I am salvaging 300 Ascended Amulets to see if it's a good way to make gold. Overral, the cheapest ascended amulet cost 375 Eternal Ice Shards and 56,000 Karma. And the cheapest ascended salvage kit cost 2 Fractal Relics and 1 Gold.

Asc amulet salvaging is sort of the "best-kept secret" in the game. The Excellence is a 1 in 20 chance of dropping. However, it cannot drop from Vials of Salt. Ask Cellofrag how I know. It's 100% worth it, no qualification. When Cello made his video about it a few years ago, Excellence prices dropped to around 100g each and even then it was still worth it.

There are more reliable methods to turn the ice shards into gold. In fact, this seems, by far, the least reliable. Salvaged Excellence has about 1.3% chance to drop, based on the drop research on the wiki. Buying 300 amulets with the cheapest method still has to drop at least double of what he got in the video for me to even entertain the idea, and I could just as well end up with zero.

I mean 7g per Amulet sounds good as long as you don't regard how long it takes to farm a single Amulet. If you have the mats anyways, sure, go for it.

when you do daily ibs5 strikes you can get a big amount of eternal ice shards really quickly and i spend the excess on the bjora marches amulet which costs 375 and some karma
