I'm not sure I get your point? There is no P2W mechanics in BFV nor are there any microtransactions at the moment (they will exist for cosmetics only). The game has a few bugs and is a bit unpolished, but other than that it's a great game that is nothing like Battlefront 2.
And also as far as I have seen there is free dlc,and no option to purchase credits other than getting them from just playing the game. Battlefield v has actually been a way better experience than games before it from EA

I think gamers forget about the power they hold... money. If you don't buy it they won't sell it. Stop pre-ordering before actual demos, stop buying special crap editions, stop buying b/c one person OPINION falls with the game. Have a little control, you don't NEED it day one or early access. As they say, we've won the battle today, next we'll win the war.
This is perhaps the most surprising news I've ever heard from EA, ever. The fact that they finally had the courage in which they got a grip and finally listed to what we where saying for all this time. It may not be the best changes I've seen, but they're getting there at least. That they finally managed to somewhat pull themselves out of their own garbage and stood up for once.
If they continued to do this and listen to what people are trying to tell them, not only will their be a better community and a better relationship with EA, but this will definitely be more profitable for EA in the long run as more people will begin to trust their brand and would more then likely buy their games.
I'm not saying that they fixed everything and that we should be praising them as they're still oh so very shit and the amount of shit they've done in the past is just beyond disgusting... but they earned a small amount of respect from me. But what I'm saying is that we all should be proud that we managed to raise our voices loud enough to make EA do something for once, especially on this type of scale( seriously removing harmful loot boxes and making it far less pay-to-win in order to earn just a little amount of respect and reputation that they lost so long ago is one big step to take). Thank you guys, and just remember that this is only just the beginning.

EA does not give the single F to the gamers.
The only reason they modified Battlefront II was because Disney was mad because this whole controversy was harming the Star Wars franchise, especially because of the government's recent push to intervene in the gaming industry regarding lootboxes, and it all started because EA push the envelope too far with Battlefront II. So far that attracted the attention of the mainstream media.
The last thing Disney wants is for the Star Wars name to be involved in "virtual casinos for kids" polemics, like that Hawaii guy said.
I agree that gamers have played a major role in all this, but the consumer backslash was not the real reason why EA changed Battlefront II.
They have changed because Disney threatened to take the franchise back, and losing the Star Wars franchise would have been a disaster for EA. If Disney had not pressured EA to do something, Battlefront II would still be the same, even with the giant consumer backslash.
Over the years I've learned that EA does not care for consumer opinion. The only opinion that EA cares about is that of shareholders. As long as their numbers are high, they do not care about gamers backslashd, being called evil, games industry cancer, etc.

The numbers wouldn't be high in the first place if the consumers were happy about the game in the first place. If EA had kept the microtransactions in BF2 then sales would have gone even lower then they had been. Remember when the storehouses of Toys r us and gamestop were filled with BF2 disks is because nobody bought it. Of course EA doesn't care about the gamers no shit name a company that actually does, all i am saying is that it was the backlash EA recieved that forced them to remove the lootboxes and disney getting mad over lootbox controversery. If the game is not selling because of the lootboxes than they have no option but to remove it EA even stated that it wasn't their intention and that they will do better next time. And the thing with Hawaii and other states banning microtransactions was too ban microtransactions in their states not sue Disney or EA they obviously can't touch EA and Disney they have an army of lawyers for stuff like this.

I mean, if nobody said anything, then perhaps the system would not have been very highly acknowledged. I mean think about it, how do you think this frustrated Disney so? Because of the massive uproar from the community as well as UA-cam personalities and other social media outlets. The reason it would tarnish the appearance of Star Wars as you say is because of everyone standing against it, so much so to the point where various governments started to take notice. I believe that if we didn't make it as big of a deal as it truely is/was and if we all as a whole didn't show how bad and greedy this system was and there wasn't much concern over it then Disney may not even have noticed or even cared.
Even if EA doesn't care about us (which they probably don't tbh) if what you say is true, it is Disney who forced the change upon EA. So either way, regardless if wether or not EA listened to us, Disney did, in a way. So regardless, together we have all made a difference, and thats what really matters.

What I'm saying is that EA does not care about community backslash. They are already used to it. We are talking about a company that has been voted the worst company in America more than once, and yet they continue to do the same things. They know that a person feeding their microtransactions system already compensates for another 100 people who complain. So, in the end, they do not care about reputation as long as the numbers are good.
If they cared, they would remove the lootboxes from the other games as well. If I remember correctly, UFC 3 also suffered harsh criticism for having a similar pay-to-win lootboxes system.
What's the difference then? It's because the UFC rights holders do not care about any of this, so they let EA do whatever they want as long as they get pay for it.
This is not the case with Disney, which needs to maintain the "family friend" image.
It does not take any Einstein to know that most people would hate Battlefront's pay-to-win system, and EA knows it. However, they did it anyway, because they know that even with complaints from all sides, they would still profit.
Do not get me wrong, I'm not saying gamers did not play a big part in all of this. We had. But EA did not change Battlefront II because the gamers got angry. Gamers have been angry with EA for the past whole decade. They changed because, this time, the gamers' angry caught the attention of the mainstream media, and as a result, the attention of Disney too.The changes in Battlefront II were caused by an indirect consequence. EA made the changes to mitigate the risks of losing the Star Wars license, not because they decided to take a 180-degree turnaround and start being a consumer-friendly company. Instead a "weeee EA heard our voices and fixed battlefront II" we have a "yeah, EA did not give a f for our voices, but fortunately Disney is concerned about maintaining their reputation, so they push EA to hear our voices".

EA already confirmed that they are not changing their business model and policies. They ruined one of the most beloved rpg series which is Mass effect. Ben honestly i think the game is shit, but i know fanboys will get butthurt so i tried to be a little kind by saying the game has improved however small, yet still show my distaste with it all. Also just because "the act man said it" doesnt mean its true. Its his opinion, and you can agree with it, but because he said it doesnt mean its absolute truth. Think for yourself sheep.

Michael Ramon Actually before Horse armor (paid cosmetics) and after. Before, paid DLC= expansions, cosmetics unlocked by completing the game or achievements. After = every big publisher started to do it so the bullshit was born.

I never thought I'd die of laughter so quickly.
Nonetheless, I always hate when a game with absolutely stunning visuals and gameplay has loot boxes (I can see how that seems ironic since my channel is Destiny music). Takes away from the experience. This is a step forward for EA, but I feel like it's going to go back. Just think that none of this would've been changed if people didn't complain about it. With stuff like Star Wars, EA (now) knows to be more careful because Disney would be on them in minutes. I'm worried about Anthem though. Combine that with the "Bungie-esque" news that's coming out about people leaving... IDK. We'll see.
This is a war to be won by the consumers. If we, as a whole, reject such games, then those who produce them will stop doing so. Sadly, many still blindly buy the game, and many still will. The Dark Side has blinded EA, but complacency has blinded us...

But in all seriousness, had EA allowed DICE to make the game like this ON ITS RELEASE DAY this game might have been considered something pretty fucking great. The core gameplay is still too spastic and arena-shooter like for my tastes, but the new progression system being something familiar to many gamers (especially those of us old enough to remember CoD4, MW2, Rainbow Six Vegas, etc) was a smart move. In fact, this new progression system seems like a scaled-down version of the class-leveling system in the Battlefield games. Hopefully, when they inevitably decide to make another sequel, they'll just use this from the very start and avoid pissing off 97% of the human race.

Now, almost two years after release, the game is what it was meant to be. It still has problems but it is fun to play.
