Have you experienced mixing all day thinking it is sounding real good, only to come back after an hour break, and find the mix is not what you thought you were getting??? That's when I learned about ear fatigue ;)

Thank you my brother. Much good information. I especially like the part where the plug-in was doing so wonderful just to look up and see that it’s not even being used. And about the volume thing, I’ve learned that from experience and what a blessing it has been. I had no idea that would be so powerful in our mixes. And yes sir, after brain surgery I am partially sighted, just never knew to call it that. So sometimes what we think is a curse, we can turn into a blessing. Thank you so much and God bless you.

I don't level match everything all the time but I am aware, sometimes I'm intentionally looking for those level changes through certain plugins. Example I not only use the rvox to get consistent vocals but to also slightly bring my vocal levels up to where I need 😊

I think for me, is level matching is critical in my live stream from my church because if I lose my plug-ins I’m still pretty good. I hope this applies. It has blessed me many times.

@@dancooperwaves3685true, the technical aspects of audio production can indeed have a steeper learning curve. While not for the faint-hearted, I believe you’d agree that perseverance early & often is not only critical but has proven beneficial for so many; provided you stick with it. There isn’t always an ‘easy’ button.

Is there a easy solution for setting the spl level for the Monson curve? With advanced technology I was hoping that they would have some kind of hardware or plugin that could help keep a good monitoring level for u.

A good rule of thumb is to be able to clearly hear your keyboard clicks while your mix is playing. If you can’t, turn down.

I someimes have a problem with NX plugins seeming to cause some phasing. I will often turn down the Ambience and that helps. Is there something else I should be looking at when listening through those on headphones? I have HD 650 headphones which I mix on a lot since I'm in an apartment and my roommate in the other room seems to be sleeping whenever I'm mixing or mastering. 😴

I haven't ran into phasing issues, maybe you should check with their support if they know something, they are super helpful.
Just to verify - you're only monitoring with it, right? Not exporting

Set small deadlines such as half hour for drums, beats and basses then take a ten minute coffee brake. Do another strict 30mins on something else followed by another break etc etc. That way you focus more on what matters

Waves ...You know what you guys should create ...automatic gain compensation plugin. A plugin we can insert in any chain, anytime in the process...with settings like minimus gain compensation to maximum GC..IDK. Taking in consideration your team is very good at utility plugins I think you guys could pull off a very simple straight forward gain matching plugin. And if theres any already in your catalog then disregard my comment completely🤡
