I also have an adjustable standing desk. I added a swivel stool so I can sit at various non-chair heights too. Great example of cable and power MGMT Alex.
Excellent !!! 🙌All kinds of Cool Stuff and Great Doggie 👌
Great vid as always, Alex! I need to give a serious consideration of getting a standing desk. Sitting n coding day in day out have got to put a toll on me.
You should!
Nice video, Alex! Thank you for sharing your thoughts about your setup!
Wow a developer that has time to build a new clean setup and watch movies while coding. Respect 🙌! Nice gadgets, the charger/stand/power-bank combo is my favorite part.
I like that desk that goes up and down. Years ago I was a draftsman and I had a desk that I could adjust up and down and I really loved it! I now just have a fixed desk and sometimes I'll sit there for hours and I can get a little sore even with a foam cushion! I'll keep this in mind for the future.
Hey Alex. Your new studio looks much better than your current one. I like the color of the desk and the accessories you used. The floating lamp is my favorite one😁
Wow! Incredible, simple setup. Power along the desk is really cool.
Things I particularly enjoyed
1. The desk itself
2. The lightbar
3. The chair
4. External storage
I will say though, I should stand more when I work.
Great video!
thanks
Thanks Alex! That's an other item on the wish list! I definitely want a desk with adjustable height.
Got the same setup being using it for two years now best purchase I have done in a while
I’m in the process of moving from dual monitors to a single one myself. My second one usually just had e-mail, messages, or Teams on it while I did all my work on the other one. Like you said, I can use my MBP and/or iPad as additional monitors when needed for the same things. As a Cybersecurity Architect, I am not coding like yourself since my focus is more on the hardware/network/cloud aspect of the field, but my desk needs are very similar to yours. Great content!
great upgrade !
Getting the legs and top separate is common from flexispot. I freaked out when I only got the top first 🤣
You're giving me ideas since my new couch means I need a new desk.
Awesome content and quality! As always!

In Brazil there are 2 types of developers: "roots", those are the truly warriors and there are the "nutella", like the cream, soft and they use standup desks and massage chairs, the keep playing Enya on repeat 24x7 and they only eat green and healthy stuff. Nice desk by the way!
Nice setup. I need some of that Velcro for the power strips and bricks
the velcro tape really saved my sanity
I ended up buying a Mojodesk because the engineering was excellent and it can hold a bunch of weight. Also had magnetic cable trays and doesn't wobble
Nice setup and nice desk
Nice also using a Magic Trackpad and I like it more
took me a day to figure out this video in the recommendation is not a desk setup video from the recommendation algo, and its actually a new video from your channel, lmao
i know, i know. i did try to spice it up a bit though
@@AZisk great video, I very much enjoyed it!
As a Minimal Nerd I approve this setup :)
😂
Great video, Alex!

@@AZisk a break from benchmark is always nice :D
It's really hard to manage my desk and keep it clean.. always wondered how other professionals do it! Thanks
like your setup
Thank you for your videos and keep up the good work! Can you please make a video how usable is Visual Studio for Mac?
Great great place to work. Happy for you :о)
Nice minimalist setup, but you need the TouchID keyboard! 😂
I really want to improve my working space at home but has a very limited space. I can't even buy a new larger monitor because I don't have enough space for it. 😌 Right now I'm trying to content myself by just watching videos like this.
Thank you Alex! You say it's cheap, we say it's expensive. Everything is expensive in Turkey. If there are somethings which you will throw away, post them to me! :)
Love your videos Alex! I'm thinking about upgrading my desk setup, this gave me nice pointers. Btw I Do you have a video of your desk setup (the other one xD)? I'd love to see a video of you explaining what gear you use for example cameras, teleprompters and ect ect. Keep up the great work and I definitely learned a lot from you!
i may do a main office tour.
I need to get a new setup done. I use to love the Bose QCII headset but I eventually had problems with audio off with the content I would be watching. I did everything I could plus help with their support but nothing worked. I use Astro A50s with windows and Airpods mac with all apple products. I would like to move away form the A50s though since their little adapter for the PS5 doesn't support 120hz so I lose that feature while gaming.
I don't think I'll like having two monitors where my macbook is the 2nd. Would rather have a wider screen and keeping the macbook closed but not 100% sure. I might wait until I retire early next year before doing to prevent possible damage by the moving company.
Sick. I have something similar. I prefer typing directly on the MacBook. I have a trackpad directly in front of me, mouse on the right, small screen of the MacBook under the main monitor (which I prefer) and then 27-incher 4k 144hz screen in front of me :-). I also just recently bought a height-adjustable table and a walking pad s1, just to get more moving while working and to lose weight. It's actually really good and way less intrusive in my work sessions than I originally thought. With noise-canceling headphones, I don't hear the motor of the pad anyways and my hand on the keyboard works as a kind of an anchor. I would recommend it to you if you ever decide to get some calories burning.
I also plan to expand this setup with another height-adjustable table that I want to place behind my "front" one, with a meter gap, and place my 4k 55 inch TV on it with PS5 :D Then after work I can game on it on PC/PS5 without moving my walking pad or chair xD
looks awesome, clean and simple, i like those kind of setups,
i notice there was an angular project in the background, do you primely working with angular ?
yep, good eye! working on a course with an angular demo
Hey Alex, thanks for the Video! Very informative :). Mind my asking where you got that white dual monitor arm? Was doing a google photo search, and it didn't find it.
9:20 not sure if you are being ironic or not🤣
Finding a sturdy desk is difficult these days and with your entire weight on the desk it looks very robust. We have the same kind of chair at work and they are really expensive, something like over $1k/chair. Great place for the Volterra to rip through compiling c++ source code projects under native ARM64 Visual Studio!
A lot of the motorized standing desks look like they have a similar frame design. I’ve worked standing for 7 years.
Great video. What brand of bookshelves are those? I like how they match your desk.
thanks. those are from west elm
I don’t use the same brands of desk and speakers but otherwise that looks exactly like my setup with the elevated MacBook stand and monitor position. I wondering if a wide screen would fit well there?
it’s a 60inch desk. hard to fit a wide monitor unless you elevate it with a riser
you should have gotten the 8tb option and just back up all your stuff in one go, now you have to keep track of where stuff is on all those drives. It won’t be minimal in terms of time spent, huh? Minimal takes too much effort. Your cluttered workspace will let you get more done.
there’s some truth to that ;)
You need a NAS
truth.
I'm going to shamelessly steal some ideas (like I do on github and stack overflow)
steal like a pro!
The only chair you need - HumanScale Freedom
Hurman Millar office chairs
What about the Mac Studio? Still using it in the main setup?
Hey, Alex! Thanks for showing your setup. It’s awesome! I was wondering… what do you think about wireless charging? I read a lot of things about the heat being harmful for the phone (maybe shortening the lifespan). Do you have any thoughts on that?
i use the official apple “puck” with my iphone, and it’s working well. i haven’t compared it side by side to a wired solution though so hard to say. but as for the third party things, that’s yet another variable that is unclear
@@AZisk thanks for the feedback!
maybe I missed it but I did not see the reference of your laptop turntable stand, can you share ?
i missed it :) here’s the link: amzn.to/3OyV6YM
Your link for the desk & chair are messed up.
thanks. fixed!
@Alex. Fix the Amazon desk link.
thank you 🙏
When someone start UA-caming, it give a realisation how dirty they are 😂😂😂😂😂
Hi Alex, do you use a “scaled” resolution (the one that may affect the performance) or the native one? Asking cause I’m considering this monitor
Thanks a lot
There is no practical performance drop if you connect one 4k monitor to the macbook. I’ve previously connected 3 without any noticeable performance drop.
@@AZisk Ok, this is very useful. Thanks!
Just another question if u don’t mind…
Is it very sharp (like the MacBook Pro) or a little blurry? I’ve heard different options about it
@@alessandropelliccia7814 it’s pretty sharp, but if you are within 2 feet, you’ll see a bit of pixelation, but i don’t even notice
@@AZisk Thanks for the info!

2:23 This is why I hate programming. Beautiful weather and you, man, have to sit in front of computer - like a prisoner.
But I love programming - yet.
Where is Schwarzenegger?
patiently waiting
Why does anyone need a standing desk? Just take a break and go get a drink or actually go outside. And why does the video camera cost as much as your monitor? Something is not right there. So what does minimal mean again? Is all this stuff really minimal?
It’s more sitting at a desk is apparently very bad for you.
