@@saulgster i doubt he's seriously faking anything, but he's definitely much louder than he used to be. i noticed this especially in his playthrough of red dead redemption 2. he really used to strike me as the kind of guy who knows when to crack a joke and when to take things a bit more seriously, but he's gone a little nuts and basically turns everything into a joke. but people change and that's just how humans work. it's not for everyone and that's totally okay
Gab is the only person I have seen to far that has made an Astrologer, massive KUDOS to her and thank you so much for trying something different!! This is going to be a cracking play through.
“You it seems are fated to die in obscurity “ Gab- *runs it circles* “That’s not true! You have this really sweet and goofy golden retriever energy. Not a game I play myself but like to watch others play, love your vids. Thanks for being awesome (:
I love Gab's playstyle because she's introspective, takes her time, explores as much as she can and doesn't rush into things. I haven't watched too many gamers but almost all of them seem to jump straight into the content and often miss important information which is fine usually but seems like a waste for lore-heavy games. Gab's playstyle feels perfect to watch games such as Elden Ring.
Started the game today, I went for the warrior class with dual scimitar. I've never done a dex build and dual blades at that, it's truly exciting. Since my starting intelligence and mind stats are both on the double digits, I think I'm going to meddle with some base spells on the side for some ranged options. It's so new to me, cause I usually go for the knight/strength build, it feels pretty fresh!!
I think I'm going to like this playthrough. Your playthroughs are always so nice to watch. I love that you take your time with everything. Great job. Looking forward to seeing more.
I've heard this game can take beyond 100 hours to thoroughly complete, and I'm in it for the ride. I feel like the 100+ hours of Gab playing Stardew Valley (not even an exaggeration, check the playlist) has prepared me for this.
@Let's Talk let people have their fun and leave them the fuck alone. it's always the people with inferiority complexes that have to be fucking mean to other people for enjoying what they do. if you don't think watching people play video games is in any way worth your time, why are you watching this video in the first place? you're either the textbook example of misery loves company or an awful troll
1:32:00 reminded me of "it is an action game, which is based on ancient Jspanese history..... so here's this giant enemy crab..." i'm having a blast watching this playthrough. Thank you for playing it!
OMG!! At 1:47:35, that battle was EPIC!! Seriously, I was literally sitting at the tip of my chair! You rock! :) Just learned about the game a few days ago and while downloading I stumbled upon this amazing walk through. The game play along with your great enthousiasm made me feel comfident enough about my purchase. 6 hours downloading to go...
I would honestly loveeeee to see yet another gameplay of elden ring with another build. No one else simply stops and explores the whole game like you do. This is my favorite series of yours, before Bloodborne and Fatal Frame and would love a new perspective from you on it.
This was awesome! I love watching your playthroughs because you're so dedicated to the details, so I feel like I get a really good sense of the game. So fun!
I 100% agree I’ve seen this play through like 4 times now but I jest for it yesterday for Christmas so I’m very excited I will be using this a my reference if I get stuck
I was waiting specifically for your playthrough of Elden Ring. I love your dedication to all the details, I love your commentary. You’re such an amazing streamer. Keep up the fab work Evelien! 🖤
I just found this series you've started today, so I'm a few days of playing behind. I'm really excited to see how the game progresses and how you end up liking a magic built character. I'm a newer viewer of this channel, but I really love the way you play and comment. It's very relaxing and fun to watch.
This is the playthru I've been waiting for! I love her style so much!!! I just finished downloading the game, and will be starting after work. So glad I watched this first or it never would've occurred to me to focus on magic. Thanks, Gab!
You're so good at this, I died a million times already and it took me hours and hours over couple of days to get to where you're at currently :) And its a pleasure to watch/listen to your stream. Very well setup, voices, music and effects levels nicely balanced. And you are so cute and fun :) Just watching you play teaches me a lot about dodging, fighting and mechanics in general.
My dude...I put 33 hours into this game over the past few days and thought I was finally safe to watch a Let's Play start without spoilers and then the second dungeon you found and that entire area was new to me! I spent the first twenty hours with a single smithstone (1), unable to upgrade anything, and then you just stumble upon the mine and don't even harvest everything. This game really is something else! Loved the first episode, looking forward to watching the rest.
Today was absolutely horrible and while I was suffering at work I saw you uploaded a two hour Elden Ring video!!! What a treat. I am so happy. I can tell that this is already my new comfort series
The luck on getting the Brass Shield on your first knight! Congratulations! I haven't finished watching yet so theirs a good chance you noticed already but it's a fantastic early game shield with 100% physical block. I use it on almost all my characters when I need it in a pinch.
I've only just come across your channel about a week ago and I absolutely love it. You're genuine and funny and I really like the experience you have with so many games!
Yes Yes !!! I was hoping you would play this on the channel XD Hope Jack plays it too, would be fun to watch both of you take on this game. Can't wait for the next episode :D
I literally love the length of your playthrough. It just shows how much you love the game. It just makes me crave to want to play it as well. Keep up doing s great job. It's been awhile since I watch your vids, but I am definitely getting back to watching them again.
Quick little map tip, when using the map in game, you can place different icons as markers on the map to mark places or people of interest. I'm not sure how many icons can be placed at once, but it seems like a really nice feature to pinpoint specific locations in this massive world.
I realize this is 2 years ago, but for new players watching, there are 2 big mistakes she makes that avoiding will make your life much easier: 1. Pay attention to your bars. If you are a caster, never be surprised by your FP running out, keep your stamina in mind when fighting up close and most of all, heal often. You get flasks back after clearing groups, so never walk around with missing health, and don’t be stingy with it in battle either. Half bar means you’re half dead already. 2. The only thing to be afraid of in lingrave are the bears, and I mean the big ones. Those will f you up well into the game, but for everything else, it pays to be bold and aggressive. The safest place against trolls is right under them, just keep watch to roll when they stomp and anything else will miss. They stagger easy with charge attacks and are trivial to kill when you know what to do. Dragons hit hard at this point and have a lot of health, but they have only 5 or 6 attack patterns that are really easy to avoid, so you’ll never get hit if you learn them. A lot of attacks from both mobs and bosses are best to dodge INTO them instead of away, which will be more reliable and create openings. Jump attacks are your best friend: fast and with big posture damage. In short: the less afraid you are, the easier it’ll get.
I love that you are like “what are those” in a terrified voice then “everything is scary” when your playing. Haha That is the exact dialogue in my head as I play!
Yay like many others I've been looking forward to your playthrough in particular. I always like how in general you don't just rush through a game and really like to explore and take it in, and even if this is a long series I'm totally here for the ride. :) Watching your Bloodborne playthrough made me decide to give it a try and served as a bit of a guide for me, so I'm excited to see if Elden Ring looks doable for me haha.
Yes! I am so looking forward to see Gab play this. Had a few notifications from streamers I follow pop up but wanted to watch Gab go through the game first. Let gooooooooo!!
I Love how the whole community is experiencing this together. Every other souls games I've watched you play hasn't been new to you (except demons souls) this is gonna be a hell of a good series 💗💗💗💗
You are the most rational human being I have ever seen on UA-cam. Without any knowledge of the game, you made only good decisions. You took the time to read everything put in front of you, and did what it told you to do. On top of that, you're willing to accept feedback from your viewers. Amazing!
This game had such a hype I had to give it a try. They said as a Souls newbie I should go with magic so it's really nice to see someone else who's not only super cute but playing the game instinctively better with an Astrologer. I was struggling during the first day I played Elden Ring. It was so complex. I feared that this is it but the next day it clicked together and I fell in love with this bizarre but wonderful world. So many possibilities and what a challenge! I love Gab's reactions to scary bosses 😃
Just finished part 2 but had to come back to say I had to sub during this part because this is EXACTLY the kind of playthrough I was looking for 😁 Not being able to get the game right now but getting to watch someone play like I normally do in a Souls/open world game 10/10.
gab you're making me cry 😭 I had the most miserable day today, so ready to give up and then I see that you uploaded an elden ring video!! you made my day and I can't wait to snuggle in bed and forget everything that went wrong today 💞 thank u so much
So happy to see you nailing the new controls. I guess doing the tutorial bits actually pays off. I've watched a couple of streams and people seem to be struggling when skipping the tutorials. Also, thanks for not going live with this and for editing the episodes. IMO it improved the experience a lot. OUR JOURNEY BEGINS!
I have been watching rhurikans lets play and enjoyed it so much i looked for more. You are GOOD!! Damn im super impressed with how quickly you figure out the enemies movesets. Awesome to watch. Also the magic start looks SWEET!! Definitely excited for my second playthrough :). Thank you so much for this top notch content. You are also very well spoken. Subscribed! :D
I'm so happy I stumbled on your playthrough. I really wanted to watch someone play, as the game makes me too nervous to play myself, and you're really calming and enjoyable to watch. Looking forward to the rest of this series.
I have squeeled twice in the past 24 hours, once when ER dropped and started playing, and the second time when I saw the Gab upload. Also found it cool and fun that she did the same I did with doing a caster build for the firs time :)
I am glad to see someone who is exploring step by step. Since I have not played that many Souls games but lots of RPG games I feel I want to study this game before I buy it and am glad there is so much content about the game out there I can do much research to know where I want to go and what I want to do or avoid in the beginning. I am glad that it is an open world (survival) game with RPG elements. That is what attracted me to this game in the first place. I don't think I would have bought it if it were a typical souls like game because, frankly, I am not into souls games. I don't mind all the parrying, dodging or even dying because I have done that in the games I do play. I am curious about the exploration, the story and am willing to look past that it is a souls game. Whether I will have the massive time to spend in this game is yet to be seen. Currently, I do not have the time so I watch the many videos while I wait to have my time freed up to concentrate on the game. I am not young anymore, not as patient as I used to be, but am willing to give it a try in the near future. I don't know if you can play just a few hours and then put the game to rest but I will try. I still don't have the many hours some people have to give up to this game yet since I am caring for my 95 yr. old mom but one day I will venture forth into Elden Ring's world and die bravely among my fellow adventurers. Thank you Gab for showing me the way.
Best play through I've seen, you did SO great, can't wait to keep watching the series! I really enjoy the way you explore, and take the time to read through things.
Great video Gab 😁 Some tips/advice from someone who is also doing a Sorcerer type build: 1. Balance the flasks more for magic, so instead of 3 HP and 1 FP have it 2/2. After finding a bunch of Golden Seeds myself I have my flasks at 3 hp / 5 fp. Especially as your FP is used for summoning your minions. (Keep an eye out for the glowy arch on the left of your screen.) 2. Get used to using magic more, can see you going for sword alot because you're used to it but as I'm sure you've noticed you're doing more damage with magic due to your stats. 3. This might be preference but I'd advise switching your staff to your left hand and a melee in your right hand, that way you can switch quicker between magic and weapon attacks, then you can switch between shield and staff, though I don't really bother with my shield. Personally finding Staff in left and short spear in right a great combo after adding a magic ashes of war (Gravitas) to my spear so it scales with my intelligence (32) for damage. 😆 4. Best to save the runes that you loot until you're ready to lose them as you don't lose them when dying until you use it and gain the actual runes. 🙃 P.S Thanks for teaching me that breaking glowing skulls give runes! Talk about life changer lol I've ignored so many thinking they're just useless hahaha.
My bf bought me this for christmas and I was not good at it, like at all. But in my defense, I had never heard anything about any of the souls games other than "they're hard". I didn't even know this game was a fromsoft game when I started it lol. To be honest, I got to Godrick and gave up because I just felt like it I was in way over my head and defeating enemies wasn't satisfying to me - it was more like ugh finally its over. After watching your playthrough once already, as well as the dlc and a few other youtubers and my bf play it, I think I'm going to give it another shot. Your mage build looks like a lot of fun, and I think I'd be better with the ranged combat rather than getting overwhelmed with close combat. Still expecting it to be hard, but I think I'll be better prepared now :D
UPDATE: I am doing much better than my first time, I killed Margit in one try and I legit started happy crying. Granted I had the wolves and the summon but WOOOOO I'm so proud of myself
I’m so happy to see this! I’m hoping I can stay ahead of you and keep watching your gameplay as it comes! I’ve played about 30 hours and it’s overwhelming how huge and dense it is, definitely a good idea to mostly stick to one map fragment section at a time. Just one tip that I wanted to mention even though I’m sure others have commented - put your spirit summons in your pouch with Torrent rather than in your quick items, makes things much, much easier 😊
Sooo glad you’re doing a series on this! Loved your bloodborne playthrough with Mars and Sean too. Just got finished watching Sean’s bloodborne series yesterday actually so hugely hyped for this!

I'M SO EXCITED FOR YOUR PLAYTHROUGH!!! I have been enjoying Astrologian ssoooo much! It's a bit tricky at first but it's so strong. I can't wait to see your reaction to this game! I hope you enjoy it as much as I do! Here's a tip on how to get an S in Intelligence scaling staff; I was stupidly lucky since I found a staff that scales S in Intelligence really early after I got stuck in a crystal tunnel for a bit and decided to try to run my happy ass back to the beginning of the game. I can't really remember where exactly, I know that I got teleported to that tunnel after I opened a chest in the beginning area, where the dragon is and got to a red-ish swamp place. The staff was in a tower where poison flowers were. Sorry I can't be more precise. :/
There is a "Teleport Trap" in the chest under the Dragon-Burnt Ruins... Sends you to a really high level area that I just ran away from, but it sounds like it.
I’ve never played any games in this style before, so it’s quite exciting to see you try it out! I’m trying to get a sense of whether or not I would like it. It was very fun to see someone explore freely and figure it out along with me as a novice viewer ☺️ It seems like a bleak and lonely world, albeit a beautiful one
I am a nurse and still working tons of mandatory overtime, at least I have your reaction gameplay to get me through the shifts. I cannot to play this game, but having you, is like getting to play it some. The patients do not even mind watching this video, especially since most cannot even get out of bed. But those ICU alarms are ruining the experience, so annoying. Thank you.
I love watching your content already and this is the 1st one I've ever seen from you. Well done. Making me want to play this game. Lol 8) keep it up please

I find a lot of lets players play like this, I love watching the ones who stop to smell the roses every once in a while.
@@visnau1126 she is amazing! another great slow playthrough is mapocolops if you are looking for more
@@qrexpand6775 thanks for the reccomendation! I will check him out, I am always looking for good youtubers.
Lol yeah like I loveeee CoryxKenshin. Byt the way he edits games like the recent Far Cry or this one gives me whiplash. I want an LP, not a quick reaction
Agreed. What's the point of open world if you just rush through the game.
Markiplier facing the Tree Sentinel: "He's not even ready for THIS!"
Gab Smolders facing the Tree Sentinel: "Okay.. I'm not ready for this yet"
I'll definitely be watching every episode of this play through, and hope that Sean does one too sometime in the future. :)
My squishy astrologer was almost ready :') I can get him down to about 1/3 health bar remaining lol
If only markplier wasn't so loud and exaggerated in his gameplays he'd be okay to watch. He Seems so fake and is over acting. It's annoying!
@@theawesomecatmom8315 I feel like they nerfed him now, i started a new game as a hero. I killed him on my second try without going anywhere else.

Gab is the only person I have seen to far that has made an Astrologer, massive KUDOS to her and thank you so much for trying something different!! This is going to be a cracking play through.
“You it seems are fated to die in obscurity “
Gab- *runs it circles* “That’s not true!
You have this really sweet and goofy golden retriever energy. Not a game I play myself but like to watch others play, love your vids. Thanks for being awesome (:
I am so happy you went mage. No one I’ve watched seems to be using magic like that. Loved the gameplay❤️
Magic makes the game SO much more easy which i hate that but it does looks really fun especially cuz there’s a lot of magic in this game
@@kozukitonio740 Exactly.
On normal about 90 hours. If you dilly dally sure you can push it above 150 or even... 3000 hours. It's purely subjective.
@Let's Talk well I look at her play when im eating or I am bored so I lot of times am extremely late when shes playing something new
@Let's Talk and you're here, why? wouldn't you be wasting your life by commenting on this video?
@Let's Talk i guess you've never heard of multitasking? Or the concept of having a video play in the background while you do something else?
@Let's Talk let people have their fun and leave them the fuck alone. it's always the people with inferiority complexes that have to be fucking mean to other people for enjoying what they do. if you don't think watching people play video games is in any way worth your time, why are you watching this video in the first place? you're either the textbook example of misery loves company or an awful troll
1:32:00 reminded me of
"it is an action game, which is based on ancient Jspanese history..... so here's this giant enemy crab..."
i'm having a blast watching this playthrough. Thank you for playing it!
OMG!! At 1:47:35, that battle was EPIC!! Seriously, I was literally sitting at the tip of my chair! You rock! :)
Just learned about the game a few days ago and while downloading I stumbled upon this amazing walk through.
The game play along with your great enthousiasm made me feel comfident enough about my purchase.
6 hours downloading to go...
Yeah, she said there was no boss in that fight, but she was the boss.
So fun!
Just here to let you know that I'm rewatching this >60-hour series because Gab's playthrough is the bestest best besterest.
Can’t wait for this series! Was looking forward to your first ep massively
Can’t wait to watch your play through but to avoid spoiler gonna play the game myself first. Bet this series is gonna be great!
This is the playthru I've been waiting for! I love her style so much!!! I just finished downloading the game, and will be starting after work. So glad I watched this first or it never would've occurred to me to focus on magic. Thanks, Gab!
I absolutely love this playthrough, it has exactly the pace i was looking for, and it feels more chille than the other ones that i saw, tysm ^^
Gab: "Those sound like the bosses."
Fia: "I gib hugs."
Also she *spoilers* and then you have to choose to *spoilers*.
well 2 of them are bosses, so a fair assumption
You're so good at this, I died a million times already and it took me hours and hours over couple of days to get to where you're at currently :) And its a pleasure to watch/listen to your stream. Very well setup, voices, music and effects levels nicely balanced. And you are so cute and fun :) Just watching you play teaches me a lot about dodging, fighting and mechanics in general.
The SAME thing happened to me with that dragon. It scared the hell out of me I screamed so loud 😂
This playthrough is amazing! You make the game feel so calm, yet exciting!
Supremely excited to finally see someone pick a mage playthrough. Time to binge the rest of these😁😁
Ah yes, two beautiful hours of pure joy! We love to see it.
Yay a magic build! The magic in this game is so beautiful and im really looking forward to your playthrough.
I absolutely love watching your play throughs!
Waited for your gameplay on this specifically, I'm so excited!! Can't wait to watch this series! ❤❤
I realize this is 2 years ago, but for new players watching, there are 2 big mistakes she makes that avoiding will make your life much easier:
Same!
Yesss! Your Bloodthorne series is my absolute fave and I've re-watched it so many times. I'm super excited to watch your ER playthrough!
Just finished part 2 but had to come back to say I had to sub during this part because this is EXACTLY the kind of playthrough I was looking for 😁 Not being able to get the game right now but getting to watch someone play like I normally do in a Souls/open world game 10/10.
gab you're making me cry 😭 I had the most miserable day today, so ready to give up and then I see that you uploaded an elden ring video!! you made my day and I can't wait to snuggle in bed and forget everything that went wrong today 💞 thank u so much
@planetj, I wish you peace and strength.
Aww I know those days, hope u rest well and have betters days ❤
sorry for that
Hope you feel better by now! Remember.. Take your time. Spreading much love and positivity your way! God Bless :)
YESSSS, I haven't watched any of it yet! You're the perfect let's player for this game!
I love dragons
I have been watching rhurikans lets play and enjoyed it so much i looked for more. You are GOOD!! Damn im super impressed with how quickly you figure out the enemies movesets. Awesome to watch. Also the magic start looks SWEET!! Definitely excited for my second playthrough :). Thank you so much for this top notch content. You are also very well spoken. Subscribed! :D
This video, this playthrough is a great distraction and source of joy in these fucked up times. Thank you.
Stay strong, Ukraine.
I'm so happy I stumbled on your playthrough. I really wanted to watch someone play, as the game makes me too nervous to play myself, and you're really calming and enjoyable to watch. Looking forward to the rest of this series.
I love how Gab and Jack have similar humor and stuff but Jack is just so much louder lmao
I LOVE that you are starting from the beginning and playing through! Thank you!
Oooh I went for bandit and nightfolk for my first playthrough, so excited to see your playthrough , 10/10 watching experience!
Lesgoooooo
Best play through I've seen, you did SO great, can't wait to keep watching the series! I really enjoy the way you explore, and take the time to read through things.
So excited to see you playthrough this game!!! Go Gab!!!
Great video Gab 😁
Some tips/advice from someone who is also doing a Sorcerer type build:
1. Balance the flasks more for magic, so instead of 3 HP and 1 FP have it 2/2. After finding a bunch of Golden Seeds myself I have my flasks at 3 hp / 5 fp. Especially as your FP is used for summoning your minions. (Keep an eye out for the glowy arch on the left of your screen.)
4. Best to save the runes that you loot until you're ready to lose them as you don't lose them when dying until you use it and gain the actual runes. 🙃
P.S Thanks for teaching me that breaking glowing skulls give runes!
I was hoping you'd post this. I love all your playthroughs & I'm so excited for this!!
Yes! Been waiting for Gab's playthrough. It will be an awesome journey indeed.

This shot straight to my top 5 Gab moments 🤣 Absolute pure terror and shock! Then the "no no no no" just has me howling 🤣
Sooo glad you’re doing a series on this! Loved your bloodborne playthrough with Mars and Sean too. Just got finished watching Sean’s bloodborne series yesterday actually so hugely hyped for this!
So, I’ve been playing Elden Ring as well. It’s MASSIVE. Actually, it’s quite challenging. Beautiful design everywhere one goes. So happy to see you’ll be doing the whole playthrough🎉🎉🎉🎉
Ahh, I'm so glad she's doing a full play through! I loved Gab's Dark Souls 1 playthrough and I went back and binged her Demons Souls as well! I hope she does all of the souls games eventually!
I'M SO EXCITED FOR YOUR PLAYTHROUGH!!! I have been enjoying Astrologian ssoooo much! It's a bit tricky at first but it's so strong. I can't wait to see your reaction to this game! I hope you enjoy it as much as I do! Here's a tip on how to get an S in Intelligence scaling staff;
I was stupidly lucky since I found a staff that scales S in Intelligence really early after I got stuck in a crystal tunnel for a bit and decided to try to run my happy ass back to the beginning of the game.
Really have looking forward to your play trough of this amazing game.
I started playing it yesterday and I LOVE IT!!!☺️
I've been looking at 10+ playthroughs of that game and yours is the best IMO. Love the commentary and gameplay.
Thank you.
That's awesome people in ICU are cool with watching this. A vast improvement over the boring daytime TV I remember.

Thx Gab! I was looking to see you play Elden Ring especially after you finished DS1. Donno why but seeing you play software games is really fun & relaxing (I watch your vids when I'm having my coffee & snacks).
Looking forward the next one 💪 😍
Found your channel today because I wanted to see someone playing something other than the Samurai and Wretch. I'm enjoying seeing someone who isn't a DS Master who actually kinda struggles a bit like I do. I'm playing the Priest and the Astrologer and both are really fun.
Beat quote of the episode... "I wonder if this game has Mimics?" As she's opening the chest 😁
I'm on my way to pick up my copy later today but idc about spoilers, watching Gab play through Souls games are a treat.
that's like me for sure. Great games are worthy of playing regardless if ya have seen gameplay or not. Looks like an awesome game. They clearly have a great way of making games that many people love. Good luck to you Mark

I love these games so much, but I can only play them for about two hours at a time before I get so tense it's no longer fun. 🤣 It's 100% me, working myself up.

I finished the playthrough and missed watching it so here I am back again for the second time!
I can’t wait to play this after work
Yay, finally happy to follow along with you. You were so freaking helpful when I was playing Demon Souls. Love that your playing on the Xbox Series X.
Try using charged heavy attacks and heavy jump attacks on slower and tankier enemies. It opens them up for a visceral.
oh my god, FINALLY! a mage! magic! nobody ever looks to supernatural forces and always resorts to physical force. i appreciate the mage path so very much.
