more difficulty more magic find make a stronger character do harder content get better rewards.
So... We're basically back to D2LoD, where 0% MF was damn near unplayable. I know they said they wanted to go more back to how D2 felt, but damn... They really committed to it with the unremovable runes and MF stacking. Edit: Also drones. Has anyone mentioned the drones? Alien drones!
Yo you are kinda missing the point with the magic find vs item prices. It's the disparity between the acts and blasting endgame with rarity that results in the one sided inflation for those trying to get gear. People are not necessarily lying, it's just a huge gap between what most people are experiencing and the top-top end.
Is anyone talking about the fact that playing in a party increases rarity sooooo much. When i play with a friend that has 30% rarity gear, and I have 160%, breaches on juiced maps drop more than double what I drop with the same juice set up without him, without both of us clearing a different direction to kill more mobs.
I’d be worried about the results for SSF player if they nerf it or make it not apply to currency. Maybe it can work differently for standard vs SSF. But rather than only focusing on the supply side of this equation I’d like them to focus on the demand side: right now it’s much better to not use any currency and save it all for trading. If they made crafting more deterministic then it would balance the crafting vs trading situation which is currently way more in favor of trading and leading to more currency going into the economy than leaving it by means of crafting.
the current problem for SSF is getting any half usable rare at all. I am swimming in divines and exalts with a 190% rarity SSF build, but I literally cant do anything with it. There isn't even a usable rare drop after a certain point where divining could make sense. The only thing I used divines on so far, were time lost jewels from the trials lol and I think 1 weapon, but my feeling for SSF right now with 190% rarity is, that it is WAY too much currency that has no use without real crafting and actual usuable rares are very very hard to come by. Like all my t4 and t5 rare drops are all sold and dismantled, not one even kept for an alternate build idea. I slam the most copium cases of rares and still drop way more exalts than I can use, so really, they need to tune that Tiered rare system to do what is supposed to do: identify as an actual potentially usable item.
@@dshearwf SSF is in such a weird state right now. Almost all of my items are from gambling or vendors. I think from all items I crafted 2 of them and 1 was drop. At this point I feel like it will be better for me to lvl up new character just to get new vendor items again than actually farming for them
a lot of people not realizing that the trade site is listing divine priced items as if they were 8 ex each. always set it to exalt only. the guy who sets exchange rates is on vacation

I personally feel base currency drop rates need to be buffed to around 100% extra rarity, and after that perhaps slightly nerf the gains from the stat. If you don't have any rarity it feels like you get no drops
That's because the game is balanced around SSF and the devs want you to play with mid gear, not the best gear. The game is balanced just fine as it is. If people want to play POE1 then they should play POE1.
@@Xerus35 I exclusively play ssf and that is the completely wrong approach. I am drowning in currency, piles of divines and exalts but I can't do anything with it, because getting any half usable rare is waaay too rng without any method of actual crafting like in poe1. I have put alot of trust in the tiered rare system (presumably some sort of smart loot and high rolling stats) and I can confidently say that I never even used or stashed any of the T4 and T5 drops I had, like not even for other builds potentially. There is also the problem of when you are getting something to drop at all, it is VERY hard to actually use, because obviously I cant balance resists on a whim without passive tree support or jewels (poe1 jewels had up to 30% resists per jewel lol).

I've been playing sorc since the launch of the game but just casual so can't get any high end gear and farm with rarity and I can't really afford good gear upgrades for my char cause I don't play that much and it's so expensive, now I hope they won't nerf archmage/spark whatever too much so I can still enjoy it
Rarity shouldn’t be affecting currency as much or at all even IMO. I played end league settlers as a Zenith/LS Inquisitor and had a -160% rarity ring that i was reflecting with kalandra. I still got raw divines and my scarab drops weren’t impacted at all. The game isn’t far enough in for us to have real farms yet but still, we need to be able to make money without magicfind.
Its crazy how magic find that was usually a way for SSF to farm a bit more in lower tiers became a stat that creates even bigger gap between SSF and trade league nowadays. If they nerf builds like spark then they will nerf all SSF players playing it way more than trade players. If they make content hard enough where you cant use magic find on items then SSF players will not be able to clear it at all. This whole situation is destructive as f
I see the rarity situation as a kink in the "we control the market" armor. POE1 builds on popular streams controlled the prices 100% and that stranglehold is gone. I personally love rarity stats and absolutely love that it actually works.
rarity and magic find is bad because its literally superior to combat stats 100% of the time. every build boils down to "how much of this can I replace with mf before I'm no longer making more currency than with a regular build?", which in turn means the endgame is mostly running whatever the ceiling for magic find builds is and everything beyond that is made obsolete. bossing is useless, high maps are useless, etc. magic find is a horrible idea that should have remained in diablo 2 forever, ggg removed it from poe 1 for good reason but apparently had a stroke and forgot about it this time around, hopefully soon it'll be gone again
Any boost related to loop drops should not be part of the gear, period! It should be part of some kind of boost or benefits related to maps progression that would make the end game more interesting if you ask me
To me it feels like the biggest issue is some builds being so extremely overtuned, it's very easy to stack MF and roll through the hardest content anyways. I'm hoping most builds get nerfed a bit so it actually gets harder to complete the hardest content, right now it feels too much like a cakewalk. I'm very confident GGG will fix this though, 100%
gear is not super cheap. I just finished the campaign with lightning archer. if I want any update to my bow not even some of those fancy two arrow ones it costs 30-60 exalt for bow.
what are you smoking? did you not watch the video? filter the search by exalts and you can put min/max value on how much you're willing to spend. it's gonna cost 1-15 exalts at most for the best staff/bow :/
But it's not just gear, the issue is MF impacts currency. So like Lilly said, low tier items are gonna be cheaper, sure there is rarity gear for 5ex, but it has like 1 resist. With two resists over 35 percent, it's insanely expensive. Then because more currency drops, chase uniques like HoWa are getting 150 percent more expensive by the day. Just look at the divine to exalt ratio changing daily, that's purely due to MF
I'm worried that after seeing that video GGG will realise that there is a problem with rarity, then get confused and just add drones to the game instead.
map rairity is more important it seems than chacacter rairity as one scales linearly and the other seems to dimish as you get more i got 2 divine orbs in one map just from having high map rairity and nothing else
it's fine. MF is fulfilling an important gap in the game -- it's so skeletonized atm that if they gut magic find, there simply wouldn't be a way for players to even get good gear without grinding for like 87 hours. players would just complain about nothing dropping in maps (just like they did literally 5 days ago)..
Yes MF makes ton of basic/trash gears so thats why they're cheap, but what about those high end gears? They are impossibly unaffordable or need to farm for days for us 0% rarity players because we dont make good currency like them, the gap is too ridiculous
Increased Rarity needs to either have a cap, or be more limited to certain slots on gear - but I would rather it just be removed from the game and drop chances increased to equal what you get with about 100% increased rarity.
I was also having heavy FOMO about rarity after watching Zizs video and everyone else. Then i watched Sushi just get showered in loot with a whopping 22% rarity he has by accident by just running quantity of items on tablets and maps. Yes rarity is strong, but i dont think its as bad as people make it out to be. Even Fubgooner said it felt like going into high rarity had super heavy DR.
I really hate these weirdos that start dramatizing about everything. Yesterday everybody was so scared of energy shield power and how bad is armour right now. Today ppl are complaining about rarity and saying atrocious things like: "A piece of gear with a resistance and a decent amount of life is 60d". Drop that drama character, please. Start thinking like human beings.
I honestly don't like magic find in any game even in Diablo 2. But in Diablo 2 it's a little more balanced because there are lots of valuable white and blue items that you won't see nearly as much of with MF on your character. And it doesn't affect rune drop rates either. I don't think the question should be "is it okay or is it fine." The question is, does it make the game better? I don't think it does, and it potentially and often makes it worse.
i mean agree gear that covers the difficulty of this game is dog cheap aka pieces with only 1 or 2 good rolls on random shit, but the second you minimally optimize/theorycraft a build you come accross 10+div a piece, and we are not talking of top end, yet
If it makes everyone feel better, this is basically every path of exile 1 league. Besides, why log in or play the game at all when GGG still has an ongoing issue of some PC's bricking? or accounts being hacked. Why log in and play when there is so many risks? Time to put on an RPG and wait for the game to be in a state that does not risk ruining your day, your wallet, and so on.
I cant lie i cant watch anyones videos but hers at the moment. She seems to be the literal only person not shitting themselves everytime her camera comes on. I may hate her attitude towards softcore but honestly once you get past that she is the only person making any real sense. I just watched a video talk about how the top streamers want rarity gone so that everyday people cant catch up to them. Its like cmon man the game is early access so there is no denying its broken which makes sense but lying about dumb shit makes me wonder how you enjoy anything in life ever.
6 divines orb in 1 map is giga lucky and will never happened again. Fub has been running with400 rarity on gear 100+++ on map and 100 more quant from 5 tower and he’d didnt even get the average of 1 raw div in a map.
Gear is super cheap atm because no one has a clue what things are actually worth. People are just looking at the market and assuming it's priced correctly and then base their perception off of that. Assuming nothing changes (which it will) prices would steadily go up over time as people realize they're just handing out items for free.
I would blame fubgun for this. Hes abusing it to the max, waited for GGG to go on holiday and busted this out. Hes overpricing every item his putting on trade, its actually disugsting these prices. Like a decent chest with 3 res rolls is 10 divines.. like wtf? An average player will never be able to feel strong in this game unless they get blessed by the RNG gods on drops
Isn't the rarity stat a good thing, especially when good gear doesn't cost way too much then? I mean people like me who actually really got into PoE is with PoE 2 the barriered entry is lower. Clearing content won't be an unsurpassable wall. So lot's of new players will be able to enjoy endgame too right?

Maps can go over 100%+ rarity easily, and rarity scales down the more you stack so going from 100% to 400% is a small increase compared to 0 to 100%. You only need that first 100-200% mostly through rolling maps properly and 1 or 2 pieces of gear. Going all out on rarity on every gear slot doesn't actually make a difference
So don't blame rarity when the bulk of the gains is mapping properly. You're poor because you're not mapping efficiently. That has always been true for PoE. That said, mapping efficiently is complete cock and ball torture so I'd rather be poor
Also yes inflation exists and some items will continue to inflate away.
Lilly is right here. The items that are good to very good will remain cheap. The outstanding items, however, will become more and more expensive.
@@MyNameIsSalo Who said I was poor? You come off as a condescending asshole. Congratulation on that, I guess.
Increased rarity means what drops will be higher tier not more abundant
@@chrislastname1994 Incorrect, though not incorrect. The normal amount of currency may drop but that currency has a huge chance to be of a higher tier ie Ex and Div's vice Aug/Transmute's thereby increasing the amount of Ex/Div's in the market. That's what, in my backwards way of putting it, meant by "more currency drop" - more of the higher currency than the lower.
i never trade, but looking at that gear for only 5exalts and me wasting tons of exalts crafting for nothing is heart breaking
It do be like that sometimes. Until you craft a 20 divine scepter and it was all worth it in the end 😂
@@Finis.Terraeyeah perfect gear costs good money. Not a new concept or a result of rarity.
There's a second level issue people are not considering.
There are less currency sinks, you cannot drop divines into making gear and exalts oversustain easily.
The only sink for divines is GG uniques, this leads to inflation which increases the perception of magic find being necessary for staying on the curve.
the video made me aware most streamers have no understanding of market dynamics.
What makes you say that?
You though you owned them~
But you only WOOOOOOSHED~ yourself.
11:50 because loot isn't in a good state, magic find is the only way to fix it. And we get lots of currency as a bonus
the drones man, THE DRONES!
No matter what class or build that you do; rarity is the primary stat for all of them.
and? who cares?
nah im doing just fine
It's worth noting that while magic find does make more rares drop, they aren't sold as often by those using it because the increase in currency drops. Magic find right now is causing the market to shift on items that can't randomly drop, and NOT increase the rare drops (that much) due to the rares not being worth the effort to sell.
7:07 hell yeah Lily that's what I said

Magic find is what it is, sometimes you gotta risk it to get the biscuits.
I think the market’s gonna level out sooner rather than later, only so many folks are gonna pay those prices for so long.
Rhyker has sooo much rarity drones started to pop outside his house
The best part of this react is the "Browse Game" Section under the video is for D4
Whats up with the drones situation lmao that caught me off guard 🤣
Hi I don't remember if this was the video or not but you said once that you were thinking about making a video where you build up a character for endgame with gear that was like 1 ex per slot or something among those lines and I think that would be interesting to see the process.
Most broken S+ stat = Increased rarity of drones found.
last epoch already solved the MF problem for years, the stronger your character the higher the rarity in yourt maps, and you get more rarity as a reward from building a stronger/better character
That sounds interesting but how do they determine character strength?
Poor lilly is so sheltered about the drones 😁
Nothing to see here~
Move along~
People are not necessarily lying, it's just a huge gap between what most people are experiencing and the top-top end.
there is always the solo self found option 😂
Is anyone talking about the fact that playing in a party increases rarity sooooo much. When i play with a friend that has 30% rarity gear, and I have 160%, breaches on juiced maps drop more than double what I drop with the same juice set up without him, without both of us clearing a different direction to kill more mobs.
Rarity also affects Gold drops too, no? It basically triple dips usefulness, and triple dips on rarity on Atlas and Waystones.
i love how the highlighted game in the info is D4 lmao
13:50 She is right, i´m playing Spark and i have paid 3 Div for my gear overall bought 4 items with it the rest i selffound or crafted, i´m sitting on over 100k flat dps with 13k ehp my only fancy item is the everlasting gaze. The gear i bought i only paid exs for.

More gear dropping does make it cheaper UNLESS more currency is also dropping, which it is, and now prices go up

When raxx said he would take it out of the game towards the beginning he was talking about on death effects that kill you 45 minutes after you kill the mob. Lol
That's a pretty valid point that magic find doesn't feel good because the game isn't in a very good state
Thank god there are guys farming 24/7 with maxed out MF so us mere mortals can get decent priced gear.

I personally love rarity stats and absolutely love that it actually works.
can you explain what you mean by that, popular builds are still expensive, rarity changes nothing about that
rarity and magic find is bad because its literally superior to combat stats 100% of the time. every build boils down to "how much of this can I replace with mf before I'm no longer making more currency than with a regular build?", which in turn means the endgame is mostly running whatever the ceiling for magic find builds is and everything beyond that is made obsolete. bossing is useless, high maps are useless, etc.
magic find is a horrible idea that should have remained in diablo 2 forever, ggg removed it from poe 1 for good reason but apparently had a stroke and forgot about it this time around, hopefully soon it'll be gone again
@@rurigokou7624 Not a single word in this is backed up by facts.

@ds lily - ya please 1 exalt per gear tier 15. But make it a melee build ^_^
Any boost related to loop drops should not be part of the gear, period! It should be part of some kind of boost or benefits related to maps progression that would make the end game more interesting if you ask me
Can someone explain how getting currency faster to reroll items instead of going to the overpriced market bad?
To me it feels like the biggest issue is some builds being so extremely overtuned, it's very easy to stack MF and roll through the hardest content anyways. I'm hoping most builds get nerfed a bit so it actually gets harder to complete the hardest content, right now it feels too much like a cakewalk. I'm very confident GGG will fix this though, 100%
these thumbnails killing me 💀
gear is not super cheap.
Just pause for a second, replace rarity with resistance and currency with survivability and replay the video.
It makes no sense that more gear dropping would make prices skyrocket. More gear means more supply and less demand so logically prices should plummet.
8 exalts isn't cheap when exalts don't drop.
GGG knows all PoE players yearn to return back to the DRIED LAKE to clear it as fast as possible with Vaal Spark and high rarity.
I'm worried that after seeing that video GGG will realise that there is a problem with rarity, then get confused and just add drones to the game instead.
out of context ghazy, he spoke about no divine sink not about rarity
Finally someone who understands mf makes gearing cheap. All these economy is fk, I can’t buy 2 resist items is delulu take as hell.
I started to filter by Exalts and it really saw how cheap good gear is....Felt like an idiot
map rairity is more important it seems than chacacter rairity as one scales linearly and the other seems to dimish as you get more i got 2 divine orbs in one map just from having high map rairity and nothing else
you know shit gets real when people make 10+ minute shitposts about it
ah yes, 6 divine with about 300 rarity, while I got close to 500 and had not seen 1 divine, its all about luck my dudes
you look really charming in the thumbnail lily, as usual. (please don't eat my soul)
Have you looked at prices? call of brotherhood went from 3 ex to one DIVINE FFF
Hey Lily, when are you going to do a piss jar/fart cloud build guide? Asking for a friend.
There's plenty of poison concoction builds out there 😊
Watched the original video it was great
Thx Queen!!
MF in POE DID not work fine, that is why it was removed right?
I wonder how many of those 5ex sellers would actually respond to any whisper :)
