i'd like to think it's more of a son-father relationship as eli lost his daughter in that timeline as he only says ''that picture is alll i managed to carry out of black mesa'' or something like that rather than the originial ''that picture, and alyx, were all i managed to carry out of black mesa'', so it could work as cope for him

I watched the whole video, the voice sounded so friendly, it would have been really cool to have him in the game, this mod gives off a vibe of camaraderie between 2 great friends, although I really like Alyx, I think for me it would have been more amazing to have Shephard as our war brother, maybe because I really like Shephard from HL1, but it was really good and having him in the story in some way would be amazing too.
Breen says to Eli "Or will you give him the chance your wife and daughter never had?" , which sounds to me life Alyx died with her mother in this timeline.
The zestyness of Adrian honestly has some interesting implications, character-wise. Adrian's deal in Opposing Force that made him so interesting for the G-Man was that he was able to adapt and survive the harshest of environments. Maybe not just physical-, but also social. Him being in the City 17 Resistance (or maybe even as early as during Opposing Force when he went AWOL) might've given him the opportunity to finally let loose and be his true self... And honestly, I wouldn't mind shipping him with Gordon >_>
