A vehicle driving on the ice pushes a wake (wave) ahead of it which will break the ice when it reaches another vehicle. The wave will also bounce off the shore and return to the vehicle and sink it.
I ice fish lakes ponds where my walk from shore is around 100-150 yards or less. I love still water damn in Pa that place is typically very safe ice and I start my tipups about 25-50 yards from shore and can see everything from the car parked safely on the ground or boat ramp area.
I can tell you exactly how every one of those truck owners and the anglers on March 5th vote. Their sense of freedom causes emergency workers to risk their lives. They all should be required to wear dunce caps.
It looks like they were able to park there by the thickness of the ice but the thing is too many vehicles together that ice is going to break Lol there was definitely no common sense used in that 1
its been worse on the wisconsin side 2 weeks ago there was like 30 trucks all lined up like a parking lot i just ride by on my 4 wheeler waiting to see the show of idiots i swear people are getting dumber every year
somebody should invent pontoons for vehicles like inflatable raft. Then if the ice gives way, the car/truck would be floating. At worst you'd have to wait for the spring thaw and tow it to shore
Stupidity is the real pandemic.
And they park right next to each other...
exactly they all parked too close to each other
Oh...Must be a safe place to park, those other cars aren't falling through!
Looks like theyre going to need a larger parking lot...
Sorry but driving your car on a frozen lake is just tempting the gods.
It's technically the Mississippi river
What? That makes no sense
You talk like there is many gods when there is only one God But it takes common sense Should never park all together on the ice that many vehicles
Solid ice is very strong. Believing fishing is more important than safety is a symptom of a very weak mind.
Well, it’s the Mississippi river. Technically, it’s not really a lake so water is constantly moving.

what were they thinking when parking on the laking? "the ice is stronger than steel to hold the weight of the pickup truck"?
Every year.
Ho Ho HOLE! And as for the guy that says "it can happen to anyone..." he needs to say... anyone stupid enough to park on a lake

Some have to learn from mistakes. Some just never learn.
You just cannot fix stupid
Simple solution.. a "No Parking on the Ice" sign.
It doesn't take a genius to figure most of this stuff out.
@@gooser__43 - I don't think you get the point.
1st...one needs to think warning signs apply to them...... 2nd .... one needs to think it isn't a conspiracy to steal their fishing rights.

Park em all together fellas and near the shoreline! See what happens….c’mon Minnesotans! You should know better. And on Pepin no less.

And most insurance companies pay for it when your car falls thru even though it is not a road and ice isn’t always safe
*_LIFE_* is not "100% safe"
Literally nothing is 100% safe.
Such a dumb people we have become
Just you
@@guyarrol582 that statement would only bother dumb people ...🤔
...or move to a warmer clime, people.
I can't ever imagine walking OR driving on ice.
We do it all the time.
You just have to make sure it’s safe.
You just have to be smart about it, unlike these people in this story
@@Mark3-16 they didnt interview any of the park and dive people.
That wasn't ice.
That's just idiotic.
Who gives away their walleye.. lol
A fool...
People who poach over the legal possession limit.

It's freedom being taken away by the lying DNR officers. 'MURICA! They are going out and melting the ice on purpose comuneistz
