  • I cannot emphasize enough the importance of getting to know our nervous system and how healing it plays a huge role in exploring our full potential. People often talk about changing limiting beliefs and improving their mindset through willpower; many completely overlook the importance of the body in this process. This is why the undesirable patterns often persist.
    How often do you find yourself making a decision to change something in your life, only to find yourself falling back into the same old patterns? In order to achieve long-term results, we need to involve the body because the body and the nervous system hold not only memories but also stress responses that, according to some theories, extend well beyond our existence. But... the body requires patience and time, and in today's era, this is the very quality that is lacking. We want everything - yesterday as we keep rushing through life.
    Consider your breath for a moment. Our breath matches our inner state. For example, shallow, fast breathing could be a sign of fear of rejection. And the fear of rejection could tie into people-pleasing tendencies and a lack of boundaries. When our boundaries are non-existent, we abandon ourselves, go into burnout, and maybe even resentment that accumulates over time. When we breathe deeply and slowly, we connect with the present moment and get in touch with our true emotions, while shallow breathing prevents that. Shallow breath keeps us on the go, in the loop, always in the future, never in the moment, as if running away from something. That something is a feeling.
    So, I invite you to take this break with me now, to pause, to breathe deeply, to calm your nervous system, to open your throat, and to begin to rewire your brain. Simply witness yourself, notice and be curious as you begin to explore your depths. My own healing journey was significantly impacted by sound healing as it served as a catalyst that allowed me to truly slow down, deepen my breath, and connect with my inner emotional world for the first time. Everything else came from this ability and courage to be present with my body.
    My hope for you is that you will feel safe enough in your environment and in your body to be fully present for your life. May we all embrace our potential for healing and create the space needed for our personal growth, aliveness and fulfillment.
