    I've been fishing for like a gazillion years but am new to fly tying. This is one of the very best of many dozens of videos I've seen ..... thanks. Going to try some small ones for cold water, winter fishing in the next few months. Will probably tie black on a #10 or even a #12.

      Thank you so much! I really appreciate it. I’m glad it was useful to you! Definitely tie them up in a #10 and #12, trout will tear them up no doubt 😎👍

    I like the way you think. There are beeswax pink sticks at the bead stores that pickup bead and help with the install .

    Very nice leach pattern. What color flashabou did you tie with in the vid?

    Bought something similar about 2 years ago and dead drifted them as more of a leach. Worked wonders but lost all of them a while ago. This video popped up and im going to have to make some

      Yes! These are extremely effective when dead drifted. That’s great. Let me know how they work out for you 😎🎣

      Why not just put a dubbing loop collar at the bead?

    Great looking fly. Curious as to why you tie the fly upside down in the vice and also tie the rabbit strip fur side against the shank? I have never seen that before. Thanks

    • @LetYourSpiritFly
      @LetYourSpiritFly  7 місяців тому

      Thank you! It’s just a preference, I like to see the fly in the vice exactly how I imagine it will swim. I’ve found that tying the fur side up gives the fly an extra wiggle jig action, try it out! You’ll love it 👍😎🎣

    As an instructor, you can get better results with fewer steps by installing the zonker inverted. Simply pierce it on the point into a near horizontal position. Hook rides up, and your flash is much more visible. Harden the zonker about 3/8" behind the hook to help prevent fouling. Tight lines...Paul

    Yeah, Bud, FireHole didn’t design that hook. It was made by a company in UT who sold the design/production to Fulling Mill, and FH ripped it off- poorly, I might add.
