I've been working on this for a while now. You give the best information about the swing on UA-cam. This is the most important move in golf. Everything else gets easier after this. Thankyou so much. Best most honest couch on UA-cam.

Hey Steve, great thumbnail lol!! I'm circling back tonight after watching this vid yesterday. I wanted to say thank you for diving a little deeper into the release. It almost feels like a personalized lesson and is absolutely genius in how you present it!! I was planning on passing on this weekends wet round in 45 degree weather but cant skip the opportunity to apply what you've presented here. I also want to say for anyone else reading, that your teaching lives up to the hype. You got me to 250 easy and with this lesson and now I believe there are more yards out there. Btw, I just turned 59 and you have me hitting some of the best shots of my 40 years playing golf. Lastly, and this applies to the seniors out there, my playing partners have been commenting on how hard I have been hitting the ball. In reality, I'm actually applying less effort and relishing the dividends!!!

    hi Steve
right on. thanks so much. i tried at the range today. works.

at 79 i almost gave up in hitting my 8 iron to 120m consistently but with your generous guidance, as commented earlier by another appreciative viewer, i have gained renewed confidence and consistency.
      thanks again

Thanks Steve! I like this thought! For years I tried to hold off the release and it seemed only to make my left miss worse. This kind of release makes sense to me. think it’s important to remember everyone’s swing DNA is a bit different. Lately I’ve been following Min Woo Lee’s swing. He creates a ton of speed but maintains the left arm very straight through a large part of the follow through. Just interesting to see how different guys do it!

I was playing with my Hackmotion comparing my swing to the PGA guys and figured out that they were getting a lot of speed with rotation (rolling the wrists near impact). I was pulling thru like Steve said. Once I started to roll my wrists more, I picked up 10mph of clubhead speed. Its very hard to see that that is where they generate speed by looking at slow mo video.

Try flapping the wrists over rolling them. But yes.

Hi Steve, Is there anything about chipping we can learn from this move? I was always told a chip is a tiny swing. I am having so many issues with chipping I was hoping there was a nugget to be learned here because I already use this swing and its amazing on so many levels, Thanks for all the great info over the years - Joe

Informative video. When do you initiate the arm roll during the downswing to ensure correct impact? Thanks

Great advice, the arms must decelerate into impact , in order to speed up the clubhead.
Most amatures try to speed up the arms !!!!

Marcus Bell calls it the jackknife, the thought of which helps, though I like to think of it as the butterfly knife if you are familiar, as it involves the wrist more. I've been watching for years and finally improving in a big way which feels so weird.

I get snap hooks with this... maybe releasing to early with Steves move?

The best way to do this is follow Moe Norman's teaching of feeling like both arms are stuck to your sides the entire swing, even the follow through. It forces your body to turn to make the swing work

Looks like a roll release vs a throw release. I thought you teach a throw release?

Started doing this. Finally had someone say it looks like I am swinging really easy, but the balls are somehow going really far haha
What a great video to stumble on. Am loving the drill and the feel of the release when playing.

@@Inmotion70 Been on 3 dif simulators. Seems to amaze everyone with the speed and distance. Have a 12 degree driver turned down to 11 and set to max draw. Can keep it out in front of myself ok just don't go anywhere. Can hit 5 iron 180ish??
