- There are some photography tips I learned as a beginner that I still use years later. Today, I'm sharing some of them with you.

So... In case it isn't obvious, I haven't quite set up a proper studio look in my new house yet 😅. Hence the constant change in lighting/colour balance (I was using natural light from a window!).
Also, our area has been overrun with flies this week, so although I'd spent about 20 minutes dispatching them before this video, some of the blighters survived and decided to invade my video 😠.
Other than that, I hope you enjoyed it! 😄
Sounds safer filming in a Tent.. insects very annoying
Oooooh! Those flies can be brutal!
Great insights and thanks for sharing
Similar tip to number 3, make sure you've got everything you want in the frame, it's very easy to get carried away with the focus, exposure etc and miss the fact that part of the subject/view is just on the border of the frame or even just outside. I used to do this all the time.
This video is going into my photography folder! It’s going to be a very useful video to go back to over and over to remind myself of these valuable points, like checking the edges!! Love the videos mate thanks for sharing. 👍
Thanks man
I really like your first tip. Great views don't always equal great photos. You must have a subject.
The edge thing is something I often failed at. I heard Mads Iversen talking about 'edge patrol' one day and it helped greatly. Bad edges can make what would have been a good photo a snapshot. Although, I do have to remember to do it 🙂
Completely agree with everything you said, that first one gets me often. Something our eyes think is nice, isn’t always a great photo. 📸😎
Good tips 👍📸
Thank you for the thought provoking tips. Very well put. 😊
Some of my favourite shots are my least "liked" pics. Love the vid. Stay true to yourself!
good advice! thanks Joshua
Good to see you again..
Thank for sharing ❤ 👍
I loved this kind of video.
It`s very helpful,
Excellent! Since I don't live in Patagonia I am not able to shoot epic photos 😉 Thank you for a good reminder about the basics. Pls continue with these kinds of videos, focus on the main objective, i e the photo.
Another great video with some top tips, cheers Pete.
Hi Joshua. I am returning to photography with a DSLR after selling my film cameras many moons ago and just using my phone for Instagram etcetera (I was linked to this video after seeing your review of the K&F tripod). It was good to be reminded of things I already knew but had become complacent about previously when doing photography. I am new to your channel and don't know if its your sense of humour to have an image on your monitor that could be a metaphor that depicts "cant see the wood for the trees" when talking about checking the edge of frame. Anyway, you come across well and your Welsh tones are an advantage for audio/voiceover. I will take a stroll around your channel and IG page over the coming days.Cheers.
Great & helpful tips here, new sub! 🙂
I hear people talking about memory cards getting corrupted all the time.. Is this something i should worry about when going on a 2 week trip to Norway?
It never happened to me so far and i started photography 2 years ago..
I mean, it would be awful to get home after a 2 week trip only to have all photos be gone.,
That camera standing lens down on the desk is giving me anxiety! Please lay it down. :)
@furbs9999 Me too! But then, I do live in the Shaky Isles...
Hi are you using a drone now?
Yep, a new addition to my collection 😄
Great video, my only addition would be to have gone deeper with examples of taking pictures of a good view and focusing in on a subject of interest, the narrowing down the view
Yeah, wish I could’ve gone more in depth, but didn’t have much time to put into this video sadly
@@TheJoshuaPeg totally understand, I have nothing but respect for those like you who provide such high quality work every week, the amount of work it must take wears me out to think about it
