I like that you have been showing optional ways of building cabinet boxes. I have either used the rabbet/dado or biscuit joint system but recently built my bathroom cabinets with Kreg pocket holes. All of theses are great and efficient ways to build boxes. I appreciate the way that you make the process so that it doesn’t seem like rocket science........and voila, you have cabinets. I will post a couple of pictures to your site to show the pre-finished product and the installed cabinets. Thanks for your dry humour and ease of instruction when it comes to cabinets/furniture.

Great job on the cabinets. A couple things I do with my cabinets: On the face frame, I rabbet the edges so they have more attachment area and adds more strength to the carcass. I also put a decorative piece of wood on the front and rear edges of the shelves, perpendicular to the shelf about 1 1/2 or 2" wide, also rabbeted instead of the banding. This strengthens the shelves and stops them from getting sway-backed from the weight placed on them, you know, that 400 pounds of books that nobody reads. I usually attach my kick plates to the cabinets before installing them, but I like your way better and I will do that in the future. Keep up the good work.

Jason, love watching you work and your sense of humor just adds to it. My only wish would be that you'd add a little more of the detailed measurements for specific things like the setback for the top shelf and brace you add later. I suck at computer work and do any planning with pencil and paper, maybe a short highlighted inset of these types of things might help others as well as myself.

Fantastic tip for installing the under drawer slides! I have a whole kitchen to redo with old style roller ball in center track slides and fought with leaning into the carcass and trying to level a block in back for the side mount slides I was installing in the kitchen desk. Decided on undermounts for the rest of the kitchen but was not looking forward to putting in the back supports for the slide supports. You’ve made it a no brainer.
