This was very helpful. As a COMPLETE iOS beginner this got me connected to my ESP project nicely. There is such a lack of this level of instruction on expo and react native and Bluetooth, thank you very much.
Awesome video and super helpful. I'm just unclear on the iOS sim part. You mentioned earlier in the video that you can't use the sim because it lacks bluetooth but then it seems like you are using the sim and mention it again. Can you please clarify? Is that a mirror of your phone we are seeing on the screen? EDIT: I see where you switched from the simulator around the 25:50 mark to your phone. That makes sense. And I'll assume that you are using the expo app on your phone.
Hi, Taylor thanks for this amazing video. There is a big shortage of quality BLE + Expo content over youtube, your video will be of great help to people getting started with this stuff. Thanks again.
Hi, Just came across your channel really glad to see such interesting innovative videos for electronics hobbies. Are you also into Ham Radio electronics ? I can suggest you something to for your new project building.
after making the changes in the "info.plist", and stopping the server, you do the "npx expo run:ios" - although in the video, I didn't see the QR code, but at this time, could I also start the app by scanning the QR code? If so, you should have mentioned that in the video. Not all of us are react geniuses.
After doing "npx expo run:ios", you mention going back to XCode again, should I have left XCode open all this time? So could I have run the app from the QR code, or is it necessary I go back to XCode and run it from there. I'm confused, at this time, should I always run or start the app from XCode, or can I run it from the QR code. Also, will edited changes to the code now show up on both the device and the emulator? You dod not mention anything at all about how you start the app after typing in the "npx expo run:ios"? I think this needs more clarity.
In goiing over this video again and again, I see in yur shell window a line "npm install'. Did YOU tyoe that or was that given just after you type create-expo-app line? also, did your outpur present a QR code? Also, you did NOT mention whether or not you had to open the emulator. Because when I tried that, my emulator didn't start up like yours did.... Shit dude, why don't you read your LinkedIn messages... I've been trying to get your attention now for over 3 weeks. WTF dude....
the npm install runs automatically, then the qr code its only when using expo go i think and then if the emulator doesnt run maybe you need the right dependencies
And why are you deleting my earlier comments? I come back here, and my comments are gone... why don't you reply to them instead of just deleting them. Thats not the way to treat your viewers...

Oooh if that happened, it’s very naughty!! Considering his content, he’s doing pretty well as I see it.
Perhaps it’s just a glitch 😊
