I just purchased one recently. The silver version. Yes. I have the same problem with the third valve tuning slide. It leaks, rendering it unusable. So we're now almost two years since this video, and that problem still exists ! A design defect that has to be corrected before this instrument can be taken seriously.

Great review. I’ve been playing a standard P trumpet for the past year and I’m primarily satisfied with it. The only issues are some slightly sticking valves but I’ve gotten around that by drying the valves out before a gig. I’d really like to try the high-tech P trumpet and I am impressed how they are using hybrid plastic metal valves. The only difference I can hear is your brass trumpet sounds brighter and projects more. Thank you :-)

Thanks! I haven't tried the regular ptrumpet, but from the reviews about the valves, it seems that the metal lined valves of the Hytech are an improvement. They feel 'normal'. There is a indeed a difference in brightness, but it's not so bad unless you're playing some pasodoble tune (you know that Spanish bullfight tune), it may not be ideal for mariachi either.

Wow that's sound amazing. Never though a plastic trumpet can be so good.

I had massive problems with the stuck valves (pCornet).
After valves got stuck after sometime not lubricated as recommended I tried a lot of different kind of lubrication including trumpet valve oils, weapon oil, plant oils such as peanut, olive or canola.
Finally: Baby oil does the job (Penaten brand).
Clean the valves in warm water and detergent. Rinse it and apply the baby oil with a cloth.
The ptrumpet valves will never work as good as metal valves (the springs are way to weak, too) but I use the ptrumet for an always around and quick access practicing tool to improve my embouchure.
For that it is perfect as it is light, rigid and does not mind some beating but it is not an instrument you can rely on playing in a band or orchestra.

I have the same P trompet Hytech but the high notes are impossible to play. Around High C.

Is plastic trumpet easier to play than metal trumpet?
