  • Motorcycle aux lights can literally be the difference between life and death when it comes to being seen on the roads. Visibility works both ways, and ADV bike aux lighting can not only make you more visible to other cars on the road, but also make it so you can see farther and better if you end up having to ride a motorcycle at night, particularly if you're off road or on the trail somewhere. I'm stoked to be working with Cyclops and Darryl and Brian came all the way down to my house to install some super awesome ADV bike aux lighting on my Honda CRF300L Rally, Yamaha Tenere 700, and Honda CRF450L:
    Cyclops ADV Lights in this video:

    Cyclops Pegasus LED Light Kit (Tenere 700 Auxiliary Lights): www.cyclopsadventuresports.co...
    These Honda CRF300L auxiliary lights, Yamaha Tenere 700 auxiliary lights, and Honda CRF450L auxiliary lights are going to greatly enhance my motorcycle visibility (and therefore motorcycle safety) as well as making it so I can see infinitely better when riding at night. Huge shout out and thank you to Cyclops lights for making this motorcycle auxiliary lights install happen.

      I agree 👍. Most of these lights have a colour temperature of 6000 to 6500 Kelvin's 5000 should be the highest as above that blue colour is introduced and human eyes can't focus on it hence dazzle and glare.

    You’re definitely going to be seen better with the amber during the day. While at the BMW owners association 50th anniversary Rally in June there were a ton of bikes with the amber lights on them and you could see them in bright sunshine exceptionally well. Way better than the white lights. Saw a group of riders close a to half mile away on GS1250s. One guy out of the 6 bikes had the amber and they were blindingly bright.

    I want my Rally set up the same exact way. It’s something that I have been wanting to do since I bought my bike, a year and a half ago. The only thing that’s been holding me back is a lack of instructions on properly hooking them up, the same way yours is.

    So that guy is only half right. I woke in lightning. Spec and install on police/emergency vehicles. WHITE is the best if you want to be seen, it is brighter and can be seen from a longer distance. Amber is good for use for the operator to see in the fog/dust/rain.
    If you want to BE SEEN by others always go white. This is the reason your seeing more white on emergency and public works vehicles. Green is the 2nd best seen.

    • @brianfradenburg49

      In the sea of white lights, The yellow stands out. Also yellow is the easiest for the human eye to detect. That's why school busses, safety gear and other things are yellow.

    • @philallen301
      @philallen301 11 місяців тому +2

      @dorkintheroad both, doesn't make a difference. @brianfrandenburg actually WHITE is the easiest picked up by the human eye. If you can add flashing, that helps more. Then Green is the 2nd easiest to be picked up by the human eye.
      Make sure in the end you check state laws on what is legal. Here is Michigan, you can not have any type of red flasher, outside factory turn, unless you are an emergency vehicle. So flashing break, or that mode they showed here to 2 flashers on side of plate, would be illegal.

    • @ConcoursOne
      @ConcoursOne 11 місяців тому

      The cyclops yellow lense can be picked out of white light traffic .
      In Canada where DRL are law, the yellow lights I added (thanks Daryl)to my Tenere have made a huge difference in being seen. ( you can actually see other drivers wait where they otherwise wouldn’t.
      In a group of riders yellow lights at rear of group make it much easier for lead rider to tell where last bike in group is.
      This with light output at 50% in DRL mode.
      100%output in High Beam mode makes a significant improvement in rural (deer country) night vision

    So, if the CRF 450 is your serious trail bike (OR BDR, etc.) and your Tenere 700 is your touring/trail bike, what role does the CRF 300L Rally play for you now?

    • @DorkintheRoad
      @DorkintheRoad  11 місяців тому +1

      Listen, I had a Pan America with the cornering side lights that were supposed to light up the sides of the road when you leaned into a turn. Problem was that that I’d be riding through the SF/Oakland area and every move I’d make the side lights would come on and then go off. Not much of a lean was needed just going around regular turns in traffic. I had quite a few vehicles think I was messing with them and they’d get pissed of and crowd me or slam on the brakes in front of me. You all can get your panties in a bunch because I’m telling you flashing lights on a bike are obnoxious but the first time someone has had too much to drink behind the wheel of the cage they aren’t gonna mind giving you a love tap or crowd you off the road.
      What is the issue with tapping your brake lever yourself to wake people up? Just a couple slow tap, “hey, I’m slowing down or stoping.” Position yourselves to the side of the lane like you are going to lane split at a stop.
      The flashing light is like loud pipes.
