Very commendable of the young Earthlings of Troop #12026. Thank you for being Earth conscious and contributing to the preservation of our Home. 💝 I've forwarded this to my mom who buys a couple dozen boxes a year or seems to give away and whatnot. Nothing wrong with contributing, just leave the cookies there.
There are three alternatives to palm oil. Coconut oil, lard, and beef tallow. They are too squeemish to use lard or tallow and they are too greedy to use coconut oil.
"Child labor has no place in Girl Scout cookie production. We're going to keep using it though, because... what are you gonna do about it, huh? We're already using unpaid child labor to sell them. What are you gonna do about it? Huh? Huh!? Thought so. Shut up and eat your cookies."
Thank you Girl Scouts. I'm going to slim down now. I'll not buy any more Girl Scout cookies. You don't have to stand in the pouring rain and get sick selling them and getting nothing, anyway, we all win!!!
"we all win" aside from the fact that the girls need another way to find their troops. They have badges, sashes, snacks, outings etc to pay for. I agree girl scouts needs to do better but "selling" cookies isn't the problem.
Sticking to something because it is right, even if it hurts you a little. That is commendable. Companies don't change practices if consumers don't put their foot. If the wheel don't squeek, it doesn’t get oiled.
I question where all the money from the cookie sales go? If adults are making huge salaries from the cookies, the children selling those cookies is an example of illegal child labor. I have great memories of being a Girl Scout, which makes me feel bad if the children are being exploited for adults to profit financially.
That's like asking a McDonald's to source all of it's own indredients for their own menu. I mean, you do realize that the Girl Scouts are a for profit business, right? Is this something people don't know?
I’m 67 yrs young and I have been buying GS cookies for many years. This year my friend and I spent $50. worth from a family friend’s daughter and they were the worst! Never again! Who would mess up something like GS cookies ⁉️ Who⁉️🤮
There are two bakers. The troop does not have input. The council can find a new baker but the prices may go up.

I stopped buying them. Coconut oil is a great alternative. And they can find someone else to make the cookies. They need to do something about this.

Lard comes from pigs, which means a chunk of people couldn't eat them or buy them and sales would go down.

I'm so proud of you, girl scouts, for standing up for your beliefs. As a girl scout mom, I know how much you are sacrificing.

From what I've seen, it wasn't the Girl Scouts who were selling them It was their parents, who guilted co-workers into buying cookies.

Instead of stopping selling cookies? Why don’t they just cook them from scratch? Lol! A strange new concept. Lolo

Good job scouts!
GS have many values that I do not support. I haven't bought their cookies in quiet awhile. I was a GS for 10 yrs. Very disappointed in GS values 😕

Copra is coconut meat the source if palm oil
Girl Scout cookies have terrible ingredients and taste horrible. Would never buy them.
Solution why don’t they make their own cookies.
Because we are VOLUNTEERS and dont get PAID to bake thousands of COOKIES

So many children are going to lose the jobs they love in the palm oil plantations
😂
