  • Patti Garibay was an active leader and volunteer in the Girls Scouts USA for 12 years until 1993 when Girls Scouts USA moved away from their godly roots and beliefs. This change created a crisis for many Christian families, and after attempts to change the organization from within, Patti felt called by God to the alternative faith-based organization American Heritage Girls in 1995. Patti has a passion to help girls and their families navigate significant cultural issues impacting young women today. In this interview she’ll share stories about lives transformed by American Heritage Girls.

We have several dads who bring their daughters to participate in AHG and the dads themselves get involved! I’m sure your local troop would love to meet you and your daughter. She can start attending when she’s 5. :)

I’m an AHG leader and I LOVE this program. The Titus 2 approach is phenomenal and I have loved meeting girls who love the Lord and are teaching my girls to love the Lord!

Thank you for doing this spotlight! My daughter is five and I've been anxious for her in this world we live in. I can't wait to get her into a chapter near us!

I have high expectations for my Tenderheart this year.
(I think because I’m focused on the exterior (messy hair, unmatched shoes girls and then the older girls that spoke on their behalf looked rebellious with their appearance (5 black earrings…). I know it sounds superficial, but they don’t look special and put together.)
I can’t vouch for their skills or heart status.
      I shall see.

We've got a pathfinder and Tenderheart this year! My 6 year old loves American Heritage Girls. It's been one of her favorite things to do.

Awesome! I have a sense I’m going to be a girl dad one day, so great to know of a program like this.

Oof not y’all being upset about Girl Scouts recognizing religious freedom and diversity in this country. Wonder if y’all are also upset that the Founding Fathers included religious freedom in the Constitution
