Batch loaf is one of the things I miss most from home. My local shop in Ireland used to stock them from a nearby bakery. They came in a big clear plastic bag in batches of 9. If you wanted one, you'd have to tear one off, I used to love doing that! Thank you for this video, I'll be trying to make my own.
baker mike i miss the brenans bread from my home town in Ireland and am making your batch bread as i type what would i do or change to make a family pan instead of the batch bread?
mike i had one other question some say to put a pan in the oven and before you put the bread in add water to the hot pan for moisture what is your opinion on that step mostly for the irish loafs i am trying to make yea or nay ?
Brilliant stuff, we still get it here in Dundee Scotland, enjoyed the other video too on the rolls, do you ever make Aberdeen rolls? Or Butter Rolls some call them? All the best. ✌️👍
@@masterbakermike3725 I knocked up a batch on Monday. It turned out really well. Tearing the steaming hot loaves apart was such a reward. Great recipe, great directions. Sincerely, thank you
Hi Mike, thanks for sharing your terrific baking knowledge. Your scone and bread recipes have worked out perfectly. Can you do a video on cream buns and fruit loaf sometime. Thanks again.
Hi my hot cross bun video is the only recipe you need just don’t put fruit in it for cream buns some bakers put yellow food coloring in the dough for cream buns 👍
Brilliant video, thanks for posting it. I'm going to buy a tin that size and try to make these, can't get batch bread here in Los Angeles. Can I ask what type of lard you used? We only seem to get pork lard here in the Mexican shops.
Looks delicious! Greetings from Evergreen, Montana, USA.

Great recipe, please show how you’d make a standard cake in the bakery or a Tottenham cake
Great thanks 👍
Yep, still Irelands favourite bread

@@elizabethmcbriar6074 no I don’t I used 50-50 plain flour and rice flour for many years 👍
Hi mike from port management NSW Australian, what’s in the bread improver ?
Hi you don’t have to use it but it makes your bread lovely and soft a white crumb if you look it up on google you will find out about it 👍
What is 'bread improver?" I've never heard of it. What does it do?
Do you a recipe for fruit bread thanks
Yes just use the fruit buns recipe video it’s all the same recipe you can change what fruit you want to use 👍
What is the bread improver? What’s in it? I’ve never seen it before.
You don’t have to use it but it makes you bread a lot better in color and whiter texture look it up on google will explain it better 👍
@0:17 good auld Doherty's plain loaf.
Yes it’s the best 👍
Hi Mike, how come some recipes you activate the yeast and others you just use instant. What do you prefer
Hi instant mate 👍

Mike What brand of bread improver do you use?
Hi I’m using Lotus brand got online Amazon 👍
What is bread improver?
Best advice look it up online it gives you a whiter crumb and helps develop the dough etc I don’t bake without in.
Dinkum bloody Irish batch bread!
Yep 👍
One of those quartered with a little knob of rancid butter on top of each piece and you have an army tea for four men
Sounds good to me 👍🍺
Do you think you could do some hot cross buns?
Yeast makes the bread smaller, and less easier to share with others. Unleavened bread is God's type of bread. ✝️
Ain’t that the truth
You need to taste it though full of love❤
@@masterbakermike3725 hey still loved the video, very much looks good 😋
Jesus made the loaves and fishes. A loaf is a bread with Yeast.
Only Moses had unleavened bread.
Maybe you wanna change your pic to Moses?
