  • Straight-to-the-point tutorial on how to generate realistic concrete textures in Blender 3D . This procedural material allows you to modify every aspect of the concrete texture as well as the damage (including cracks). This short tutorial shows you how to add a realistic concrete material to 3D models. This is done using shader nodes and can be applied to any 3D model to give it a realistic feel. In this video, I show every step of the material creation process, with information helpful for both beginners and advanced 3D modelers. It demonstrates the use of many of the shader nodes.

This looks really great, despite a small problem where you can tell it's CGI. The fractures would never cross in reality. If you look at a cracked pane of glass, you can always see which crack came before another, because the last one logically stops when it hits an existing one. However, I can't think of a quick solution to this and for the superficial observer it is probably a rather marginal problem, if it is noticed at all.
Nevertheless, it is a very good approach and can be implemented with just a few nodes. Thumbs up for that.

Thanks for the feedback, I get your point. :)
Though, I would caution against expecting cracks to form the same way on different materials. You are correct about cracking of glass, and I wouldn't be using this setup for glass either.

I love you content. Please never stop. It has wonderful presentation rarely seen in things about blender. I have some years of blender under my belt and someof your videos (like this one) are really entertaining even if i already know how to do it

I love your videos! I just wonder how could I change the length of the hair in your stylized hair with geometry nodes video :(

The "trim curve" node can help with that.
