This video features a whispered ramble about my bummer of a Mother's Day, and my "do-over" treat to myself. We'll also talk about Gold Bond Neck & Chest Cream (it's wonderful!), pull-apart taco bread, and cat trees. It's a ramble for the ages! I hope you enjoy it. :)

I taught school for 25 years and I ALWAYS did a craft for the kids to take home for their moms for this very reason! Sorry your boys didn’t take you to lunch or give you a gift. You deserve it!

Not a single mom but my fiancé and son didn’t even acknowledge Mother’s Day. I had to tell my son it was Mother’s Day he said “oh I forgot” an hour later I said “usually on Mother’s Day you tell the people you love who are mothers…” and he goes “uh happy Mother’s Day”. That was the extent of my day lol. Had to run errands for my fiancé too all day. Ugh I feel you.
I’m so sorry. Happy late Mother’s Day! Being a mother is one of the hardest jobs yet it is so rewarding. Mothers are truly the best because of all they do for their children. 💙
Sounds like you’re allowing yourself to be disrespected and unappreciated. That’s on you for not teaching him differently or settling for a shitty fiancé. You deserve better for yourself. Do something about it.

As soon as you mentioned having a crappy Mother’s Day, being a single mom, I had to laugh. That’s my story every year. I’m a single mom of 2 boys, and they just don’t seem to think much of the holiday. 😅😒
I told my son I had an “ok” Mother’s Day, (I didn’t mention it was because my husband and I were just bickering all day) and he started tearing up and said “but Mother’s Day is the happiest day for you?” in confusion. He is right, it’s not necessarily about only others appreciating you, but you appreciating them. He loves me and acted as if it were a regular day, but deep down, he obviously felt thankful and just happy to be around me. I got right down next to him, hugged and kissed his little cheek and said “you’re right buddy, you’re the best thing in my life and you made my Mother’s Day amazing. Every day is special because of you” and his tears ceased. Such a beautiful moment for me.
I bet that other moms Mother’s Day gift was a day of silence lol

I've had Mother's Day when i was single and it is awful, especially now with social media you tend to see these "perfect" Mother's Day and it makes you feel so inadequate. I came to the conclusion that it's only a day, you will always be an amazing Mum. You had a rotten day by the sounds of it. I hope you are ok. You will eventually forget about it all. I believe Glenda is her most recent ex husband. They didn’t have kids together. I believe her second ex is the father of the kids. And I don’t believe he is maybe a very nice man.....from what she has alluded to on here before. I think her and Glenda still have a good relationship and are friends, which is wonderful. I feel weird discussing her personal life but that’s just what I’ve learned from listening to her - don’t mean to step on your toes Mary. Anyways :)

So, I had been moving around as I had started to watch this video tonight, but I was glancing back as you were talking about things. I kept thinking how great your hair really looked with the “new blue you” look, but especially because you had cut it again. I’ve always loved your shorter hair the most. It was way back shortly after finding your channel when I caught a video where suddenly your hair was noticeably shorter and it looked amazing! It was the first time I had seen one where your unique plots started to show up, and that cool personality of yours started to really come out! Since then you have made me laugh OUT LOUD many MANY of nights. Anyway, it wasn’t until I actually stoped walking around tonight that I got a better look at you... and realized that you HADN’T cut your hair after all! Lol... I think it is still fabulous though, and I just felt like sharing that memory with you. You’ve just about become an honorary family member, for as much as we watch and for as LONG as we’ve been watching! Anyway, I’m glad you got a reset on your Mother’s Day... and thank you for all your hard work. I truly enjoy every video you make! Long or short hair!!!

I've realised that my other half will never gift anyone the way he should. So I do all gifting. And I teach my son the value of appreciating people and showing it. So when it comes to Mothers Day, my philosophy is that I would not be a Mother without my child or his Dad. So I spend the day being a Mother and enjoy my child. If I cook, so what, I get to nourish my child. How many other women would give anything for that opportunity. I don't take being a Mother for granted. If my son pops off to play, I let him. I've done my job if he is confident and sociable. And it lightens my heart to hear him laugh. But he gave me his time. I got to sit with them both, watch a movie and nibble on the cupcakes I treated myself to, and it was perfect. No gifts, no cards. Just a happy healthy child, which is the best gift at the end of the day.
When i was with my children's father, he never ever use to acknowledge my birthday or mother's day, however i always made special occasions all about him.
I grew sick and tired of it, and left. Feeling unappreciated by the people you give your very all for is a different kind of hurt.
My boys are still relatively young, 8 & 7, but i have raised my boys to always ALWAYS appreciate the women in our lives. It can get hard, especially when their father is constantly always going against me, trying to raise considerate, appreciative, and loving little boys.
I hope I'm doing something right, but im being told by my kids OOSCH educators that they're the most amazing little boys that they've had the pleasure of having in their care, so that gives me a glimmer of hope that I'm raising them right. ❤

I love your chatty videos that I can turn off the screen and just listen while I fall asleep! It is so funny, I'm totally interested in your day, kids, neighbors, etc. Oh, and North Carolina generally because I used to live there.
I listen several days in a row because they put me to sleep but I want to hear what the cats are up to! I have kids, cats, friends, a life, but I love hearing about your days!
Oh, and I often plan my mothers days. I pick something out that I want, like a teapot or a book, and if I don't get anything from my family, I order/buy it and really enjoy getting a silly/pretty gift that is actually better than what I would have gotten. Your boys love you, the day can be so complicated. But pretty teapots and gorgeous hair and books are fun!

I'm sorry your mothers day went sour. Mine wasn't too fun either. My husband moved out of state for work and I've been working full time/OT while raising our daughter by myself the last 3 months. My daughter (6) was in a bad mood all mothers day and my husband barely acknowledged mothers day. I'm going to take a day off from work next week while my daughters at school and have some much needed alone time. I dont know how the single moms do it, you guys are rockstars. It's only been 3 months and its kicking my butt.

We don't do Hallmark holidays. Not mother's day, father's day, valentines day. We celebrate birthdays and our anniversary. But the way we look at it is you should be showing love and consideration for others all year. I don't need overpriced flowers.
Love your hair! I totally understand about the kids. We moved out of a subdivision into the country and I was so excited. I often got stuck watching the neighborhoods kids whose parents I’d barely knew! I’ve felt that frustration!

I hated mother’s day too!! My older son shattered his school laptop screen and my little one poured out all my new expensive shampoo. They really were Extra fussy and fought with each other more than usual. I was over it! I was so worn out by the end of the day.
