Just came across this video and it was a thoroughly enjoyable watch with an Erdinger, after a very busy week of uni. I walked the Way in 2022 as a naive young man with no experience thru hiking or wild camping and had a pretty special experience. I started alone, but on night two met several people from across Europe who all had a lot more experience than me - fortunately they let me tag along, and I am ever grateful to them.
The WHW will always hold a special place in my heart, and I am sure I'll walk it again one day. It's fantastic to be able to relive memories through this video, so thank you Mike for making it!

Followed you every step of the way. We walked the WHW in 1996 but it looks like there are many more amenities now. We used B&Bs - a real bed and a shower then a cooked breakfast!!!
Beinnglas was not nearly so sophisticated, it was a field for camping and B&B in the farmhouse. Eating meant a walk down to the Drovers Inn.
Inveroran Hotel refused to serve walkers at that time. We hooked up with the 'luggage movers' from Rowardennan What a blessing!
We stayed with a lovely couple who told us the history of Kinlochleven and the smelter. Well done Mike

Firstly congratulations on completing the walk 👏 We thoroughly enjoyed this video Mike, so much so we watched it twice 🤭 We feel we experienced the walk without getting the sore feet 🙈😂 The chippy side of the good food cafe is absolutely delicious, highly recommend the spicy fish bites next time your up that way. The BTW campsite was closed for the season when we were in the area, but the warden chap had a good chat with us & recommended a few wild/free spots in the area, top bloke! How lovely that you & the mexican gents completed it together, lovely to watch 😎 The pods are expensive, but looks like they were needed & at least you had a wee broon tent & a wee broon pod 🫣😂 Thanks, Em 💜

But yes if you can, save for a holiday. You can spend up to 14 days on the trail. Most do it in a week or less. Our first was 7 days, the next was 10 and last year we did 8. Both our kids hiking it with us next year and we will do 10 days again

Wow, what a walk. Congratulations to you. The scenery along the way was fantastic. Hope you had a chance to soak your poor feet. Good to see you three again. Take care and looking forward to your next adventure.

Congratulations! That does look like a rugged walk and my poor ankles were suffering sympathetic pains watching you traverse the rockiest bits. The scene in Fort William was at least familiar since that is where the Great Glen Way (much easier going than the West Highland!) begins. I walked it a few years back from Fort William to Fort George. As for the Cullen Skink, have you ever had it IN Cullen? If you go up that way,, it seems that every eatery serves it but the consensus seems to be that it is best at the Seafield Arms but dessert is best at the ice cream shop just a bit down the hill. Cheers and happy travels.

Thanks John, I may take on the great Glen way or another walk next year. That Cullen Skink was really good. Not had it in Cullen, maybe it's like having a Guinness in Ireland....they say it always tastes better.
