    Hi Amy
Nice seeing you. Thanks for sharing your knowledge on fabrics choices. Upholstery fabrics with rubber backing are always top on my list. 😂🤗

I’m new to your channel. I’ve been picking up furniture that has been thrown to the way side. I’m mustering up the courage to take on more than dining seat cushions😬 . I find your videos most informative and relatable! Video suggestions that would be helpful for me and possibly others would be working with down seat cushions and upholstering T-cushions. In one of your videos, you were applying welt over staples on an Eastlake chair. Can you share info on how you handle the upholstery of these? The internal tied springs, horsehair,.. to make this job more approachable? Do you replace this system? I don’t think I have seen these in your line up. Thank you and keep on! Gina

Been waiting, and here is another great informative video. Have you ever thought about doing an on line course, I would be happy to pay to study with you.
You make upholstery fun and easy to follow. Definitely my go to Upholstery teacher.
I'm looking forward to the next video.
All the best from Old London Town.

Hello Thank you for the great video. I'm try to sew some wool automotive upholstery fabric that is backed with rubber(?). The seams look fine for a while and that the octopus arrives! A Million loop for several inches and then the seam is fine again. Any tips or advice? I'm using my regular Janome New Home machine with Gutermann thread. Any thoughts would be very much appricated! Hey there! I love your channel! you are a fantastic teacher! I am in the process of attempting to upholster my first pair of fluted/channel back wing chairs, thanks to your video! I have a question about fabrics. I have a beautiful Kaufmann, 100% cotton, heavyweight ,basketweave fabric that i wanted to use around the exterior of the chairs. The fabric does not have a backing. I haven't applied it yet, and I'm concerned that it may fray while stretching/tacking it into place. I was wondering if there is a way/what you would use to give a fabric like this a little more strength to prevent this? maybe a fusible interface or stabilizer?
    Thank you so much!

@@ArtisanUpholsteryStudio Thank you so much for the quick response! I'm excited to move forward with them now :) out of curiosity...if I wanted to use this type of material for the interior seat/back of something, is there a way to do that?

Nice video on a topic that probably could be several episodes. What about woollen fabrics? Quite a number of them are offered (here in Britain). Also, what kind of considerations are there for using leather? It’s always a good day when one of your videos is released!

Hi Amy, Thank you for all of these awesome videos. I have learned so much from you already. I am in Canada as well and having a lot of trouble sourcing cotton batting - any chance you could point me to your supplier?

Is it better to get pre-Scotchguard or the equivalent fabric or Scotchguard yourself later? Can you put too much Scotchguard on upholstery fabric? If you are reupholstering, where are the best ways to save in choosing fabric? For instance should you get more durable cushion fabric? What parts can you scrimp on so you can splurge on other?

Hi Aimee, do you recommend any particular brands of upholstery fabric? Thanks! Love your videos.

    • @ArtisanUpholsteryStudio

There are no fabric brands, just different fabric distributors. The fabric all pretty much comes from the same textile mills.

What about double rub count. I'm reupholstering a chaise that has the furry surface rubbed off.

@@ArtisanUpholsteryStudio I see that velvet is very in style but I wonder if the furry surface will rub off. I wore jeans with the metal studs on the pockets. I soon found the fabric looked darker where I had been sitting. I realized the furry surface had rubbed off and that is the reason I'm in need on starting my first upholstery job. I love the chaise and I want to make it my first real project. Great videos. My favorite of all I've seen.

You need to get high quality fabric if you want it to last. Don’t buy it at bargain places.

@@ArtisanUpholsteryStudio It's a discount fabric store. I think they are remnants but I don't know why they are there. Once I got discount upholstery fabric and had a chair upholstered with it. It looked great but the sun broke down the fabric and it started to come apart. Maybe the stuff in the discount stores is defective in some way. Since this is my first big project and I may not be able to keep the furniture because of space, I'll use the discount fabric. For something serious, I'll do as you say and get the good stuff.

Do you think this fabric would work on counter stools and benches or will it feel like vinyl or be hard. I'm quarantined so can't go check it out first. I have 23 grand and great-grandchildren and they spill a LOT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
