So I have a 2008 type S with 210000 miles still runs strong, but is old and gentle, will these mods mess up my engine? Should I put in a new one or just go for it yolo

Pointless to use a cold air intake if you are using stock exhaust manifolds and in the 3rd gen you have no choice but to use them. The exhaust ports are different than on the second gen heads. So basically you are pulling more air in but you are not expelling it efficiently. It's more more sound at that point.

S model has slightly better cams a lil more bump in compression. Plus a more stiffer suspension. I think the 1999 was the clear winner with it's 4 speed auto. Acura came out with the 5 speed auto in 2000. The 2003 was said to be the very worst of the second gens. The thirds were just horrible. The only real fix to that was the baya trans from the 07 accords. Although they say the oddessey will work but not the pilot.

My 2005 TL 6MT with Aspec kit was a great car. I traded an 02 RSX TypeS. My RSX was more exciting but the TL was awesome all around.

how necessary are coilovers really on this car tho? one of the things i’ve always loved most about my stock 04 TL is how smooth and soft the ride is. i’ve never felt like coilovers were really necessary

You know, and I think that I can speak for everyone, the 2008 Acura TL Type S is Perfection. I don't think that any of the mods are needed. Most of the mods this goober has done are dumb. Only a real Goober would change the stock wheels. That really makes this Type S look like a Base Model Wannabe.

2:10 You're not alone. I bought 2 new bolts because they wear out. The bolts are aluminum but the Fork is steel. So usually the Bolt goes out first. But ya, I had to do mine twice because something wasnt right, and I had to take my time to make sure the Coilover had all the correct washers in place and the boot was sitting properly. So it takes extra time sometimes. Cars always give a surprise when you are working on them. So you never know what can happen.

i’m stuck between a 2002 rsx type s and a 2007 type s

i have 2005 TL automatic and transmission still going..135k miles. but I have been flushing the fluid since 60k miles. My 3.2 burns ZERO oil.. and as far as leaking... at 135k miles, I think they say the rear main seal is seaping very slightly.. But it NEVER drips 1 drop of oil on the floor.

The biggest difference between any tl is manual vs automatic transmission. Not only a huge fun factor, any automatic transmission tl can not beat a 6sp manual, no matter type s or not.

Had the 03 TL-S with bolt ons...Loved it....Traded it in for an 07 TL-S...Loved it even more....Traded it in for a slow Tacoma...Supercharged the Tacoma...Still miss the 3rd gen TL-S....Maybe I will get one again 😁
