    This is the big one: iPhone 15 Pro Max vs Galaxy S23 Ultra. These two are at the top of their game in the areas that REALLY matter in a high-end phone: video, zoom photography, software features and ecosystem -- demanding big bucks for some of the most bleeding-edge mobile tech you can throw a credit card at in late 2023.
    But are these two smartphone titans doing enough to earn your cash? And which one is most worth buying, for a lot of us, it's increasingly difficult to justify spending a thousand-plus of our favorite currency on a new, slightly-better glowing rectangle? It's time to find out.

      Samsung device 5☆
      Android 0☆
      All we all know how to do math... 5x0 = 0. Samsung is a trash phone starting off with basic issues, for example useless unreliable rcs messages system
      Missing and late notifications
      Performance drops after just 6 month..
      I own both high end device Apple and samsung... but Samsung is bleeding from the very bottom.

If you've seen JerryRigEverything's durability test of the foldable phones such as the Flip... he basically pours a lot of dirt and sand directly onto the screen and hinge area - he makes sure that the dust gets into every nook and cranny. And, after shaking off all of that dirt and dust, the hinge still operates smoothly with no creaking, etc.

      In February the S24. comes out. Should I wait until then and then buy the S. 23 Ultra or should I buy it immediately? I think the price will not get down that much until then right? Maybe before Christmas there will be some better offers?

    I'm pretty confident to say that Samsung sets the standards nowadays especially they released the S23 Ultra very early this year (Announced Feb 1, 2023). The S24 Ultra will be announced sometime January next year. With that, 16 Pro Max and Pixel 9 Pro needs to learn from it like how the 15 Pro Max and Pixel 8 Pro learned from the S23 Ultra. They didn't beat the S23 Ultra overall but there are at least some one or two better features. Excellent job, Samsung. Good job too for Apple and Google.

So many things outdated and many things missing while android has them over 5 years already. However, it's a pretty powerful phone which made the decision factor for me because I bought it for shooting videos. However, 🤔 whether I'm going to get used to the phone to keep it for 5+ years as I planed is questionable 😂

But what happened was during my chat with a Verizon agent, he said I can get the s23 ultra for no cost. I was able to get $800 for my s22 ultra and he applied other discounts towards the s23 ultra and lowered my monthly bill as well. This is easily one of the best comparisons of the Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra and iPhone 15 Pro Max that I've seen on UA-cam. Personally I love Apple and have been apart of their ecosystem for over 10 years but I just recently made the switch to the Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra because the phone is just undoubtedly better than anything Apple has to offer right now. It has a better design in my opinion, a better display and higher resolution screen, way more customization, multi tasking, Samsung Dex, better cameras, 8K video, longer lasting 5,000 mAh battery, faster charging, reverse wireless charging etc. The possibilities are basically endless with this phone and I'm so glad I gave it a chance because now I might never go back. The Samsung Gaalxy S23 Ultra is currently the best phone money can buy and it will remain the best for a long long time.

    I think Apple has some software tweaking to do with the 5x camera. I have the 15 Pro Max and it’s hit and miss. In good lighting conditions it’s very good but when you try to digital zoom further than like 15-20x the images can sometimes come out with a lot of noise but sometimes they come out clean. Same with photos in the dark, sometimes they will look noisy and blurry but then other times it will perform some kind of magic and the photo will be way clearer and sharper than you expected. I was testing it the other day in the evening. There was still some sunlight but it was around sunset and I was just taking zoom photos of the plants out the front of my house. I took one photo and it was horrible and hazy and then I took another photo of the exact same thing at the same zoom and the photo came out amazing. I took a bunch of photos in a row and all of the following photos came out way better than the first one. The AI smoothing/noise reduction needs to be tweaked and I bet Apple will work on it coming updates. I have sent feedback to them through the Apple Beta programme with some examples so fingers crossed we will see improvement soon.
    That being said, I have taken some amazing photos with the zoom camera and especially zoom video. The stabilisation is amazing. So it’s not all bad with the zoom camera, it just needs a few kinks ironed out.

      @The.JZA. 8 місяців тому

      @@ani_ds12 Nah man it’s the software. As I said, I took two photos one after the other and one was fuzzy and the other was crisp. They’re using AI and they have the new A17 Pro with twice the AI performance so they probably have a new algorithm and it needs some tweaking. That’s my theory anyway.

    • @Qui-9
      @Qui-9 8 місяців тому

      I may be wrong on your situation, but if you don't hold the phone steady until the end of the shot, that might happen.
      The software on most cell cameras processes a stack of successive images to try aligning, synchronizing, or best-picking for sharpness, instead of just "accumulating light" and adding each pixel light value to the last one in each successive scan cycle and that's your shot, like more basic cameras do, regardless if the image/camera moves in that time.
      So basically, the phone picks what it thinks it's the sharpest image or group of images in the stack, and discards either the single image(s) or parts of them which diverge from the others too much from the rest.
      The result is that in a shot that is too shaky or held in place too briefly, more information is discarded and there are less good images to add together, exposing the noise instead of having enough info to average all parts of all images in the stack.
      Also, "if" your stabilization is near its edge and a slight further movement decides to make it recenter during a shot, it can have the same effect as moving the camera too soon. Not sure if any do that during a shot.
      This may or may not be what's happening in your case, photo gathering software in better phones has a lot of further processing tricks than the above, especially with AI now.

      @The.JZA. 8 місяців тому

      @@Qui-9 I appreciate your effort in writing this comment but I assure you that I am aware of the need to remain as still as possible when taking photos. Also the image wasn’t blurry from movement, it was noisy like someone turned film grain up to 100%.

    • @Qui-9
      @Qui-9 8 місяців тому

      @@The.JZA. that's what I was explaining. It discards frames from a stack which conflict with others in the goal for clarity. So the image remains clear but you lose the information which contributes to smoothing out the graininess and you end up with more grain. I noted some factors besides steady holding which could contribute to the issue too.

    The s23 ultra is far superior with the s pen gestures and utilization when my fingers get tired and for photos from a distance , Samsung health , Samsung flow , Dex , Samsung TV , superior thermal management, wireless projection , 10 x zoom , superior thermal management, emulator gaming way beyond the iPhone 15 pro expensive gaming , superior multi tasking with exclusive edge panel up to 3 apps at a time , superior in screen fingerprint scanner etc . My s23 ultra is the phone champion on 2023
    ONE UI also has more variety than Ios and has had USB C and Programmable side key w more functionality for multiple years prior
    The iphone 15 pro max can't multi task and has too many limitations for me but it does have great low light video
    The s23 ultra is the champ of 2023

    Right when I'm fully committed to change into a new ecosystem (Me and my fam are Samsung users since birth) then iPhone released the worst phone in their lineup (Overheating and being fragile) which is not a very good impression for me to jump right in.
    On top of that though, getting used to high frame rates and fast charging.. I've been waiting if switching into iPhone 15 Pro Max would consider as "upgrade" because what Apple call as 'upgrade' is what we android users had for decades. Which causes me to delay my next phone purchase where im currently using ROG 7. 😅

    Great content. I wouldn't trade my s23 ultra for any Iphone. Question. Is there a way to move those widgets off the Iphone home screen to give you more screen to look at your wallpaper 🤔 or why can't move a widget around on the Iphone home screen 🤔

    • @kleggas
      @kleggas 7 місяців тому +1

      If you remove any widget or icon on iphone the remaining ones will be shifted left to take its place. You can not, nor have you ever been able to, have space between icons/widgets. They all stack up one next to the other. In order to show wallpaper you need 0 icons and widgets on the screen :)

    • @jeromegold3216
      @jeromegold3216 7 місяців тому +1

      @kleggas so what are you saying Is that with Apple You can't design your home screen to make it the way you want it to look. That's too bad. My home screen I have a beautiful wallpaper with snow falling down the screen. Know that's making your home screen your own 😊

    • @kleggas
      @kleggas 7 місяців тому

      @@jeromegold3216 exactly. It has been like that since the first iPhone and Apple have 0 known plans to ever change it. You can re-arrange where the widget, icons or folders are placed in that "list of items" that span from left to right but you can not freely move them and create space between them. So changing wallpaper on an iPhone is of no use since you will always have widgets and icons blocking you from seeing it.

    When it comes to the zoom capabilities, I think it's more of a 'mixed bag' than a clear win for the Galaxy. When zooming in on 10x and more, the Galaxy with the dedicated 10x lens has obviously the advantage. But in the zoom range between 5-10x the iPhone will certainly perform better, as the Galaxy will than need to digitally zoom in on it's lower quality 3x lens. You didn't show any of this in the video and focust mostly on the 10x range.

    Definitely highly disagree with the camera reasons but overall the S23U is the better phone and the first android to temp me since I switched to iPhone years ago.
    iPhones have more neutral and consistent photos, that isn’t a bad thing for those who like to post process on their own and is a big reason I switched long ago and stayed on that path. Most don’t need zoom beyond 5x (or even that much) so many won’t see the lesser quality beyond that to be an issue. Certainly I do not, I skip digital zoom lol. I also own a DSLR though.
    That said, the quality of the 15PM with 25x zoom is impressive. My 13 Pro much above 5x gets reall bad. Anyway, if apple will implement multitasking split screen features I 100% will stay, if they do not then whenever I upgrade my 13P it could be to whatever Galaxy Ultra is new 🤷🏻‍♂️ I prefer iOS and the ease of use but I never stopped being an android fan and I own no other Apple products. Up to you, Apple. Also improve your display dimming… I LOVE my 13 Pro but PiP + other apps and max brightness hasn’t always treated me well

    in terms of video really, I like iphone the best, due to clarity and low light quality at times not to mention the log format. in terms of the maxed zoomed video, the iphone competes better when it comes to low light due to the better sensor that could be placed on a 5x zoom than a 10x zoom on the samsung. no wonder why samsung is considering putting 5x on the incoming 24U with a much larger resolution. And yea, I have an S23U,i hope they could improve that optical zoom video quality in low light really but is something i rarely encounter by annoyed when i encounter it on those rare cases. One more thing id like then to improve is the resolution and quality in the ultra wide camera, in lowlight video, the lack of clarity and quality is very noticeable when switching from 1x to 0.6x... but the 1x to 3x is just fine an manageable. but lowlight video on ultra wide and 10x zoom?,its quite shyte

I can live with some extra ISO noise in favor of detail resolve with iPhone, but I surely couldn't live with the often unbelievably soft images of S23Ultra. Often S23Ultra when it comes to grass or foliage is of so low rendering quality that it reminds me of a mediocre mainstream phone and most certainly not of flagship level. 200Mp is way too much for low light to be properly used, you simply can't beat physics.

    Amazing how Apple has people calling a horrible looking cutout the "Dynamic Island".
    They definitely know their marketing.

    It is not fair to compare samsung 10× and iphone 10× because samsung has separate 10× lens.
    And in one of your article you said iphone wins in camera comparison in most of the categories, but in this video you are saying they are close.

    It's just SO tiring to see Apple locking stuff behind new models. Like, why IN HELL is optimized battery with the 80% limit EXCLUSIVE to the iPhone 15 lineup? Why, Apple? Same with the hand gestures being locked to the Apple Watch 9, or the new Pro Res Video features, or the new photo depth data that runs on the literal same chipset the 14 Pro has.
    It's like they want you to feel the disappointment and leave.
