- On today's episode of Jersey Digs, Chris gets out to their Farm permission to see what goodies can be had and discovers some interesting items from the early 1800s and 1900s. Some of the more interesting pieces are explained at the wrap up. Enjoy.

My doctor said I should get outside and exercise more often. I think I’ll just stay in bed and watch more Jersey Digs videos.
Yeah! Screw what a doctor says
Not a lot of finds, but it's better than sitting in the couch wondering what you could've found. So great job! 👍 The piece you think is a lighter part is actually a part/half of a drawing compass.
Thanks! Any day outside is better than one couch surfing. I'll leave the rainy days for that lol. Halfof my time was spent on areas I haven't touched yet but I just had to see what was hiding. And that was the info I was looking for! Thank you so much for sharing your knowledge.
Looks like an old folding ruler piece, I've dug one on a civwar campsite
@@diggingnashvegas it's an interesting piece to grab here. I've pulled some civil war buttons and 3 ring bullets from this area along with several 1850s-1860s coins. Makes me think there was a camp here.
Cool stuff!!
Larry Hoover!
You’re kill’in me - not digging that decent tone early in the video! That was your gold coin, you know!!! 😂 good job 👏 😊
Now that I watched it it was actually a decent tone😂 well there's always next time! Thanks for watching friend much appreciated
Chickenies!! 😍
Where the 40+ buttons you found was possibly an orchard 200 years ago. those apple trees are notorious for ripping buttons off clothing.
Thanks for the heads up! The area has been home to those 40 buttons, a bakers dozen Indians, a few large cents, and some old silvers. I'll have to keep going over it
Great hunt buddy awesome finds God Bless and happy dirt fishin…Virgil
Appreciate it Virgil! Thanks for watching as always
Salut ami détectoriste..
Ravie de rejoindre ta chaîne en espérant trouver des trésors dans tes partages👍
Merci à toi 👍
I think the thing you found at 8:00 is a letter from a printing press
You may be right on that! I'll have to check my finds bag when I get home today. Good eye
@@JerseyDigs I only noticed because I found a couple at a ghost town recently and I didn't notice they were anything until I scrubbed some of the dirt off of the face. It looks just like the ones I found that were single letter stamps
Arsenic added for color, that's like those pre 20s or 30s lead soldiers kids kept in there mouths😮😂
Lmao, both a lesson learned a little too late
Nice tomback button, I'd put my sensitivity at 30 unless you have really high emi. And you swing really fast so you might want to increase your swing speed up to 4. You'll still get good depth. But you can't find what isn't there Jersey. Some fields look better than they are . Good hunt though.
Thank you, Kelly. I was swinging pretty quickly now that you say it, guess I could afford to raise it a bit or slow myself down. Half of this permission has been covered in corn stalks since I've started hunting it, hoping they come down soon. Until then. Happy hunting!
We should meet up for a nj hunt!!
Hey Rich where are you out of?
@@JerseyDigs hey! I live in bucks county. But work and detect all over jersey and pa. The other quarter hoarders and I have been in nj all winter long. Just about to start doing houses again. Our first is in bordentown
@@RichVanWinkle37 I was wondering if this was the rich from quarter hoarder! You're an excellent detectorist. I'd be happy to meet up. I'm in Monmouth county and same here I work all over NJ and eastern PA. I may be getting into a permission near Hamilton NJ soon.
@@JerseyDigs haha thanks! So are you. I like the mix of public and old places you do. Good finds and good filming. Im right over the bridge from trenton, so were pretty close. Im not on social media but we should exchange numbers and meet up.
@@RichVanWinkle37 thanks man I really appreciate that. And agreed. Id post my number here but I don't really want to get messaged a whole bunch by people lol. So no Facebook messenger or anything? I thought there was a way to send a message privately here but I can't find it
OK hunt, nice soil to dig in, seems to be kind to the finds
We've definitely had better ones, but they come in waves. And agreed. Maybe not too much fertilizer used here. Happy hunting
What part of Jersey do uou hunt. I'm not asking about your sites most old farms in N.J. date back to the Rev War time period. I'm just curious because I'm down in Ocean County although I also hunt a lot out in Burlington and Camden County out towards Philly and down in Atlantic County including the shore towns from Ocean to A.C, Basically everywhere around and through the pine barrons. Back in the '80's I did alot of hunting with my dad up in Monmouth around all of those farms around there.
Hey Jean, I mostly detect Monmouth and Northern Ocean Counties. There is certainly a lot of history hiding everywhere in Monmouth!
Hey Jersey! How’d you get this permission?
Through the neighbor luckily! The original perm was all fill dirt and nothing to be had. As soon as I walked out into this field my first signal was an 1846 large cent. Finally met the owner back in December and said we can go wherever. Lot of ground to cover! Id say we've only hit about 20% of what's here so far.
@@JerseyDigs great stuff! Permissions are what I’m struggling with currently. Glad to hear your success!
@@drewflesner5739 it's slow going, but we come across them from time to time. I'm typically grinding it out at parks and public schools but those are some of my favorite places to go. Thanks for watching and good luck out there!
any chance you get a double score ?
Funny, I was VERY between the Legend and Double Score but ultimately I felt the Legend was the better choice plus I got it for a steal. I feel like the DS is a baby Legend that is more simple to get up and running on. I wouldn't say I'll get one in the near future but there is a chance I do at some point. Thanks for watching.
I’m a Legend guy who just picked up a Double Score for a backup (sign of an illness?😅). Side by side testing starts tomorrow. Let me know if you’re interested in results.
@@wreckdhunter4058 yes very
Nice! Why did they have to wear them big darn coin shaped buttons back then!? 🫣
Man that was such a heartbreaker for me lol.
